00:00Hello everyone out there in Sony-land, this is Hugo Martin, Game Director on Doom The Dark Ages,
00:13reporting to you live from the offices here at id Software.
00:17Well actually it's a recording, but that's okay.
00:20We're here today to talk about Doom The Dark Ages, releasing May 15th on PlayStation 5.
00:26And that's right around the corner, I can't believe it.
00:28I think this is the best Doom game we've ever made.
00:32We gave this everything we've had, we left no feature unpolished.
00:36We've got 22 levels of incredible FPS single player combat.
00:42Tons of gameplay innovations like the shield saw, flail, crazy guns, with huge worlds to explore,
00:51and an awesome rollercoaster ride of an action story to carry you through to the finish.
00:56This will be an epic odyssey through a savage world full of powerful villains, crazy locations, and awesomely brutal weapons.
01:05But if you've been following along, you've heard all this before.
01:08You know Doom The Dark Ages is a premium single player campaign featuring three core pillars of engagement.
01:14Combat, story, and exploration.
01:16I'm guessing you tuned in because you want to hear something new.
01:21Something about the game no one else has heard about.
01:24Well I've got a good one for you.
01:29We have, as I said, fantastic worlds to explore throughout the story.
01:34One of them is totally unique for a Doom game.
01:37A space we've never been to, but a world I've wanted to incorporate into the Doom universe for a while.
01:44The Cosmic Realm.
01:51You will bear witness to the Cyclopean architecture of this Lovecraftian dimension
01:56as you explore its darkest secrets and battle its most insane enemies.
02:03An unholy union between Hell and the Cosmic Realm has been formed.
02:08Why, you ask?
02:09Well, you're going to need to watch the story to find out.
02:11No spoilers here today.
02:13But this partnership has given birth to some new type of adversaries for the Slayer to fight.
02:18Enemies like the Cosmic Baron.
02:20Twin-bladed Brute, he attacks with relentless pressure.
02:23And at range, releases a flurry of psionic attacks that can block your projectiles
02:27and rip through your precious health.
02:29But fear not, because embedded in his attacks are parry windows
02:33that a skilled Doom Slayer should be able to exploit
02:35should he or she be brave enough to stand and fight.
02:40All the strongest foes in Dark Ages require this kind of aggression.
02:44You weave your way through the maze of projectiles, just like in Classic Doom,
02:48to then go toe-to-toe with the biggest demons we've ever created.
02:53And after you've dispatched with the Cosmic Baron,
02:59be careful, because rising above the dark horizon,
03:02you'll find the powerful Cacodemon,
03:04a hybrid between the two dimensions and newly designed for this game.
03:08This floating mass of telepathic terror will stun players with his advanced shield attacks
03:13and cripple you with his tentacle strikes should you allow him to get close.
03:17But you can counter these enemies' assaults with a new weapon,
03:21born from the mollusk swamps of the Carthul marshes,
03:24an ancient tool from dimensions beyond our own.
03:27The Reaver Shot.
03:31A brutal ballistic iron mace of death.
03:35Fire it quickly to unleash a light attack to a single foe.
03:39Hold down the trigger to charge the Chaos Sphere
03:41and unleash brutal long-range melee strikes,
03:44turning your enemy's insides into demonic pulp.
03:47This weapon is unlike anything we've ever had in an id game.
03:50It brings the fantastic melee combat featured in Doom the Dark Ages
03:54to a whole new, brutal level of bone-breaking destruction.
03:58The sound, the design, the visuals, this weapon is amazing.
04:02There are so many more secrets to reveal and legends to forge here
04:10in this new world we've crafted for you.
04:12I think you'll find your time here to be full of intrigue
04:15and bloody bone-crunching mayhem.
