On Monday (April 28) at the Workers' Party (WP) rally, WP's Sylvia Lim spoke about the challenges women face in Singapore's opposition politics, which she described as a 'tricky'.

She emphasised the strength of female candidates, advocating for increased female representation in Parliament to create more balanced policies.

00:08If you're elected into parliament, we are expected to confront government ministers robustly,
00:16but perhaps not too aggressively.
00:20And luckily for me, my husband found these qualities attractive.
00:26However, over the years in parliament, I have been called many names
00:35and been fiercely attacked by some ministers.
00:44But I fought back with everything I had.
00:48So my friends, looking at our slate of female candidates this GE,
00:58all I can say is, Mama Bear here is proud.
01:02Our dear voters in Aljunit, Haugang, Sengkang, Ponggol, Jalan Kayu, East Coast,
01:17Tampenese and Tampenese Changkat.
01:21If these candidates do not get elected this time,
01:26there may be no next time.
