Hundreds gather in Paris to honour victim of fatal mosque attack

French authorities on Monday said the main suspect in the murder surrendered to law enforcement officials in Italy the night before.

00:00Hundreds of people gathered in a rally against Islamophobia in Paris on Sunday.
00:08Demonstrators came together to pay tribute to the man who was fatally stabbed
00:12while praying in a mosque in southern France on Friday.
00:16We are here to bring our support, to say that these acts are not their place here
00:22and to make sure that it does not happen.
00:25We have a system, we have a state that is afraid and it is this fear that we take in full faith.
00:30But in the face, we are there, the people, the French people are there and no one is afraid.
00:35French leaders condemned the attack.
00:38Prime Minister François Bayrou denounced the attack as Islamophobic
00:42and President Emmanuel Macron emphasized France will not tolerate racism and hatred based on religion.
00:49Authorities say the suspect has been identified but is still on the run.
00:55They have reassured they are working around the clock to arrest the man.
