00:00What's up Riff Rockers? It's Jade here with 101WRIF. You guys voted in the Riff's casual

00:07golfer bracket and here we are at Moose Ridge in South Lyon. I'm with Amy, Christian, and Curtis.

00:13We're going to go check out the course and see why this place is so great.

00:19Moose Ridge was opened in 2001. We are a family-owned golf course. The up north

00:26features of this golf course is what makes us unique here in metropolitan Detroit.

00:30We have a beautiful lodge setting here amidst a fabulous golf course which can

00:38accommodate up to 150 people for a wedding if you'd like, shower, birthday party,

00:44luncheon, anything. We have a beautiful bar area here too with a full bar with

00:50staff that's very well trained and versed in holding major events.

00:55What I love about this space in particular is that we have a lodge feeling. We can

01:01do anything from casual to very elegant. A lot of venue spaces are very strict

01:07about what you use and what you do and so we're very flexible with that. So the

01:11flexibility of the decor, flexibility of choosing your own caterer, we can really

01:17customize it to make your vision come true for your event.

01:25Moose is a very challenging golf course and a lot of times I'm greeting customers as they come up and

01:30you get them in their cards, etc. And I'm always making sure they've got a few extra golf balls in

01:35the bag. You're going to make some donations out here, but what it gives back to you is so worthwhile.

01:41The nature that we have out here, the vistas and views that we have out here are just seconds of

01:46none. You don't hardly see other people on this golf course. You feel like you're out in the woods,

01:51you feel like you're in that northern Michigan environment and that's why it's so unique and

01:57such a gem for this sort of northwest metropolitan Detroit.

02:03For me, I really like looking at number 10 from the tee box. You got the clubhouse behind you,

02:10you're overlooking number 10 standing at the tee box and you got the fall away and the elevation

02:15changes. It's a beautiful home. You can sit out there and eat. We got all the food at the tiki bar out

02:20here. You can sit out there, have a beverage and watch the golfers come in when you're done also.

02:25I'll tell you jokingly, one of the holes that I dread the most is right here on 10. You'll have a

02:29gallery out here and the tee is right below you. So you might have 20 to 50 people, eyes on you,

02:37and it's a narrow area. It really narrows down and funnels into the green. This is a challenging hole

02:44to hit off of. Really what makes us stand out in the area beside the features of the physical golf

02:51course itself is the way that we're operating. We are a golf course that does not have leagues during

02:57the week. That's the best thing. We've been getting so many phone calls from people getting out of work,

03:02want to come out to golf. They're bringing couples are coming out like crazy. So that's nice. You're

03:07bringing your kid out. We got a lot of people bringing their kids out who are in their teens and want to

03:12golf with mom and dad and learn how to have some fun in the evening. So if you're a person that works

03:18all day and you come home and it's that beautiful Michigan summer day, it's 75, a light breeze, no

03:25humidity, and you get that golf bug, most of the golf courses, if not all the golf courses in the area,

03:30you're stuck. You can't get out anywhere. Call Moose Ridge. We'll take great care of you.
