00:00With a Premier League return on the horizon, Leeds United manager Daniel Farke and his squad will be making their way around Leeds City's centre on an open-top bus on bank holiday Monday 5th May.
00:12Large crowds are expected to turn out to show their appreciation for the team, who are scheduled to arrive at around 1pm, with the parade set to last between an hour and 90 minutes.
00:22The parade will follow a mile-long route that will take in the full length of the head row, as well as City Square, Boar Lane, Newmarket Street and parts of Wellington Street and Vicar Lane.
00:34Due to the high number of fans expected, there will be no single focal point for the event, and supporters are being encouraged to line as much of the route as possible.
00:43Farke and his players will be on a loudspeaker and interacting with fans in what's sure to be a city centre-wide carnival atmosphere.
00:51Due to restrictions during the team's last promotion to the Premier League in 2020, no major celebrations of this nature were organised, so the event should be extra special.
01:03A programme of road closures and other traffic restrictions is due to be in place across much of the city centre between 8am and 5pm, but emergency services access will be maintained.
01:13The size of the expected turnout means people coming into the city centre for the parade or other reasons have been asked to carefully plan journeys in advance.
01:24The park and ride site at Temple Green and Sturton will be operating on the day, with inbound buses from there to the city centre between 10am and 1pm, and return services between 2.30pm and 5.30pm.
01:35The parade has been organised by Leeds City Council in conjunction with Leeds United, with support from agencies including West Yorkshire Police.
