00:01Ladies and gentlemen, friends and relatives, please welcome, give your warmest welcome to the Chandra Moon Trio.
00:18Okay, welcome everyone. I can't believe it, but it's actually, is it six years or five years from 2019?
00:26The last gig we did was in June 2019 because the pandemic came and wrecked everything and then I lost all my kind of mojo for playing and I'm thrilled, you know, I've written a few more songs, got the third album finished and here we are.
00:45And I'm going to play, I don't know if those of you were at my first two album launches, on those occasions I had the guys that had actually recorded the album in the studio with me.
00:55So it's a lead guitarist, bass player that works and this time I don't have that luxury, so this is the kind of acoustic versions if you like, but the tracks on the album are all recorded with other instruments as well.
01:08But I hope you enjoy it. And this is Jimmy on the drum and the guitar and Paddy on the keys as usual and me trying to remain.
01:17And I'm going to start off with a really old song to get in the mood and it's the title track of my first album which is called Full Circle.
01:25I write this after the full circle.
01:27And my son was there when it happened so it was like quite a big deal.
01:32It's called the Full Circle.
01:37Thanks, temperal.
01:38Thanks for having a great foot.
02:05The power of the soul of the army
02:11Picked up a character, a day of dance
02:18It's redemption, face to face
02:25First day of the rest of my life
02:29First day of the rest of my life
02:35First day of the rest of my life
02:48I was always invisible when you looked straight to me
02:55Your sword was indivisible when you couldn't see
03:03Deny it is a dangerous thing, it leads to heights
03:11You and I would love to see the rest of my life
03:19First day of the rest of my life
03:23First day of the rest of my life
03:27First day of the rest of my life
03:33When I fall to grow, I would see my face
03:45As if I really didn't know my sight
03:49I looked around, it is a different and weird
03:53I remember somewhere else where you used to start
03:57Oooh uh uh uh...
04:14I have time for the secrets back to me
04:22Strutted by the power of the tsunami Picked up and carried to a different loss
04:38Three hundred and sixty degrees, face to face There are a terrible sin, terrible sin, terrible sin
05:08I've got my words on the tablet but I never look at it
05:19And quite often I look down and realise I've put the wrong song
05:23And I have to really be careful and look away
05:26This next song, I've been practising too much, I won't be able to sing tonight
05:31It's called Grown Up and Gone
05:34And this one is about just a feeling when Daniel left home
05:42He was my second kid, if you like, to fly the nest
05:46And I just remember the house, it was so weird, it was such a funny feeling
05:49To suddenly, kids were gone
05:52And yeah, strange, I mean I soon got used to it
05:56But it's called Grown Up and Gone
06:01I didn't get used to it
06:02Yeah, he does
06:08I was fucking fat
06:10I was fucking fat
06:12I was fucking fat
06:15I mean, that's so weird
06:17I don't know
06:19I was really good
06:20I was young
06:22I was young
06:24Open my eyes, jump out of bed
06:34Look to the skies, shaking my head
06:38These are the days of my life
06:42Shall I go out, shall I stay in
06:48Find somewhere near I've ever been
06:52These are the days of my life
06:56These are the days of my life
07:03So many people, so many friends
07:09Trying to make sure it never happened
07:12These are the days of my life
07:17Will there be laughter, will there be pain
07:27Will there be sunshine, will there be rain
07:30These are the days of my life
07:35These are the days of my life
07:40These are the days of my life
07:44Who left my children while I'm gone
07:50Now they're singing their own song
07:57Who left my children while I'm strong
08:04Now they're singing their own song
08:11Having the time of my life
08:26Having the time of my life
08:32They're the days of my life
08:37Open my eyes
09:02Jump out your feet
09:05Look to the sky
09:08Shaking my head
09:13These are the days of my life
09:21These are the days of my life
09:32These are the days of my life
09:38I said the word for now, didn't I?
09:48This next song is probably the nearest I've ever written to what I call a proper folk song
10:13He's got a warbly flute in it
10:19And someone who's passed away
10:22You have to have someone who's passed away, I think
10:24I hope so
10:25And this is about a friend of mine who was a real stoner
10:28That's the only way to describe him
10:31And he always talked about travelling but never went anywhere
10:34And it's called Stephen was a travelling man
10:37I've just got to get it in my head
10:43It's the only way to describe him
10:48It is the wrong song, isn't it?
