00:00On the phone right now is a guy who's making us proud, representing WikiWatche, and we got an email from his mom saying,
00:06Hey, you gotta check out my baby boy, which I thought, of course, we're gonna check him out if he's representing us in a great way.
00:12On The Voice, ladies and gentlemen, Donnie Van Sleeve!
00:17What's up, man? How you doing?
00:19Good.
00:20So, I mean, this has to be a whirlwind. I'm sure you're getting lots of texts from people now that they've seen you on TV,
00:25and people don't know this process and what goes into it, so kind of give us,
00:30the start to what we saw on TV last night for you.
00:33Yeah, so I'm a full-time chiropractor in Nashville now, but I started doing all my music and my shows.
00:41I'm from WikiWatche, and I went to Central High School, Middle School.
00:46I went to West Fernando, and I played all over town before I went to chiropractor school and then moved to Nashville.
00:53And, yeah, The Voice just called me one day, and they asked me to send in some music,
00:59and they liked me, and they brought me on the show.
01:01Wow.
01:02So they found you just, like, on your viral videos and stuff like that?
01:07They just found me. I don't know.
01:11That's pretty crazy.
01:12Did you think it was a joke when you first got an email?
01:14Yeah, I was like, this isn't real.
01:16So they asked me to send them three songs, so I sent them three songs.
01:21I sent them Feathered Indian by Tyler Childers.
01:23I sent them You Never Even Called Me By My Name by David Allen Coe.
01:27Okay.
01:28And I sent them Good Directions by Billy Crank.
01:31Wow.
01:31And, yeah, and they liked it.
01:34That's awesome, man.
01:35They asked me to, for an interview, and they liked the interview.
01:41So one random day when I was at the office, because I'm living in Nashville full-time,
01:46doing music and chiropractic, I get a random call from somebody like,
01:50hey, we'd love to have you on The Voice.
01:52And I'm like, really?
01:53She was like, yeah.
01:54And I'm like, like on TV.
01:56Exactly.
01:57That's so cool.
01:58And then a patient walks in, like, right after.
02:00Yeah, right.
02:01All right, got to get back to work.
02:02We'll call you back, Voice.
02:03We've got things to do here.
02:04We've got backs to crack.
02:05I told him, like, hey, let me call you back.
02:08That's great.
02:09Talking to Donnie Vansley of WikiWatch.
02:12He's 30 years old.
02:13He is now on The Voice.
02:14He is on Team Reba.
02:16Yeah.
02:16Which is pretty cool.
02:17Yes.
02:18Let's go.
02:19Yeah.
02:19So let me ask you a question.
02:20So after you picked your team, obviously, you had Dan and Shay turn around.
02:24You had Reba turn around.
02:25Dan and Shay were blocked.
02:26So you couldn't go with them.
02:28But, you know, the queen of country music, Reba McIntyre, what does she say to you after
02:33you walk off stage?
02:34I mean, other than giving you chicken fingers.
02:36Well, they gave me the chicken nuggets and I was eating those and they brought me back
02:41to, they just shuttled me back to a hotel and then all my family was there and I got
02:47to just take it all in.
02:49Yeah.
02:49That's awesome.
02:50So what do you do?
02:51You shut down your chiropractic clinic then for a while and say I closed until further
02:55notice.
02:56I don't know when I'm going to be back.
02:57Yeah.
02:58So I work for a really amazing chiropractic company and yeah, I told them like when they
03:04were going to hire me that I might be on The Voice and they're like, oh, okay.
03:08That's great.
03:09Well, it's great for him because this is only going to make business go up now.
03:12It's like, hey, everybody, Donnie can do your back and stuff and straighten you out.
03:16I would say that like the coolest part about being on the show was all the contestants that
03:23we got to hang out with and meet.
03:25Like everybody that's on the show got to spend a lot of time together and we became really
03:30close.
03:30There's a lot of jam sessions going on.
03:33Everyone was so talented.
03:35It was just really cool.
03:36Awesome, man.
03:37Well, you're making us proud.
03:39We can't wait to follow your journey on The Voice and we appreciate you coming on the
03:42show with us.
03:43Yeah, so I'm in Nashville.
03:44I just released my debut album, 31.
03:48Okay.
03:49That came out last Friday.
03:51Doing as country as I can, going down to Texas.
03:54We're going to be doing a nice tour out there.
03:57Good for you, man.
03:57Well, let us know when you come back to your hometown and we'll come and visit you.
04:01All right, man.
04:02Awesome.
04:03Well, thanks for letting us know.
04:04We appreciate you, man.
04:05And good luck with everything, okay?
04:07Thanks.
04:08All right.
04:08Good to see you guys.
