00:00Our Sun might be capturing headline after headline as its activity ramps up towards its solar maximum,
00:09but that's nothing compared to what it was capable of when it was younger.
00:12Experts say it once sent super flares out into space every couple of days,
00:16but while that activity was once thought to prevent life, now some believe it may have ignited it on Earth.
00:21Using an atmospheric simulator, researchers sought to find out what would happen if primordial Earth,
00:26or our planet around four and a half billion years ago, was absolutely inundated with solar particles and lightning.
00:32Rather than the destruction of biological particles, what happened was the creation of amino acids and carboxylic acid,
00:38two things necessary for the genesis of proteins and therefore life.
00:42With the researchers writing about the findings, quote,
00:44this provides experimental evidence supporting the importance of solar energetic particle events in the young sun,
00:50as energy sources which were required for the synthesis of the biologically important molecules,
00:55deposited and accumulated in diverse aquatic geological settings of the early Earth.
00:59This comes after several re-evaluations of Earth's early atmosphere, which experts say was ripe with volcanic gases.
01:05But this particular mix containing molecular nitrogen, carbon dioxide and water vapor sparked the necessary life-building particles,
01:12meaning we might have yet another clue about where else to look for life out in the cosmos.
01:18This is an amazing project being said in thegruppaal of Earth and water.
01:20MetВот Sogen Heart.
01:22I wanted to give you a ton of knowledge for our safety examples of hard-evaluations and Marshaider's early atmosphere,
01:26theenger air immediately Explreme, the Arctic indictors.
01:27Of course.
01:28This isn't these people allowing people to have any personal experience up in the past,
01:30you can go personally and look at this setting to come and walk with development of tomato,
01:40on the ambient temperature that would have been drawn to doors.