10:52I do need a guitarist, if anyone knows a guitarist
10:56Who's looking for a songwriter? I am the one
10:58In fact, I get all the songs in my head and I've had to teach myself the guitar to get the songs out
11:16In fact, I only get all the songs in my hand and I've had to teach myself the guitar to
11:22get the songs out, so that's why I need a guitarist.
11:25Stephen was a travelling man, I've got it now.
11:46You have to keep me with that in a bit, thanks.
11:48Have a peek, I'll see you.
11:50That's better, ending history quite quiet.
11:52Sorry, have a look.
11:54Stephen was a travelling man, though he never left this land.
12:20From his armchair in his door, he found a way this world to roam.
12:28He found a way this world to roam.
12:32Endless trips through history, with his things that yet will be.
12:52Travelling man, travelling still Free to go wherever he will
13:00He's free to go wherever he will
13:04In his mind he travelled afar
13:20Crossed deep space to distant star
13:24Soaring now his spirit flies
13:28Free from all his worldly ties
13:32Free from all his worldly ties
13:36He went to당히 all sides
13:40Long life He went to the dream
13:42Deaf from all his Bohemakers
13:44He went to the dream
13:45He went to the dream
13:46He went to Chick-a-Jerry
13:47To be the dream
13:48Oh, there's no way
13:49To be the dream
13:50He went to the dream
13:51He went to the dream
13:52His open and the dream
13:56He went to the dream
13:58First, he marched
14:00For those days
14:02He went to the dream
14:04Stigern was a travelling man, though he never liked his land.
14:23He left behind his grieving pride, he left behind his grieving pride.
14:49This is the one I started playing last time, but it's actually this one.
14:52Where did it go so wrong?
14:55What did it go so wrong?
14:58What did it go so wrong?
14:59What did it go so wrong?
15:03What did it go so wrong?
15:04What did it go so wrong?
15:06What did it go so wrong?
15:08What did it go so wrong?
15:10What did it go so wrong?
15:11What did it go so wrong?
15:12How long can I keep up?
15:13right it's cool
15:21I try not to go too fast
15:25as well
15:26I'll keep up this
15:28I'll go too fast
15:301, 2, 3, 4
15:43I don't want to be alone
15:50I need someone by my side
15:53To share my life, my heart, my home
15:57We talk together and we go wild
16:00But it seems we reach the end
16:03It's over, we are through
16:07Our love will never end
16:10It's too hard to stay
16:13You were the only one
16:18Our love was true as one
16:21I was the name of the sun
16:24And when it comes to life
16:29Why do people change so much
16:34As the dial fade away
16:38All I wanted was the touch
16:41I want to see you every day
16:45Is there a chance it's home to your knees?
16:48If you're sure whether you can
16:51You can raise each other
16:54Please
16:55Have you discouraged?
16:57Will you?
16:58Have you or could you?
17:00Help me please?
17:02I hope you enjoy
17:04Thank you
17:05I love you
17:06When you're like
17:19Is there a chance it's not too late
17:33Can you show me that you can do
17:36If you could have enjoyed my world
17:40I feel the courage to love you down
17:43You are the only one
17:47My love was too much
17:49You are the new universe
17:53I feel the courage to love you down
17:59You are the only one
18:04My love was transformed
18:07I feel the courage to love you down
18:12I feel the courage to love you down
18:17I feel the courage to love you down
18:22I feel the courage to love you down
18:28This next tune is a very old one now
18:39It's from my first album
18:40It's the one I like playing the most
18:42Oh I do think I've found this one
18:45It's called
18:48I'm going to put the words just in here
18:50It's my comfort blanket
19:03I can't find it
19:07Put it on dark so I don't need the wrong song
19:22It's called Haven't Known You Very Long
19:24This is about someone who
19:25Oh you've written all these songs
19:27Why haven't you written one about me
19:29And I said well I haven't known you very long
19:30And I wrote this one
19:32It's a bit of a boss and over
19:35You have to imagine the bass in this one
19:38It's good
19:39I'll try not to do it too quick
19:43What to express in a song
20:03What to express in a song
20:10What have you known it
20:19And I've been known for the long
20:23And I've been known for the long
20:24It's our first day when we met my door
20:29And I've been known for the long
20:32But with a banging on the song
20:36I did that in this weird time shade
20:42The memory, I just wouldn't believe
20:50Your hidden face, your freckled skin
20:55Your voice on the phone ready for me
21:02In your heart, heart to express
21:07In your soul, remember
21:10Heart to express
21:14In your soul, remember
21:17Heart to express
21:20In your soul, remember
21:23I don't know when you feel me now
21:27When my time takes, as I lay down
21:33The power moves of me, each time I run
21:40Sealed my senses, made my heart take your arms
21:47Sealed my new deep time, by the fire
21:52A kindred spirit, child history
22:00Chimes and capture, synchronicity
22:07Chimes and capture, synchronicity
22:16Chimes and capture, synchronicity
22:19What have you been able to do
22:22I have been able to to spread
22:27And see how many times I've heard
22:31The body and the heart
22:33I'm too desperate, I'm too desperate
22:53Um, um, um, um, um...
