00:00Thank you Mr Speaker and can I wish you and the House a happy St George's Day as well.
00:05I recently had the pleasure to visit the National Gas Operations in Peterborough, where the company
00:11was announcing a £350 million investment in the UK, including 100 new jobs at least
00:18in my constituency. This investment will make Peterborough the centre of the nation's
00:23core gas and hydrogen network. But one of the big challenges that infrastructure projects
00:28like this face is the lack of available skills and training for young people. So can I ask
00:34the Prime Minister what more he can do to boost apprenticeships in places like mine and ensure
00:39we create the opportunities this country so desperately needs?
00:43Can I thank my hon. Friend. The net zero transition is a huge economic opportunity for this country,
00:50despite the naysayers on the opposition benches. We have had almost £44 billion of investment
00:57since July, and that will deliver jobs across the country including in his constituency investment,
01:02presumably they don't want. We are ensuring we have got skilled workers that we need, launching
01:07the Skills England and our new Growth and Skills offer to encourage even more apprenticeships,
01:12and supporting industry-led Plan for Hydrogen to deliver the workforce needed for the industry
01:16of the future.
