00:00Is it hygienic to brush the microphone and then brush my face?
00:12We'll see.
00:15Hello everyone, it's Bryce Dallas Howard.
00:18Today I'm going to show you how to touch up your look by touching up my look, which I do need to do.
00:30What do we have in here?
00:33Okay, everyone, this is very cool.
00:35So, I was on a plane and there was a lady behind me and she was talking to the guy next to her.
00:43He was like, what do you do?
00:44And she said, well, I have this makeup company.
00:47We make it really convenient so that it can be stackable.
00:51And I was like, wait, what?
00:55But I couldn't say anything because I didn't want her to know that I was eavesdropping.
01:01So, I was like stealing myself to kind of try to say something to her so I could find out what it was that she had created.
01:09So, we had to do a connecting flight that we almost missed.
01:13So, we were like running and I lost sight of her.
01:16And I was like, shoot.
01:18But our phones listen to us.
01:21They don't just listen to us.
01:22They listen to our thoughts.
01:24And on my Instagram, I saw an ad that this woman was doing.
01:29And it was for this subtle stack.
01:32Okay, so here's what's cool about it.
01:34Is that it's a stack.
01:36And it has everything that you could possibly want to do your face.
01:41Apart from, say, mascara.
01:43And what you do is you...
01:51See?
01:52This is a cream highlighter.
01:54I'm gonna do a lipstick because that's what I need to redo.
02:02I like kind of like deeper lip shades.
02:17Because I'm kind of pale.
02:19And I can look very ghostly very easily.
02:23So, this kind of makes me come alive again when I put something on my lips.
02:29I like like berry colors, deeper colors.
02:34I don't really like coral.
02:36So, let me just show you some other things.
02:38So, there's this.
02:39I'm gonna do a little lip glaze.
02:45Oh, I haven't even opened this one.
02:49This is more of a red.
02:51There's a mirror there.
02:52That's why I'm slumping down.
02:53I'm being told that I can lift up the mirror rather than slinking down to fit inside of the mirror.
03:07So convenient.
03:08I actually do need a touch-up.
03:15Okay.
03:16Now I'm gonna get my brush.
03:21Which is at the bottom of the stack.
03:25And at the top of the stack...
03:27I forgot about this.
03:28There's a mirror.
03:29I don't even need to slink down to use this mirror.
03:32I can just use this mirror.
03:33I swear it's gonna open.
03:35There.
03:36Okay.
03:37I'm gonna do that again.
03:38Closer to the thing.
03:46See, there's a mirror.
03:49Does that sound like anything?
03:53Is it hygienic to brush the microphone and then brush my face?
04:00We'll see.
04:02Okay, the concealer's here.
04:05I am someone who probably only powders my face.
04:18I'm comfortable being greasy.
04:21Like, that's okay for me.
04:23I don't know.
04:24I'm not a big touch-up person once I have my face.
04:27But here's the problem.
04:29I almost never do my makeup at home.
04:32Like, never.
04:34Makeup happens in the car.
04:36When I'm directing, it's really interesting because I'm used to being an actor on set where they're constantly coming up to you and just making sure that you look cute and you don't have to worry about anything.
04:50But then when I direct, it was a bit of a rude awakening because I would go to the restroom and I would look in the mirror and I would just be like, I'm a human tumbleweed.
05:01Like, what is happening?
05:03I had to kind of think of, you know, okay, so what are some things that I can do very quickly that will make me be okay in this space so that people aren't worried about me?
05:17Because that's kind of what happens when I don't wear anything is they're like, are you okay?
05:22Like, who wants to be told that when they're perfectly fine?
05:26They just haven't put on lipstick, right?
05:28So, as a director, this subtle stack is a game changer.
05:41Even though it comes with a brush, which by the way, here's the little brush cleaner.
05:46Also, sometimes I go through periods of time where because I don't want to lug around stuff with me, I just give up and don't bring anything and don't wear anything.
05:58And then sometimes I'll look back at photos and I do not have self-esteem issues.
06:03I don't, but I do think to myself, couldn't I have just taken a two-minute trip to the bathroom?
06:10And so, in this case, it's just like the easiest thing in the world.
06:14So anyway, thank you Rachel, thank you for letting me stalk you.
06:17I'm just gonna share, like, I literally, this is so funny.