22:59Um, um, um...
23:23This next song, it's not meant to be depressing, but it probably is a bit, but it's basically an anti-war song because this is a song I wrote. I've never played this in public, actually. It's got about two chords in it, but basically it's about, you know, stop the war, basically.
23:47And I started writing this song the first time when the war broke out in Syria, and it was absolutely heartbreaking, absolutely heartbreaking.
23:56And without going into a list of all the conflicts that we're living through now, we thankfully aren't, but most a lot of people in the world are.
24:03And in Africa, in Gambia and in Africa, they have a tradition called the griots, and they're like the equivalent of our old folk songs, really, where you pass down wisdom through the generations.
24:17And this is a really simple song about an idea, really, of trying to learn something from the elders, some wisdom.
24:26And, well, we can't give up, can we? We've got to keep going, but that's what this song's about.
24:32It's called Sing a Song of All Our Nations. It's quite a quick song, isn't it?
24:36Okay, one, two, three.
24:44One, two, three.
24:46Put their words on random pages Tell our stories to the ages
25:08It's here for generations Sing a song with all our nations
25:21See the fear on people's faces Where can they go? There's no safe spaces
25:33The only way of the peace to last Not a lesson who's brought the past
25:45Father to son, mother to daughter Stoke the road, hope to slaughter
25:57Father to son, mother to daughter Stoke the road, hope to slaughter
26:05Father to son, mother to son, mother to son, mother to son
26:07Father to son, mother to son, mother to son, mother to son
26:11Father to son, mother to son, mother to son
26:13Father to son, mother to son, mother to son
26:15Father to son, mother to son, mother to son
26:17Father to son, mother to son, mother to son
26:19Father to son, mother to son, mother to son
26:21Father to son, mother to son, mother to son
26:23Father to son, mother to son, mother to son
26:25Father to son, mother to son, mother to son
26:27Father to son, mother to son, mother to son
26:29Father to son, mother to son, mother to son
26:31Father to son, mother to son, mother to son
26:33I'm the wolves that burn in birds
26:41I'm the fire, I sit down in my boat
26:47With frozen bells and blue and voices
26:53Don't mind playing with better choices
26:59Father to sing, mother to daughter, let's go
27:05Mother to your dad
27:08Father to son, mother to daughter, let's go
27:17Mother to your dad
27:21It's a year for generations
27:28Sing a song of war on nations
27:34Sing a song of war on nations
27:40Sing a song of war on nations
27:46Sing a song of war on nations
27:53Sing a song of war on nations
27:59What can you say?
28:09Oh, I know what I'm going to say next
28:11That's really, it's sort of a dance track
28:22But it's a bit depressing to dance
28:24I hope so, yeah
28:25The version on the album is very dancey
28:29Oh, you could dance for peace
28:32Oh, you could dance for peace
28:36Oh, I've changed guitar because this is even more tricky
28:54It's a picky song
28:56I want to just write Dean
28:58I wrote this song in the Gambia
29:12Is it last year or the year before?
