The former England forward believes recruitment is key if Arsenal's women want to get back to winning trophies
Transcript
00:00I just honestly don't think Arsenal have enough world-class players.
00:04Marenda Caldante, I think, is a top player, world-class.
00:06She's done it in Barcelona.
00:07But when you look at, like, Caitlin Ford, Katie McCabe, top players.
00:11But when I look at world-class, you look at Lyon, you look at Barcelona,
00:14like, they are world-class all over the pitch.
00:16Wendy Renard wasn't even on the pitch at the weekend.
00:18Do you know what I mean?
00:19Like, this is the type of strength and depth these teams have.
00:21And I don't think Arsenal have it.
00:22I think René Stegas can build it.
00:24She's only been in there six months full-time.
00:26Not even that yet.
00:26So I do believe she's the person that could continue to build.
00:29But I just think if Arsenal end up trophy-less this year again,
00:33then there needs to be something.
00:34There needs to be a conveyor belt of a change.
00:36Do you know what I'm trying to say?
00:37Like, not changing of the guard, but they need to go and recruit.
00:39They need to get players, you know.
00:41They need to go and get a Trinity Rodman, a Barbara Bander.
00:43They need to bring in players that are world-class.
00:45Because right now, I don't see many world-class players in that Arsenal team.