06:22Okay, so I brought two of my Waleda skin creams.
06:27I use so much of this and they're both, like, out.
06:32But I use Waleda on my face, on my lips, on my hands.
06:41This might be kind of crazy, but I'll use it sometimes, like, for eye cream.
06:47I just love that the cream is really thick and oily.
06:52I maybe could have gotten a new one for this, but...
06:57So here's the thing.
06:59With this, it will have a white cast for a moment or two or a minute or two or whatever.
07:06But then it seeps in.
07:08So I might look weird for a second, but just hang there with me.
07:11I do get a little dry underneath my under eyes.
07:27I never put powder underneath my eyes or anything, because I get dry.
07:34Okay, I wanted to share my favorite sunscreen, and I know that sunscreen is not sexy.
07:43Like, it's not a thing that you're like, ooh, look at this sunscreen.
07:47I got the best sunscreen.
07:49Like, it's not like that, right?
07:50But this sunscreen, I've gotten to the point where I don't feel ready unless I put this sunscreen on.
08:01Not because it's, like, a sunscreen thing, but, like, the texture of the sunscreen is so lovely.
08:06So this is the sunscreen.
08:08Many, many years ago, I was at a conference, and I saw a lady there with really pale skin, like mine, and red hair.
08:18You clock people that look like you out there, and you're like, what makeup are they wearing?
08:23What's their hair like?
08:24All that kind of thing.
08:26So I ended up talking to her at some point, and she works in, like, special forces.
08:33She spends a lot of time in Afghanistan and swears by the sunscreen.
08:39And I was like, okay, lady, if you're living in Afghanistan and wearing the sunscreen and vouching by it, like, then I can do that because I, like, all I do is sit around.
08:53I shook the sunscreen on my hand.
09:14Okay, good enough.
09:19And normally sunblock is so gross, this isn't gross at all.
09:27Fun fact about me, I don't have a sense of smell.
09:33I thought I had no sense of smell, but then during my pregnancies, I could smell a little bit, so I do have about 10%, maybe.
09:40I don't know what this smells like.
09:44Okay, here's another little bag that I carry around with me.
09:48I like to do my own nails.
09:50I have some little tools that have made it so much easier for me.
09:57So, this bag is from the manicurist, but what I'm pulling out of the bag is something from Olive in June, and they invented this.
10:11And this is very cool because you put it on the top of the nail polish, and it makes it easier for you to put your nail polish on, especially with your non-dominant hand.
10:25Fun fact about me, another one, I have an essential tremor.
10:31So, when I'm putting on makeup, or when I'm doing my nails, I need to kind of factor in that I'm going to be a little bit shaky.
10:38So, this helps me so much, and it's rubber.
10:42This is my favorite nail polish.
10:44It's what I'm wearing right now.
10:46It's called Nail Care Effects Raspberry Active Glow.
10:52I love it.
10:54And what I do is I put this on top of this.
10:58I'll demonstrate.
10:59And as you can see, it makes it so much easier because you have a really good grip.
11:20So, this is my non-dominant hand, and I'm just going to put it on here.
11:29So, it makes it super easy to just paint your nails.
11:33I love this thing.
11:34I have another thing.
11:36So, this is a brush by Sheila Stotts, and it works really well.
11:57It just brushes through all tangles, and it doesn't hurt.
12:02I highly recommend it.
12:15It's a great brush.
12:16It's really nice.
12:17Okay, this is a very special one.
12:19This is called Apple Doll.
12:21Actually, I know the founders, they just turned 18, and it's an incredible line.
12:27Apple Doll.
12:28They have a storefront on Abbot Kinney in Venice.
12:33Clearly, I hate it.
12:38This is really nice because you can kind of put it on anywhere as a highlighter, but I like to use it for my lips.
12:48I love it.
12:59It's a really great product line in general.
13:03I brought way too many things with me.
13:13I could keep going forever.
13:15All right, everyone.
13:16So, that's it.
13:18I hope you enjoyed getting to watch me touch on my look and share some of my favorite products.
13:24I had a lot of fun doing that, and of course, whispering.
13:25I hope you all have a wonderful day.
13:26Bye.
13:27Bye.
13:28I hope you all have a wonderful day.
13:31Bye.
