00:00After several days of intensive training across the Philippine archipelago,
00:04Fulcain and U.S. forces continue to advance through the 2025 iteration of their annual
00:10Multilateral Maritime Event, or the MME, a crucial component of the ongoing Balikatan exercises
00:16recorded as the most complex in the history of the drills.
00:21This year's activity reflects the evolving and increasingly sophisticated nature of global security challenges.
00:28PTV's J.M. Pineda tells us more.
00:35Earlier today, the Philippine Navy began a casualty evacuation simulation,
00:39which is part of the Multilateral Maritime Exercises of Balikatan 2025.
00:43During the exercise, they carefully placed the patient on a stretcher and conducted a medical check
00:48before loading the patient into a helicopter.
00:51They also ensured that the safety straps were properly secured to guarantee the patient's safety.
00:55The patient was then airlifted to a treatment facility for medical attention.
01:01This is one of the scenarios which was carried out by the Philippine Navy personnel of the BRP Ramon Alcaraz,
01:07which could be useful in situations when soldiers need to transport an injured person to a hospital.
01:12The patient, the Philippine Navy helicopter,
01:16The Philippine Navy helicopter AW109.
01:42Commander Cruzada also emphasized that treating patients aboard the ship is among the most challenging conditions
01:48so it is essential for soldiers to know what to do in such situations.
01:53Mabigyan ng karampatan at kaagad na lunas sa mga pasyente na dito sa barko
01:58para madala ka agad dito sa ating treatment facility sa kalupan.
02:03Cruzada also clarified that these exercises is not a preparation for any attack but simply part of their training.
02:10He added also that the exercise could be applied to various crisis situation.
02:33The Philippine Navy also reiterated that they remained focused on their mission to strengthen their forces
02:38despite the presence of Chinese PLA Navy ships during the Balikatan exercises.
02:43The safety of all participants in the MME of Balikatan is also the top priority for the Philippine Navy.
02:49That's why they continued to monitor the boomers of Chinese vessels closely during the exercises.
02:55From PTB Manila, JM Pineda, Balitang Pambansa.
