00:00Good morning, happy Tuesday. Here is your market open update. Futures tracking Canada's main stock
00:09index edged higher in a volatile early trading session as investors digested a federal election
00:13outcome. June futures on the S&PTSX index were up 0.2% as of 7.21 Eastern Time. The venture
00:20tips down and the futures of the down the Nasdaq both delete 38 points. Dipping into a couple
00:25quick headlines, the Liberal Party did secure 168 seats in Canada's election. Falling short of the
00:31172 seat majority, Prime Minister Mark Carney had aimed for to strengthen his hand in tariff
00:35negotiations with Washington. And Barrick Gold is planning to change its name to Barrick Mining.
00:41They are also planning to change their ticker symbol on the New York Stock Exchange from gold
00:46to the letter B. Looking at currency futures where the Canadian dollar holds some weight this morning,
00:51slightly down to the greenback holding at $0.72 U.S., gaining traction on the euro and Bitcoin
00:56falls 545 points. Let's tail end with the commodity futures with copper on the up by over half a percent,
01:03gold slips by a quarter percent, WTI also in the red sitting at $61 U.S. a barrel,
01:08and natural gas surges up by over 16 percent. That's your market open.