29:16Perhaps last year
29:17And it's, we visit a lovely lodge in the Gambia
29:21And we've been going for years and years
29:22Probably 20 years now
29:23And when I first went there
29:25There were these bushes that were like really small
29:28And they're now huge tall trees
29:31And I was sitting there in our room
29:33And it was a really windy day
29:35And I was watching the trees
29:36And they were just bending
29:37And I just thought, wow
29:38It's really lucky that trees don't break generally
29:42When in the wind
29:43And it gave me the idea for this song
29:44It's called Watch the Trees
29:46Someone find my guitarist
29:58Watch the trees
30:00I'm going to find the words first
30:20Just in case
30:20Because
30:21I don't want to mess this one up
30:24You don't want the words for
30:28Sing a song of All Our Nations
30:29To a nice picky tree song
30:31Sorry, starting it
30:33Sorry
30:33Watch the trees
30:53Bend in the wind
30:57Bend again
31:01So you don't break
31:03Go with the flow
31:08Swim with the currents
31:13Tides will turn in their way
31:19Chill life's rhythm
31:32With the rhythm within
31:36See how your breath comes and goes
31:43Stay with the flow
31:49While the world rages on
31:53How long we'll be in a one house
32:00The earth goes round the sun
32:04While the moon goes round the earth
32:08Hands on the clock
32:12Go round each day
32:15The earth goes round the sun
32:19While the moon goes round the earth
32:24The hands on the clock
32:28Go round each day
32:30So wash the trees
32:58Bend in the wind
33:00Bend in the wind
33:02Learn to bend
33:06So you don't break
33:08Stay in the flow
33:13While the world rages on
33:17How long we'll be in a one house
33:24How long we'll be in a one house
33:31How long we'll be in a one house
33:34And we'll be in our wonder
34:00This next song, I'm so delighted to have Jimmy with us
34:03because I wrote this song, actually I wrote this one in Gambia as well
34:06I seem to write lots of songs there
34:08and it's just about destiny
34:10basically, it doesn't, I don't think
34:12the song says its own story
34:14but it's very much a Spanish feel
34:16and we have Jimmy Can here on the guitar
34:19doing some lovely
34:20Spanish guitar
34:21Okay
34:26His strap's twisted
34:29Throw the dice
34:46Spin the wheel and see
34:48What twisted fate
34:52Will run and spark
34:54Make me
34:54All believe
34:58Behold the cards
35:00Look mean
35:01Mammal beans
35:04Fish or bird
35:06Is destiny
35:07Destiny
35:10Destiny
35:12Destiny
35:13Destiny
35:16We like to think
35:23We have the choice
35:24Not me
35:25King Canoes
35:29Trying to stop
35:31We'll sing
35:31We say all's fair
35:35In love and warm
35:37Not me
35:38Norse or Sarah's
35:42East or West
35:43Is destiny
35:44Now that we're here
35:49We should do our best
35:51Don't try to be
35:55Just try for the rest
35:57Live from the heart
36:01Care for this world
36:04Don't leave a trace
36:07Memories
36:08Memories
36:09Memories
36:10Memories
36:12Memories
36:13Memories
36:15Memories
36:17Memories
36:18Memories
36:19Memories
36:20Memories
36:22Memories
36:24Memories
36:26Memories
36:28Memories
36:30Memories
36:31Memories
36:32Memories
36:33Memories
36:34Memories
36:35Throw the dice, spin away and sing
37:05What is the fate for a random small made me?
37:11The opening of the cards of me
37:17Man or beast, fish or bear with destiny
37:24Now that we're here, we should do our best
37:30Not trying to be just like all the words
37:36Now fill your heart, head full of sweat
37:42Don't leave your trace, only memory
37:48Memories, memories, memories
38:26I want to put this into something.
38:32Could be easier just to go back to an old fashioned book
38:46Wouldn't it?
38:50That's alright.
38:52I don't know.
38:54It's alright if I kept all his happy.
38:58No.
39:00Come on.
39:02This song is called The Healing Train
39:18It's the title track of my second album
39:22I can't begin to explain this one
39:25It's a really weird song
39:27But it was written in Dorset
39:29The words
39:31Has anyone been to the Lama Tree Festival?
