Unnao: Arun Gupta Alleges Harassment by Wife and In-Laws, Claims Police Intimidation

Arun Gupta, a resident of 15/330 Champapurva, Shuklaganj (near Sarvodaya Vidya Mandir School), has accused his wife Meenu and her family of continuous harassment and attempts to forcibly grab his property. Gupta, who is battling liver cirrhosis, alleged that he is often beaten, mentally tortured, and pressured into suicide by his wife and in-laws.

He also claimed that they are threatening him with false police cases to weaken him further and take over his assets. Despite his deteriorating health and repeated pleas, no one has come forward to support him.

Initially, Unnao Police responded by stating that the In-charge Inspector of Gangaghat was directed to investigate and take appropriate action. However, in a disturbing update, Gupta alleges that instead of helping him, police officers are now intimidating him, urging him not to post videos about his situation online.

He says he has lost faith in the system, questioning how authorities can threaten a victim instead of ensuring his protection.

This case raises serious concerns about the misuse of power, the vulnerability of individuals facing domestic abuse, and the urgent need for independent and transparent investigation to ensure justice.
