Carole Malone has launched a blistering attack on the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), following the announcement that Sergeant Martyn Blake - the officer cleared of murdering Chris Kaba - is now facing a gross misconduct hearing.Speaking in a video exclusively for GB News members, Malone did not hold back in her criticism. “So the appalling news today,” she began, “is that Sergeant Martyn Blake, who was cleared of murdering violent gangster Chris Kaba, is now to face a disciplinary misconduct hearing. In fact, it’s a gross misconduct hearing - which is even more serious.”Blake, who shot Kaba in September 2022 during a police operation in Streatham, South London, was found not guilty by a unanimous jury in under three hours. The court accepted that Blake believed his colleagues were in immediate danger when he opened fire. But now, despite the criminal acquittal, the IOPC is pursuing disciplinary action that could see Blake sacked from the Metropolitan Police.“This is appalling beyond belief,” Malone said, adding: “This man was doing his job.”

00:00So the appalling news today is that Sergeant Martin Blake, who was cleared of murdering violent gangster Chris Cabber, is now to face a disciplinary misconduct hearing.
00:15In fact, it's a gross misconduct hearing, which is being brought by the IOPC.
00:19Now, the IOPC is the organisation which recommended to the CPS that Martin Blake be charged with murder because he shot Cabber in the course of his job as a non-police officer because he thought his colleagues were in danger.
00:35Now, a court agreed with what Sergeant Blake did and acquitted him in less than three hours.
00:42It was a unanimous decision by the jury. But now the IOPC, it decided to come and hound this man some more and they're going to try and charge him with gross misconduct.
00:53Now, this is appalling beyond belief. This man was doing his job.
00:58It really exercises me when we have every time there's a shooting, every time armed police officers have to shoot someone, they're portrayed somehow as trigger happy gangsters.
01:09Because they're not. These are highly trained men who don't want to shoot people, but sometimes they have to.
01:15And Sergeant Blake did what he thought was right to protect his officers and his colleagues.
01:21As a result, his career as an armed police officer has gone. He's having to do a job in the back run.
01:26He now has a 10,000 bounty on his head by gangsters who are determined to kill him because of what he did.
01:34His family have been devastated by this, as has he, and yet still the IOPC want to hound him some more.
01:42Surely it's time to disband this nonsensical organisation.
