The paranormal detective agency she runs with her flatmate has never been busier, she's almost up-to-date with her rent and the ghosts in her bathroom mirror have been less demanding than usual. 00:00Oh, God, forgive me.
00:30I was too late.
00:46This is Ghost Town by the developers Fireproof Games, and it was released on the 24th of April 2025 about the game.
00:54Set in London, you play as Edith, a ghost whisperer, in search for her brother, and you will travel to many locations and talk to many people that will help you along your way, solving many puzzles of all types.
01:06Explore, keep your eyes open for clues as to whereabouts of your brother.
01:09It's not a complex story, but it is fun to experience it and to watch it all unfold.
01:15Levels and Size
01:15The game is a big size. There are so many beautiful locations and packed with so many large and small details.
01:23If you were brought up in the 80s, then this will be a right treat for you.
01:27You are going to spend a good amount of time just looking at stuff.
01:30And don't rush it. Absorb everything.
01:33That pretty much goes for a lot of the locations. Really do spend some time looking at things.
01:38The game took me just under four hours to complete, so it's about average.
01:43Puzzles
01:43There are so many puzzles of all different types.
01:46I wouldn't say they are super challenging, but some of them will make you think they are exactly of the right balance,
01:53because they won't leave you annoyed and frustrated.
01:56And if you do get stuck, you can call upon some clues to help you out via your pull-down tab in your box of tricks.
02:02I'm not a huge fan of puzzle games, but the puzzles are a lot of fun to work through here.
02:07Mechanics
02:08Considering how many puzzles are in this game, I had zero issues, and all the scenes were perfect.
02:14The only issue I had was just a case of it didn't know how high to set me at times.
02:19So occasionally, I'd either be eight foot tall, or sometimes four foot tall.
02:24But other than this minor detail, it was just smooth sailing.
02:28All the characters moved and talked how they were meant to.
02:31The audio is also really superb.
02:33All the little noises, all the small things like the humming of the old street lamps,
02:38and the playing with sounds to set up the unsettling tone of the situations you might find yourself in.
02:44It really is a true masterpiece of all accounts.
02:48Controls
02:48The controls are very, very simple.
02:51Apart from the usual movement, it's just grabbing stuff.
02:54Game menus
02:56The menus fit right into this game, and they're looking slick.
03:00Offering settings for comfort like movement type, turn mode, speed mode,
03:04then general settings for language, hints, and controller vibrations,
03:08and finally audio settings for like subtitles, sound effects volume, music volume, and voice volume.
03:16My thoughts.
03:17Now, without a doubt, this is one of the best, if not the best looking game on the Quest 3 right now.
03:24There is so much attention to detail, and everything has been beautifully crafted.
03:29Now, if you are not a fan of puzzle games, you absolutely want to give this a miss,
03:35because the puzzles come fast and frequent in this game.
03:38There is also a lot of dialogue, so if you don't enjoy these type of games,
03:42it's probably best just to jog on.
03:44The only thing I could say negative about this game,
03:47and it really is nitpicking, because this game is about as perfect as it gets on a release,
03:52but you don't seem to have a shadow.
03:54I'd often walk in front of some light, and I didn't see a shadow,
03:58which is a shame, because the attention to detail is so high,
04:02and the lighting in this game is absolutely beautifully done,
04:06especially when you're using your torch and how the surfaces react to the light.
04:10A true high standard.
04:12But I will say, this really is an enjoyable experience to play.
04:16No bugs, no crashes.
04:18I love that these guys are based out of Guildford in the UK,
04:21as I studied at a music college there, and I lived there for two years,
04:25as well as living nearby for another ten years.
04:27It took them four years to complete this game, so make sure to support them,
04:32and do yourself a favour and buy one of the best looking games on the quest right now.
04:36Anyway, if you guys from Fighter Proof Games happen to watch this review,
04:40thank you and well done on releasing a perfect working game.
04:44An absolute joy to play through.
04:46So overall, I mark Ghost Town a solid 10 out of 10.

04:56Let's all support one another in our gaming experiences.
