00:00A married couple in their 50s were arrested during a drug raid at a housing estate in
00:06Alor Star on Monday.
00:08Kota Star District Police Chief ACP Siti Noor Salawati Saad said the duo, both local residents,
00:15were detained at 3 p.m. by officers from the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Division
00:21of the Kota Star District Police Headquarters.
00:24The operation led to the seizure of more than 10,000 erymin-5 pills, nearly 500 grams of
00:30ketamine and 364 grams of MDMA powder.
00:35The total street value of the drugs is estimated at nearly 190,000 ringgit.
00:41Police believe the drugs, which were likely sourced from outside Kedah, could have reached
00:46up to 3,200 users if distributed.
00:50Police also confiscated 530 ringgit in cash, believed to be proceeds from drug sales.
00:57The suspects have been remanded for seven days until May 5th under Section 39b of the Dangerous
01:04Drugs Act 1952, which carries the death penalty or life imprisonment upon conviction.
