00:00Final segment, Vecchio, but of course we focus on the Stanley Cup playoffs.
00:04The Hurricanes up 3-1 over the New Jersey Devils.
00:07And Carolina continues to have the shortest price in comparison to the rest of our Stanley Cup playoff contenders.
00:144-1 price on the Canes, plus $6.50 on the Panthers as those reigning Stanley Cup champs.
00:20The Caps have a 3-1 series lead.
00:23The Jets, who had one of the shortest prices entering the postseason, Vecchio,
00:27and early on in the opening round, now in a tussle, 2-2 series tie against the St. Louis Blues.
00:35How do you make sense of where the Stanley Cup odds stand at this moment?
00:39Well, someone that has a Jets ticket at 20-1, which I bet on November 12th,
00:43I am heartbroken by the fact that we are seeing the exact same thing from them
00:47as we've seen in previous postseasons, where Conor Hellebuck is just not performing.
00:52And it's partly his fault. It's partly the defense in front of him.
00:55It's their fault. It's just all over the place.
00:57The Blues have been on fire, as we know, like a 13-game win streak.
01:00Great second half of the season for them.
01:02At this point, it's really shaping up where the Avs look so dangerous.
01:07They really do.
01:08And at the price that we're getting them at, I think they are in a good spot
01:10because when it comes down to it, I think the Avs are still better than the Blues.
01:14That's what it really comes down to.
01:15And if the Avs take on the Blues in the second round,
01:19I think the Avs will be, at that point, the favorite, the clear favorite that is,
01:22it's not just this jumble mix in the West, to win the West.
01:25And that puts them in a really good spot because I have no faith in Edmonton,
01:28despite the fact that they've won two games in a row.
01:30They are not winning in a conducive fashion to playoff hockey.
01:34Winning games 4-3, 5-3 is not what we should be seeing.
01:37So the Avs just look so good right now.
01:39A crazy game last night for Edmonton over the Kings.
01:45They were trailing.
01:45They scored the game-tying goal in regulation with fewer than 30 seconds remaining.
01:50Leon Dreisaitl scoring early in OT to give the Oilers the win.
01:55Vecchio, all four of our opening round sets from the Western Conference
01:58perspective tied at two games apiece right now.
02:03A lot that we love so far in the Stanley Cup postseason,
02:07including our fifth game tonight in Dallas between the Stars and the Avalanche.
02:13Again, tied at two games apiece.
02:15Colorado won the opening game in game number four.
02:18Dallas winning the two games in between.
02:21The Stars back on home ice in Big D.
02:23Vecchio, but a slight underdog tonight.
02:26Does that line make sense to you?
02:28It does.
02:29The Avs look so good.
02:30Dallas, especially Jake Ottinger, just kind of all over the place
02:33and not really what we should be expecting from that defense overall.
02:36I think there is just objective value on taking a home team with plus money.
02:41We can get at plus 116 on the money line.
02:42I think that's fine.
02:43It is 5.5 for the total.
02:45It's juice to the over.
02:46So that is implying that we should be seeing some goals.
02:48So we see that goal early.
02:49And then if that's the point, if the line jumps up to 6.5,
02:53I'd be willing to take under 6.5, even if it is with juice.
02:56Minus 130, minus 140, whatever it might be.
02:58I see this game ending, you know, 3-2, 4-2.
03:01So I don't want to play the 4-2.
03:03That's what I'm expecting the final score to be.
03:04I don't want to play that with 5.5.
03:05I'd rather go under 6.5 with juice again if we do get that line.
03:10The Avs at a 7-1 number to win Lord Stanley's Cup.
03:13Shortest price of any team right now from the Western Conference.
03:16Road favorite in Game 5 tonight.
03:18Series tied at 2-all.
03:20A Game 4 tonight as well in the Sunshine State Showdown.
03:23Of course, Vecchio, the reigning Stanley Cup champs, that's second-best price of plus 6.50.
03:28But they're not the team with the advantage in their opening round series against their in-state foes.
03:33The Lightning, winning in Game 3 in Sunrise, have that 2-1 series lead.
03:39The Bolts, though, a road underdog tonight in Game 4.
03:42Will Florida equalize in this opening round set?
03:45I mean, I don't know who's going to win, but this game's all about the underdog.
03:49We've seen this kind of back and forth.
03:51You have a ton of goals, no goals, a ton of goals.
03:54Game 4 sets up to have very, very low scoring.
03:57And when we look at some of the advanced numbers, you know, we are seeing the Lightning, at least in Game 2.
04:00We saw them have some really solid high danger chances, which come close to net inside the slot.
04:05They weren't converting in.
04:06What do you know?
04:06In Game 3, they score a ton of goals.
04:08So I expect that inverse to happen, where they're not going to have the chances,
04:11and they're not going to be scoring a ton of goals, because Florida and Paul Maurice, as the head coach,
04:15always make those game-to-game adjustments.
04:17So I don't know who wins.
04:18I think it's largely a coin flip.
04:20Minus 142 is somewhat accurate in the price.
04:22I would put it at minus 125, but under 5.5 is the clear play for this matchup.
04:27It is as well, Vecchio.
04:28Interesting to see the Bolts having a 2-1 series lead.
04:31Pretty close split here in terms of those money line prices for Game 4.
04:35But the Lightning, not one of those 10 best prices to win the Stanley Cup at this moment.
04:42Not on that board, despite the fact the team they had the series lead over the reigning champs,
04:47the Florida Panthers, at plus 650.
04:49Tom Vecchio, as always, your time is the best time.
04:52Great prop perspective on this Monday.
04:54That does it for us on this Monday on the early line as well.
04:58Talk to you tomorrow, 8 a.m. Eastern, here on The Grid.
