00:00so the the the thing at the moment the big thing at the moment is everybody but everybody wants the

00:07new model y um it's such a huge improvement on what was already quite a good car the new model

00:16one you know um i've been doing full self-driving for three weeks where i don't touch the steering

00:23wheel i mean it's it's kind of weird you get so used to it and it's totally weird i've done it

00:29you panic a little bit don't you because you feel as though you're no longer in control

00:34well initially you initially you you see what you're doing and then you kind of drift off if

00:42you know what i mean and start thinking about um something you were supposed to do or plan to do or

00:49or some phone call you didn't make and you realize oh my god i'm drifting off here you know and i'm not

00:55watching the road now fortunately or you do watch the road but you're drifting off you're not looking

01:00you're not actually focusing and that's a bit of a problem and there's a thing on the new model y

01:07that actually watches you so these eyes are new and if you take your eyes off the road

01:14then a big red alarm comes up saying your eyes are off the road you know which is oh okay sorry you

01:23know okay and you get back to it you know but um yeah i know the full self-driving is is absolutely

01:31really something to experience um the the the the the visuals on the screen showing you exactly what's in

01:40front of you what the road looks like in front of you from you know what the vehicles are in front of

01:47you that for some distance is quite extraordinary and my first self-driving experience full self-driving

01:56was in 2015 where we kimball my son actually did say dad we're testing this and he had his hands

02:05you know cupped under the wheel under the steering wheel not touching the steering wheel

02:09and we drove 45 miles across from denver airport to boulder uh and quite successfully but um now

02:18it's it's a little bit you know you need a little you need to sort of put in pin mode you know where

02:25there's a pin that sticks you in the backside every every five seven minutes you know bring you back to

02:32life you know if you know what i mean yeah and um the worst is if you're on your own self-ful self-driving

02:39you know you know when you when you feel self-driving and you've got passengers they're all like

02:43watching you and you know sort of like you can feel their apprehension as you drive and um so you

02:50tend to uh you know you know show you're really on the ball here you know you're not you're not making

02:54any mistakes but when you go by yourself it's in it's you know it's it's almost it borders on i

03:01shouldn't be doing this you know i shouldn't be doing this because it's amazing how quickly

03:08your mind drifts right oh my god i didn't call andrew you know what i mean yes and you're not

03:15looking at the road you are looking but you're not focusing yeah you know what i mean and it's
