00:00Tommy, 1-1 draw against, sat in a really bright second half performance to get a point and could have even got all three today.
00:08Yeah, you quite quickly swept the fact that we weren't as good in the first half.
00:11Well, I was going to come on to that, yeah.
00:13But it's something that, you know, you have to deal with in at half time.
00:17Me and the staff sat here for a good five minutes and had a good chat.
00:21You know, we weren't ranting or anything.
00:22By the time we went in there, the lads were chatting and it was a couple of things that were tweaking.
00:26And I don't think the surface helped us, so we had to play a slightly different way than what we want to play.
00:32But the reaction of the XI who started the game to go out in the second half right from the off and get on my front foot and stay on my front foot near enough for the whole 45 minutes or whatever was really pleasing.
00:43Because as a manager, you want them to listen, you want them to react if it isn't going well.
00:47And if it's going well, you want to keep your foot on the gas.
00:49And that's difficult too.
00:50So, yeah, fans will always go away, I think, you know, remembering what they've seen in the second half.
00:55And like you just said there, I think we just about had bragging rights in the first half without making my goalkeeper work too hard.
01:01And we certainly had the bragging rights in the second half and we probably should have edged it.
01:06Yeah, as I say, Marcus didn't have too much to do in the first half, but obviously you did address things at half time.
01:11What was the message? And you must have been really pleased, obviously, with the second half.
01:15Yeah, I mean, it was tactical stuff, really.
01:17It was, you know, we were giving their lads at their back a little bit too much time to pick the passes forward.
01:21And they were delivering good balls down the hill, to be fair, and were turning us around.
01:25So we had to stop that if we could and make the goalkeeper be the one who was kicking it rather than defend us.
01:30And then obviously, when we dropped away as deep as we were in the first half, the whole, well, two thirds of the team dropped and two strikers are detached.
01:38So we weren't together as a unit.
01:40Second half we were. That's why we played a lot more football.
01:42That's why we created a lot more chances, scored a fantastic goal.
01:45And, like I said, probably ruined the fact that we missed a really good chance just after half time.
01:52And I thought we had a real squint for a penalty towards the end.
01:55Yeah, Dejan comes on and strong appeals there, wasn't it?
01:58Obviously, the ref's not giving up.
01:59Yeah, I mean, they're all honest lads, but I don't see why Dejan would go down there.
02:03Because if he'd beat the lad, he had a free shot at goal.
02:06So it's surprising.
02:07And the way that the lads have run the immediate ball, reacted like they did, and the way they've talked after the game there, they're adamant.
02:13I haven't seen it back on the video yet, but there's about 2,000 people behind the goal there, around the pitch.
02:19Also felt it was a bet.
02:21Yeah, really bright in the second half, loads of chances and a real nice move for the equaliser.
02:25And then obviously ends up with Josh Bauer.
02:26Yeah, I mean, James Henry quite rightly will get praise for the excellent pass to Josh, who then, you know, takes his touch and slots it brilliantly.
02:33But the ball came right through the team for that goal.
02:36And that's something we work on.
02:38It's not a fluke.
02:39Like I say, and I'm not criticising anybody, I'm just saying our pitch at the minute is a difficult surface to play a great football on.
02:46But football's not black and white.
02:48You've got to adjust to the circumstances, the conditions.
02:52And I thought we did that great in the second half.
02:54And I'm going to wear a much happier bloke at five o'clock today than I was this time last week.
02:59Trust me.
02:59And obviously, yeah, on that sort of pitch, obviously, it's probably tough against sides who like to play.
03:03They play long balls, isn't it, as well?
03:05I don't think they just play long ball.
03:06I think they've got some good footballers.
03:07Lewis Simp is a good player.
03:09Addison's played in the league.
03:11Davis is one of the top scorers in the division when you come on.
03:13You know, they've got lads who can play football.
03:15But I think most teams that come here, I see the fact that it's going to be difficult to play and not make mistakes passing the ball.
03:22I'm one of them stubborn blokes who want to play the way I want to play.
03:25And I want my team to try and eventually impart their will on the opposition.
03:29And today was a really good example of that.
03:31I thought they nicked it first half and we only got one goal.
03:34But I thought we really dominated the second half.
03:36Yeah, so you dominated the second half.
03:38And good character, again, obviously coming from behind.
03:39I know you don't want to go behind.
03:41Yeah, I mean, that's obviously a given.
03:43We want to go ahead in games and see if teams can catch us.
03:48But when you do, you've got to stay patient, you've got to stay calm.
03:52And the vast majority of us do.
03:54Although we have little moments, as did the lads on the pitch.
03:56But they responded great today to last weekend, first and foremost.
04:00As have they.
04:01Both of us were giving a bloody nose last week.
04:04And both teams, I imagine both managers are quite happy that we're not getting pilloried in the press or anywhere else, for that matter.
04:11And positive is Dejan back, obviously.
04:13Massive positive.

04:18But I do think Maxwell Mullins deserves a little bit of extra sugar.
04:22Because the lads trained and played us for us 99% of the time this season as a striker.
04:27And I asked him to play in the middle of the back three.
04:29Which isn't an alien position to him.
04:31But it's a while since he played there.
04:33But I thought he grew into the game.
04:36As did the other youngsters at the back.
04:39And played his part today.
04:40And showed some real composure.
04:42Some real steel at times.
04:43And I'm delighted for Max.
