00:00Seek recognition. Hello, good afternoon. Mr. Speaker, I ask for unanimous consent to address
00:06the House and to revise and extend my remarks. Without objection, the gentleman was recognized
00:11for one minute. Mr. Speaker, black history is American history. Indigenous history is American
00:21history. Latino history is American history. And women and LGBTQ plus history is American
00:29history. And we will not be silenced. No illegal or unconscionable executive orders can erase
00:38American history. No firing of generals or federal workers. No banning of books or threats to schools.
00:46No purge of websites or removal of artifacts from the Smithsonian or any other institution.
00:54And certainly, no change to our national holidays will erase American history. Because the people
01:03of this country will not be silenced. And we will not allow this president to turn back the clock to
01:11take away American rights. And we will keep speaking. We will keep marching. And we will keep fighting to
01:20protect our democracy. Because this is our country. And we are not going back. I yield.
