05:53So we take in all the lost, stray, abandoned, neglected animals in our area and try to find

05:59There are tons of mixed breed, but then you can also have dogs that are full breed dogs.

06:04I've gotten a boxer from a rescue.
06:06I've also gotten a Maine Coon Cat from a rescue, as well as a foxhound.
06:11And those are full breed animals.
06:13And I also have some mixed breed dogs, and they're all lovely.

06:27This is a really cool shelter.
06:29They actually have a hospital and volunteers that walk the dogs, take them on field trips.

07:52We met a ton of dogs, but today we're going to focus on just three.

10:14We've got lots of trash here.
10:16In order to make a spider costume, we've got to start by making the spider body.
10:20So today we're going to make a spider for Bella.
10:23Now that spider is going to be really easy because I found a lot of really cool things to reuse.
10:27For Bella's spider, we're going to reuse things like worn metal hangers, a feather boa, plastic cups,
10:34and a used black shopping bag filled with my old recycled newspapers.
10:39What is this?
10:41Oh, I've been looking for that.
10:43Yeah, this newspaper will be perfect.
10:47We've just got to crumple it up.
10:48Yeah.
10:49Crumple.
10:49Get to work.

10:55I think we've got it pretty full.
10:58Then we're going to seal it with a rubber band and hot glue the base.
11:01So make sure when you're using a glue gun, you always have an adult with you, okay?
11:05And I like to have a little cup of ice water because glue gums are hot.
11:09And if you accidentally touch your finger to it, just dip your finger into the cold ice water.
11:13You won't burn yourself.
11:14So I'm just going to put a little bit here.
11:16And then I'm just going to push it down and kind of hold it.
11:20Yeah, you've done this before, huh?
11:21I love to craft, Oscar.

11:25Crafting's the best.
11:27So for the legs, we're going to use wire hangers.
11:29Cut the wire part in half and then bend it into the shape of a spider leg.

11:37We've got to really make sure this looks like a tarantula.
11:40So, like, black furry legs.
11:43What about these?
11:44Oh, yeah.

11:55Oscar was a little bit grumpy today.

12:12And then where the joints would be, we'll use red tinsel and wrap it around and secure that as well with some hot glue.

12:25We're going to make some eyeballs out of these cups.
12:28For the spider's eyes, we use a black marker and then we cut it out as a little circle for the eyes.

12:45That's a lot of eyeballs.
12:47The spider's going to make some adorable dog look creepy and crawly, all right.

12:59And thank you for your very unique eye because now our costume is going to be super unique for Bella.

13:10So when we were at the rescue shelter, there was a dog that really took to Oscar.
13:15So, I thought it would be fun to bring in a couple of helpers to make an Oscar-themed Halloween costume I think he's going to love.
13:25Okay, Tango, we're going to turn this wagon into a garbage truck for Oscar's puppy friend, Gus.
13:34Oh, but don't tell anybody.
13:35It's a surprise.

13:40Okay, Tango, we're going to use some cardboard and paint it for the sides
13:45and use some glue to make it look like a garbage truck.

14:45Well, it's Tuesday somewhere.
14:47To make our taco, we'll need things like used cardboard, a soggy pool noodle, felt scraps, paint, and an old mop.
14:56The first thing we need to do is make the taco shell, right?
14:59For the taco, we're going to start with cardboard.
15:01We're going to paint it on the brown side with yellow paint.
15:05So, we've got to fill this taco up right here with some fun stuff.
15:08First things first, got to get the lettuce in there, right?
15:11Yeah.
15:11The lettuce is going to be from green felt.
15:13We'll just cut strips and make little cuts into those along the length.
15:16And we're going to glue gun the lettuce to our taco.
15:21So, Oscar, if you were to make a taco, what would be your favorite topping?
15:25Oh, jalapenos.
15:27Yeah?
15:28Definitely.
15:28Yeah, because jalapenos make you sweat, right?
15:32All sweaty.
15:32And then you get sweat stains and smell up the place.

15:38So, then we're going to make some jalapenos out of pool noodles.
15:42That really pops when you cut into it.
15:45Are you sure you're not making jalapeno poppers?
15:47We're going to cut them and then paint them with green paint to make them look like jalapenos.
15:55Then, we're going to make some cheese.

17:31So, we talked about making a jet pack for Journey.
17:45And, Oscar, we rummaged through a little bit of your trash, and I think I found some good things to make it.
17:50Yeah, to make our jet pack, we'll need things like recycled bottles, can lids, old paper towel rolls, aluminum foil, and red tape.
18:00So, for the jet pack, we're going to re-use plastic bottles and cover them with aluminum foil so they look like the actual jet packs.
18:08Oscar, you're done already.
18:11Yeah, you know, it's my trash.
18:14I know how to use it.
18:15I'm going to tape them up with some red tape so they'll hold together.
18:18And then I found some other lids around, even from the plastic bottles.
18:22We're going to color those up, and we'll use those, like, as little, I don't know, push buttons, you know?

18:29We've got our jet pack for our doggie.
18:31Yeah, and I even put a little space muck on it.
