00:00What was it like to finally win a ring?
00:05Because I remember when you won it, I reached out to you on social media.
00:09I was so happy for you two guys.
00:11First of all, your cohort, he's an idiot.

00:17I think he's a great color guy, the best in the league.
00:20And then to see you two guys get rings, it really made me happy.
00:24More than just the Panthers winning, because I kind of like the Panthers a little.
00:27I'm a Penguin fan.
00:28But to see my two friends win a ring, it made me so happy for you.

00:43I appreciate you playing in my golf tournament when you were down here in South Florida
00:47helping the kids through Goldie's Gang.
00:50It was an incredible feeling.
00:51I was so happy for Vinny Viola and his family and Doug Sifu and the owners who came in
00:57when the thing was, you know, not doing real well and putting all that time, all that effort
01:02and all of the people that work for the team that work so hard every single day.
01:08So I was thrilled and I was really thrilled for all of those people.
01:12And then the fans, you know, the ones that have stuck by the team and the new fans as well.
01:18But the ones that have been there the whole time, you're just thrilled for so many different
01:22people.
01:22And then you get to know a guy like coach of the team who's a salt of the earth guy,
01:26Paul Maurice, who is waiting 27 years to win the thing and actually in there every day,
01:31not just sitting up top like I am calling the games the easy job.
01:36It was an amazing feeling.
01:37And the incredible thing, Pharrell, we sit here on May 1st and they've got such a legitimate
01:44shot to win the thing again.
01:47And, you know, in hockey, that's not supposed to happen.
01:50So I saw my team win it back to back twice and they've won it five times.
01:56They won game seven in Detroit in 09 at Joe Lewis with the flower making that great save at the
02:01end.
02:01And that doesn't happen.
02:03A winning at Joe Lewis against the Red Wings after you'd lost to him the year before.
02:07So when they won, it was the greatest thing.
02:09Honestly, it was better than the birth of my children or even meeting my wife, 34C.
02:14You know her.
02:15I just don't care about them as much as I do the hockey.
02:18I love them, but not on that kind of like real spiritual love affair type sexual love I
02:24have for the Penguins.
02:25But when the Panthers, they have a shot for sure to do it.
02:30And they just last night, I mean, I think Bennett had the game winning goal and all of a sudden
02:37they added, you know, tick tock, another couple, the empty netter, and they buried the Lightning
02:42for one.
02:44It was supposed to be this great seven game series and the Lightning were going to beat
02:49the Panthers and none of that happened.
02:51And it's over again.
02:52And the Lightning are basically your bitch.
02:57Well, you know, those first, so they played for the last five years in the playoffs, every
03:03year, the winner of that series, and they played either the first or second round.
03:08Every year, the winner of the series has gone on to the cup.
03:11One of the Florida teams has played for the cup for five years in a row.
03:15So it is amazing what's going on with the game here in South Florida.
03:19I thought, Pharrell, you go back to the series in 21 and 22, the Panthers learned their lessons
03:24from Tampa Bay.
03:26And it's amazing because in those first two series, the Lightning won eight out of 10 games,
03:31a six-game series and a four-game series.
03:33Now in the last two series, the last 12 months, the Panthers have won eight out of 10 games,
03:38only been a five-game series.
03:39I think a lot of people bought into how the Panthers were kind of playing late in the season.
03:46They didn't have Kachuk.
03:48They didn't have Ekblad.
03:49Bennett got hurt for a few games.
03:51Kulikov was hurt.
03:53They knew, you know, this team is as good on the road as they are at home, maybe even
03:57better on the road.
03:58They knew it didn't really matter where they finished.
04:01So, you know, for a number of reasons with guys being out of the lineup, Panthers didn't
04:06really have the pedal to the metal the last four to six weeks.
04:09They didn't really need to.
04:10And they really couldn't with the guys that I had.
04:12They also had a schedule.
04:13They played nine games in the last 15 days.
04:16I think a lot of people bought into that erroneously.
04:20And then all of a sudden, the playoffs come.
04:23Remember, Matthew Kachuk had never played a game with Seth Jones and Brad Marchand on
04:29his team until game one.
04:30And it all came together.
04:33Now they just look like an absolute wagon.
04:36And it's going to be tough to someone to beat them, all things being equal, four times in
04:41two weeks.
