BMitch and JP believe Commanders second round pick Trey Amos was the steal of the NFL Draft.
Transcript
00:00I wanted to point this out.
00:01The 12th best pick, according to these, like, value metrics,
00:06Trey Amos, Washington Commanders,
00:08the cornerback that a lot of people had as a first-rounder
00:11who Washington was able to take with the 61st overall pick.
00:15I'm reading now from ESPN.com.
00:21I had Amos as a round one possibility to the Commanders
00:23in my final mock draft because of the need for a physical press corner.
00:27Instead, they were able to get him at the end of round two,
00:30Amos' ability to win at the line of scrimmage and be physical
00:33will allow him to shine opposite Marshawn Lattimore.
00:37Adam Peters, dude, he either doesn't answer something or doesn't lie.
00:42And when Peters said, if Connerly wasn't there,
00:45we probably would have taken Amos at 31.
00:48Like, the fact that reporters are saying that they thought
00:51he was a possibility there, or at 29, rather,
00:53like, it's just, that's real.
00:55Like, he's telling the truth.
00:56And the Amos pick, listen, Lane's going to be the most exciting
01:00because he's a skill position guy and he's got crazy speed.
01:03Connerly's the first-rounder, so that gets the most attention paid to it.
01:05My favorite pick in this draft was Amos because if you take a dude at 61
01:11and you know you're basically ending your options to trade back
01:17and get more picks, that doesn't mean they couldn't have traded back in the sixth
01:20to get another sixth and another seventh.
01:22But of the real valuable picks, of the Friday night picks,
01:26you take that pick at 61, you're not getting anything else.
01:29Yeah.
01:30They knew it.
01:30They did it.
01:31They liked the kid.
01:32Because they liked him.
01:32Right.
01:32And I think Adam stated that when we get to a position,
01:35we're going to see where we stand.
01:37Right.
01:37If we like the person, somebody we want that's high on our board,
01:41we're going to take him.
01:42And I have seen, I saw one thing where it said the steal of the draft was him,
01:47was Amos.
01:48Yeah.
01:48So, I mean, listen, this is us talking right now, but we'll see.
01:52And I believe the guy is going to be able to work.
01:53He's going to work hard because he's from Louisiana.
01:55That's what we do.
01:55Yeah.
01:56Yeah.
