00:00Cory Hardwick, single.
00:02Let me sip some tea right now, because that was, yeah.
00:05Hold on, let me sip this tea.
00:07You see the essence mug right here? Let me hold up.
00:11Yes, Cory Hardwick is single.
00:14He is single, he is single.
00:20Neighborhood's been here way before my time.
00:23Back then it was the OG Boardwalk gangsters in my pops days.
00:26It was like the Wild West out there back then.
00:28Me and your pops was brothers.
00:30And everything he schooled me on, I'ma teach you.
00:32You only got one chance in life to prove yourself.
00:37And that's it.
00:41What's up Essence? You clocked in with Cory Hardwick.
00:45Now I know you want this tea.
00:47You want this tea, don't you? Okay?
00:50How did the character solo affect my on-screen and off-screen life?
00:59Um, I would say the father figure element in this movie, because I am a father in real life.
01:06And in the movie I play the father figure, so the guy who plays Freddy, the main character in the movie.
01:13But like I said, it's different in a way because I was misguiding him with my mentorship in the movie to go out and do things like in the streets, gang violence, just to prove how he can go from being a boy to a man.
01:28And then in my regular life, it's just like I'm teaching my son how to be a man, like he's a younger, like he's just coming into teenage, his teenage life.
01:36So I saw the resemblance there a lot.
01:38So I did pull a lot of characteristics from me being a father into this character solo.
01:42So that's how it's relatable, for sure.
01:45You know, watching film and cinema, you want to put on for the people who look like you, but they want to see a reflection of themselves in their community.
01:53And this film represents the L.A. community, like the black and brown culture.
01:57So it's very important for, you know, for L.A.
02:01And, you know, the movie is really true to the culture there, and that's very important.
02:08So when I read the script, I really enjoyed it and I felt like it would be a connection, you know, with the community.
02:14So that was most important to me.
02:15Every day my kids inspire me because they're so, like, they're so joyful.
02:20You know, they got beautiful spirits.
02:24They're so happy about life.
02:26So I got to continue to be the example for my kids.
02:29Show them that you can do anything in this world you want to do.
02:32Be the role model for them, you know, and be there to support them and love on them.
02:36You know what I'm saying?
02:37And like I said, me and my son had these conversations all the time that you can do anything you want to do in this world.
02:43Just work hard and keep your faith, you know, and the sky's the limit.
02:49This year I'm manifesting and building my production company.
02:52I just started Hardcore Films.
02:53So I got a slate of projects I'm working on and building, like, in the beginning stages.
02:58And I want to be, like I said, more on the creative side, not just the acting, but just creating, building projects from the ground up.
03:04And I've already started that process with feature films, TV shows.
03:08So I'm really excited about that as well.
03:10It's been a journey.
03:11It's been a process.
03:13And I'm liking where it's going.
03:17You know what I'm saying?
03:18Like, I'm liking where it's going.
03:19And before it's just like sometimes you can't see, like, the light at the end of the tunnel.
03:24You know what I'm saying?
03:25But at this point in my life, like I said, a lot of self-reflecting, a lot of growing, a lot of, you know, self-healing, all those things.
03:34And I just, I'm really, you know, I'm in a good place right now.
03:38I wasn't outside 20 years ago.
03:40So it's like, from my personal experience, it's just like, you're scary out there in them streets, man.
03:46I'm just like, geez, this is what's going on out here, right?
03:50It's like, you know, it makes you want to go back inside, right?
03:55Going outside a little bit, I got to go back in for a little bit now.
03:59But, you know, like I said, that's just a part of the journey right now.
04:03And just, you know, relearning.
04:05Like I said, it's just like relearning myself all over again.
04:08And, you know, I'm just moving with love.
04:11And just whatever comes to me, I'm not going out and searching for anything.
04:14You know, whatever God has for me, I feel like that will be for me.
04:19And, you know, you'll know when the time is right.
04:21So, yeah, I'm single.
04:25Healing, three things to prioritize.
04:28Your mental, your mental health.
04:32I would say that's really important.
04:34I would say your support, your support system that you have around you, whether that's like your friends, family, and also just taking care of your optimal wellness.
04:47Like your health, your body.
04:48You know what I'm saying?
04:49Whether that's getting your IVs, taking your vitamins.
04:52Because, like I said, there's a lot of factors in the world that can wear your body down as well.
04:57And you got to keep your body up.
04:59Like your immune system.
05:00And I'm big on health.
05:01So, it's just like I would say those three things.
05:03And then you should be, you know, in a great place.
05:06I want my kids to remember that dad, you know, went after his dreams.
05:10He lived his purpose to the fullest.
05:12He had no fear.
05:14He was fearless.
05:15He believed the impossible.
05:17Like that's how I teach my kids, you know, just to believe, always believe that you can do anything on this world that you want to do.
05:24And I want to help change lives also, like through my, you know, through my craft.
05:30And just inspire the next generation to be like, I can do what he's doing, you know.
05:35I can relate to where he come from, his struggle, you know.
05:39And, you know, I want to continue to leave something behind, like I say, for the next generation.
05:43And especially for my kids, there's something to look up to as well.
05:47And just know that they can do it as well.
05:54Thanks for the follow.
05:55Well, thanks.
