A kangaroo on the loose near Tuskegee, Alabama, brought traffic to a halt after causing a crash on a highway on Tuesday, April 29, according to local police.

00:00We're chasing a kangaroo down here.
00:05We're going down a little further than where we were.
00:08Kangaroo has been tranquilized.
00:10I want to thank everybody.
00:12My dispatch is down at the sheriff department and the police department
00:17who have been keeping us abreast on what's going on.
00:20We've been chasing them a while and now we pull them back up.
00:23But there's a kangaroo in Macon County, Alabama.
00:26And we got a lot of people out here right now getting out of my vehicle.

00:32We got traffic stopped long ways and he was shot with a tranquilizer a little while back.
00:42But I'm going to get you in place to see what's going on.
00:45And we're going to see if we can apprehend this kangaroo.
00:51I didn't believe it and nobody believed it, but I'm looking at him.
00:56So he's up there and waiting on him hopefully pass out to pass out so they can apprehend him
01:01or we can apprehend him and get him back where he needs to be.
01:04But we're between Auburn and Tuskegee, Alabama in Macon County, right at the big bridge between the two places.
01:12And he has been tranquilized one time here at the owner.
01:16And I don't know if you're going to try to get another shot at him, what they're going to do.
01:22But we got the traffic stopped so he don't run out in front of the traffic and get himself killed
01:29or make somebody else hurt themselves.
01:32He's got traffic backed up for quite some distance right now.
01:37But that's worth doing to make sure that everything is safe out here.
01:43So he's walking up on him again to try to get a tranquilizer on him again.
01:47That's the owner.
01:48Got the game warden here doing a great job and everybody out here working together,
01:53trying to make sure that we get this kangaroo home safely.
01:59And boy, it is hot out here. It is definitely hot out here, but it's okay.
02:05Oh, she just moved again and look like they're going to go behind her.

02:16He does have her and he's bringing her down out there.
