00:00than Joe Biden.
00:01That's right.
00:02Caroline.
00:03Sure, go ahead.
00:04Mr. Homan, talking about the border wall,
00:07can you give us an update as far as how many miles are being built today?
00:11And is Mexico paying for it, as the president said that we're going to?
00:16Well, first of all, I'll answer that question,
00:18because I already answered it in my opening remarks.
00:20To date, since January 1st, there's been more than 85 miles of new border wall construction
00:25in various stages of that construction and planning.
00:28The president has made it clear to Congress that we want to see more funding
00:33for not just border wall construction, but also to support our ICE agents
00:38and our Border Patrol agents who are on the ground facilitating with this mass deportation effort.
00:42So he's clear that Mexico is not going to pay for it?
00:45Is that what you're saying?
00:46Let's address that.
00:48Trump said Mexico won't pay for the wall.
00:50They have in a roundabout way, have they not?
00:52Putting 10,000 military on the northern and southern border,
00:55taking the action they did to remain in Mexico.
00:57They didn't have to do that.
00:58They're doing it, putting military on the southern border,
01:00have moved illegal immigration to a record low.
01:03We're saving millions of dollars every day on detention, transportation, removal proceedings.
01:10We've more than made up for the cost of that wall because of the actions of Mexico.
01:14So is Mexico helping build that wall?
01:15Yeah, because we're saving so much money, millions of dollars a day,
01:19that we can afford to build that wall.
01:21So actually, yes, they're helping to build the wall.
