00:00Now, Leeds United secured their place back in the Premier League on Monday afternoon
00:05following their 6-0 win at home to Stoke City,
00:08coupled with Burnley defeating Sheffield United at Turf Moor,
00:12which guaranteed Leeds and Burnley's promotion back to the Premier League.
00:17Of course, after that ensued fantastic celebrations outside of Elland Road,
00:22which saw thousands be outside of the stadium, you know, pyrotechnics,
00:27and just lots of celebrations and joy at Leeds finally being back in the Premier League
00:32after a couple of seasons away.
00:35But of course, once all that settled down and died down,
00:38talk began about what could be Leeds' future in the Premier League
00:41and will it be with Daniel Farker?
00:44Of course, it's an interesting one.
00:47He has managed in the Premier League before with Norwich, but not had the best of records.
00:52So, is he given that chance at Leeds, or do Leeds move on from him
00:56and go for someone with perhaps better know-how in the Premier League?
01:00Or, should talks like this be parked for now,
01:03and should it be the case where Leeds just enjoy these celebrations for what they are,
01:07a club getting back to where they want to be,
01:10and focus on that a little bit later on,
01:12and perhaps even give Farker a fair chance at seeing what he can do with Leeds,
01:17at least the start of next season,
01:19or will that itself be too late if things do not start well for them?
01:24We'll now go to Lee Soberts of the Yorkshire Evening Post,
01:26who's offered his thoughts on the celebrations and Farker's future.
01:30Yeah, I think the thing to add there is that they might replace him,
01:35but they also might not, you know,
01:36and the report was very, very vague that came out as well and stuff,
01:39and I think basically all it is is that Leeds are sort of like, you know,
01:42considering his future as such, but I think that's probably normal.
01:45I think most, pretty much every club that will get promoted,
01:48you know, the managers, they will be assessing the manager's position,
01:50especially when you're going into the Premier League in such a big division like that,
01:53and, you know, obviously people will look at Daniel Farker's Premier League record
01:56with Norwich, which obviously is not great, but, you know,
01:59he's spoken about that before, even in other press conferences beforehand,
02:02and basically said, you know, which I think is quite correct,
02:05that he wasn't properly backed there at Norwich and stuff,
02:07and, you know, I personally think, like,
02:09you've got to sort of, like, give him a chance in there and stuff.
02:11I do think, obviously, if Leeds go up and they don't start particularly well,
02:14then, obviously, you need to make a change sooner rather than later,
02:16because you don't want to start getting sort of, like, you know,
02:17cut adrift at the bottom, but, you know,
02:19this is a totally different ballgame, a different team to that Norwich side and stuff,
02:23and, obviously, you know, you're talking about a team here that have got,
02:26you know, great momentum, they're in flying form and stuff,
02:28and you would hope, obviously, with the right additions that they would continue
02:31that next summer, obviously, next season,
02:33obviously, it's going to be a massive, massive step up to the Premier League,
02:36and even before Leeds had sealed promotion,
02:39basically, most people coming up to me saying,
02:40well, how are we going to stay up if we go up, you know,
02:43and what are we going to do over the summer and stuff,
02:44and, yeah, obviously, you're going to need an awful, awful lot of work,
02:48but it was sort of quite good to hear Parag Marate, the chairman,
02:51come out very, very quickly and say that work's already been going on
02:53ahead of next season and stuff,
02:55and, yeah, so we'll just have to wait and see in terms of what does happen
02:59over the summer, both with, well, obviously, with players' ins and outs
03:01and Daniel Tharker, I mean, as I say, I personally think, you know,
03:04after such a tremendous season and achievement at Leeds,
03:06I think he's got to be given the chance,
03:08and I hope he's given the chance,
03:09and I hope he turns out to be a massive success in the Premier League,
03:12because he's definitely got unfinished business there, so to speak,
03:14but the mood at the moment is just one of absolute jubilation,
03:17there's no doubt about that, because all, you know,
03:19this season was about sealing a top-two finish,
03:22well, it was about sealing promotion, but nobody wanted to go through
03:25the dreaded playoffs, and obviously, you know,
03:28we've had twists and turns this season and, you know,
03:30we had the defeat at Portsmouth and then a few draws and stuff,
03:33and, you know, people were getting a bit worried about it,
03:35but ultimately, they've done it with two games to spare, you know,
03:37which there were times when that didn't look like happening,
03:40so, you know, hats off to the team, hats off to the players,
03:43hats off to the club, to Daniel Tharker and his staff,
03:45I mean, it's a tremendous achievement what they're on now,
03:48you know, to be on 94 points and obviously have a chance
03:50of finishing on 100 points, and the home record
03:53is just absolutely remarkable, I think it's 55 points
03:55out of a possible 66 at Ellen Road, which is, you know,
03:59that is some going, all you've dropped is one defeat
04:01and four draws, I mean, that's a tremendous, tremendous record,
04:04but, yeah, fully deserved, as with Burnley as well,
04:07you obviously say congratulations to them, I mean,
04:09now the two of them are eight points clear,
04:11it's not even particularly close at the moment, is it,
04:13now we're two games to go, and it's job done,
04:15but, yeah, Monday was an absolutely fantastic day of,
04:18I mean, you know, I mean, I've got to say,
04:19I think going to the game, I think there was, like,
04:21quite a lot of confidence, actually, from fans,
04:23I don't think it didn't really feel like there were
04:25that many nerves, it felt like more like anticipation,
04:27I think people, like, expected it to happen, really,
04:29and I certainly did as well, I thought they'd probably
04:31beat Stoke, I didn't think they'd beat him 6-0,
04:34to be honest, but, yeah, I mean, emphatic,
04:38Peru scoring four, obviously, absolutely amazing,
04:40job done by half-time, and then, obviously,
04:42it was just over to Burnley.