39:35It's an absolutely glorious place
39:37Peacocks
39:39Beautiful landscape
39:41Lovely people, it was really nice
39:43And in a nutshell
39:45I wrote the lyrics
39:47The tune I wrote in Africa
39:49I couldn't get any words
39:51And these words came to me
39:53When I was having a Hopi candle session
39:55If anyone knows what that is
39:57In a sort of hippie marquee called The Healing Tree
40:01And this came to me in one go
40:03So I can't really explain more than that
40:05You have to just
40:07That's what it was
40:09It's called The Healing Tree
40:11And Mark has learnt
40:13I play the flute in this one on my album
40:15Not at the same time as playing the guitar and singing
40:17As you can imagine
40:19But Mark's just started learning the flute
40:21And he's very impressively learnt this
40:23Especially to play with this track
40:25So, thank you Mark
40:33So The Healing Tree
40:35I've got to play it slow
40:37I keep telling me to play this one slow
40:41Oh yeah
40:43Oh yeah
40:47Pat is going to call us
40:49He calls us
40:51Well just, yeah
40:55Okay
40:57Let's go
40:59Here I am
41:09Welcome to my world
41:11Warm winds across the purple plains
41:13Warm winds across the purple plains
41:23The candles melt away the pain
41:31Civilians upon your face
41:39Golden light fills in a space
41:47Ancient books and decode clouds
41:55Imagine the time of stone at the oars
42:03In siren dress, the colours sky
42:12May edge it up, the loving house
42:20Swords written by stick hearts
42:39Searching for ways to fix the song
42:45How very strange and clear
42:52The healing dream of the past is coming
45:02He's only just started learning the food, and he's only learned this over the last two
45:05weeks.
45:06I'm really impressed.
45:07So much, Mark.
45:13okay so this is the last one this is the title track of the new album it's called until i see
45:31you stay and this is the song i wrote to my younger self if you look if that makes sense
45:39but it could be could be anything else could be written to someone else
46:09so
46:26you've got the chance
46:29have you lost your voice where have you gone you were so strong
46:41you used to walk so tall now you're feeling so
46:47you used to walk so tall now you're feeling so
47:05and i can hear you shout there's no way out
47:13there's a little spot going in the dark
47:21and i can see it shine in this heart of mine
47:29stuck in the river deep
47:33caught in a weary sleep
47:37i won't let you down
47:41i won't let you drown
47:45from the risen top
47:49if you take my hand
47:53i will never stop
47:57until you're back on me
48:03i won't let you down
48:05so
48:15i don't know
48:17i don't know
48:19i don't know
48:21i don't know
48:23So can the river be, cold in a weary sea, I won't let you down, I won't let you down.
48:48If you take my hand, you will never stand, I won't let you down, I won't let you down.
49:09If you take my hand, you will never stand, I won't let you down, I won't let you down.
49:31I won't let you down, I won't let you down, I won't let you down.
49:43I won't let you down, I won't let you down.
49:55One more tune.
49:59If I could do one then.
50:03If I could remember.
50:04I do have to apologise, as you see, I'm serious, if anyone knows a guitarist, who hates writing songs and who loves to play other people's songs, he's the man of a woman for me.
50:17This is, you could say this song is, the theme of this song is like a secret affair.
50:30It's definitely the last one.
50:40It was the last affair I'm ever going to have, because I'm very happy in America.
50:49It was fun while it lasted.
50:51I thought it was naughty.
50:58Oh sorry, I forgot, my children, my tiny children are in the room.
51:08This one's quite good with a harmonica, but I haven't got one, so.
51:14It's good at a full orchestra as well, isn't it?
51:16Yeah, for what?
51:17With a full orchestra, it's good.
51:18Oh yeah, a full orchestra.
51:19It's called Five Years Ago.
51:21It's called Five Years Ago.
51:22Two, two, three.
51:27One, two, three.
51:28One, three.
51:29Ships in the night
51:47Couldn't say no
51:51Wasn't love
51:55Nowhere to go
51:58Such an old friend
52:10But on so long
52:14Wanted to end
52:17I know it's not
52:21Going
52:24But it's so hard
52:43To find someone new
52:47Pick up the phone
52:51It's always you
52:54Five years have passed
53:13Still can't say no
53:17Isn't love
53:21Get up and go
53:24Going
53:27Get up and go
53:32If you think
53:34I'm certain
53:37You're a little
53:39I'm certain
53:40It's always you
53:42I'm certain
53:44I'm certain
53:46You're a little
53:47I'm going nowhere far
54:05Ships in the night
54:14Ships in the night
54:20It wasn't love

55:24Over the years
55:26Firstly my daughter Andrea
55:28She's encouraged me
55:30And supported me with my songwriting
55:34Literally from the very start
55:36And did the daughter night with her son James
55:38There's got Peter on the left
55:40On the side

56:00Actually it wasn't about him that one
56:08That was about someone

56:12I know it sounds awful
56:14Sometimes something can happen in your life
56:16And at the time you say
56:17Oh God that was really shit
56:18But it can lead to a song
56:20For me that's a good result
56:26And I said to David wherever he's gone
