00:00As politicians, fail to deeply listen to what our people are trying to tell us.
00:05I've been in politics since 2004, and I never ever used or expressed love to anybody.
00:14So I was saying to people that I want to help you.
00:16I was working hard to help people, but I was not expressing the reason I was working.
00:23And so on the yatra, I started to do so.
00:27So, a little girl came up to me running, and she said, Uncle, I love you.
00:31And I was like, that's interesting.
00:32Why have I never said this before?
00:34Why have I never used this narrative that is the central narrative and the reason for what I do?
00:41And so I started.
00:43I would listen, and then I would use the frame of love and affection, and I would tell people.
00:48Since I started saying to people these sort of uncomfortable words,
00:52that, listen, I love you, and that's why I do what I do, that's why I work.
00:57Suddenly, they started to respond.
00:59On the yatra, we got a slogan.
01:01The slogan in Hindi is,
01:04Nafrat ke bazaar mein mohabbat ki dukaan.
01:07Which people who understand Hindi will speak, will translate.
01:10But what it basically means,
01:12that is that in a marketplace of hatred,
01:17you are opening a shop of love.
01:22Now, this slogan became very, very powerful in India.
01:27The idea that,
01:28no matter how much hatred someone spreads,
01:31the biggest and most powerful way to disrupt them
01:34is not to copy them,
01:36not to argue with them,
01:38not to fight with them,
01:39but right in front of their hatred
01:43to place the idea of love and affection.
