00:00Well, Luka, of course, he could barely even stand up from the chair when he was done talking to the media last night.
00:07I guess his back was in such bad shape.
00:09But here he is, how he felt about his time as a Laker here for the first time this season.
00:14August 2nd, you're extension eligible. Have you thought at all about your future in the summer?
00:20I didn't think it yet. I've been focused on basketball, so obviously this is the time to think about everything.
00:30Luka, slightly along those lines, how was your time as a Laker, big picture, after kind of shaking off the shock or as much of it as you were able to shake off from the trade?
00:42What did you think about your time here, and can you see some sort of long-term future for yourself in this city and this organization?
00:49Yeah, I mean, it's been great, honestly.
00:52The way the fans accept to me, it's been amazing.
00:56The way the community accept to me, it's been amazing.
00:58So I'm really glad that I'm here.
01:01I had a great a couple months, you know, but still trying to learn about everything, about the city, about the team.
01:09So I'm just trying to process everything.
01:13Listen, this guy's not going anywhere.
01:16They're going to give him all the money in the world.
01:18He's going to play for the Lakers for at least 10 years.
01:21He's not going anywhere.
01:22He's not leaving.
01:23And the other thing is, like, you know, you're asking him this stuff, like, 17 minutes after he just lost.
01:30Like, I mean, that's why, like, after last night's game, same thing with LeBron asking about what he's going to do.
01:36Like, keep it to getting your ass beat by the Timberwolves.
01:39Like, they usually do, like, the exit interviews, like, this week, give the guys a couple days.
01:43Then you can ask him the big picture nonsense about your time as a Laker and are you going to turn down, you know, $600 million from them on August 1st?
01:52You know, come on.
01:54You know he's not going to do that anyway.
01:55Let me quickly get these J.J. Redick in ones for you.
01:59Redick knows that he could be better.
02:01He had a rough day last night before and after the game.
02:04This was after the game.
02:05Knows he could be better.
02:06How would you evaluate your first season as head coach of this team?
02:12You know, I'll use my own thoughts to evaluate myself and I'll use what my players say and what my coaching staff says to evaluate.
02:22But, you know, I know I can be better and I know I will get better.
02:29I don't necessarily take any satisfaction from how the year went.
02:33And that's not to say I'm not proud of what the group was able to do and how we were able to figure things out on the fly and put ourselves in a position to have home court in the first round.
02:46But there's always ways to get better and I can get a lot better.
02:53Listen, I don't have a problem with the guy.
02:56I thought he did a good job as the Laker coach and I think he's going to get better.
03:01You know, I'll be honest with you.
03:03He reminds me a little bit of Spolstra in the sense that Spolstra came from the film room.
03:08This guy actually came from, you know, performing at Duke to the highest level and then playing in the NBA forever, knocking down dagger threes.
03:19Guy could flat out shoot and play.
03:23You know, I think this guy Spolstra is a great coach and I think he did it his way and on his own terms around good people.
03:33But I thought this guy stepped right into that job and did it.
03:36I think he did a better job than all these guys that they fired in the last few years.
03:40But I will say this.
03:41I think he's I think he's still a massive D.
03:44He's been a massive D since he went to Duke and when he played in the NBA, he was a D.
03:49He's still a D.
03:50The guy stands up and walks out on every single press conference he does.
03:53He doesn't respect anybody but himself.
03:56He's he's a real narcissist.
03:57This guy loves himself.
03:59You heard what he said.
03:59He's like, I'll evaluate myself.
04:01Thanks so much.
04:02Thanks so much.
04:07Thanks so much.
04:22Thanks so much.
