00:00Now back to Amy and Sean, 1027 VGS.
00:05Ah, yes, we're gonna, we're just talking about 10 minutes ago about the loveliness of living in the city, but the fact that we take it for granted.
00:14We do.
00:15Yeah, I think I will, I gotta be honest, and I'm not like tooting my own horn, but I really feel like I do appreciate it more in the past few years, maybe after 2020 when like there was nothing to do, like, um, and then I started taking advantage of going to shows.
00:29And, and concerts and, uh, any, I mean, that's the only time I went down on the strip though.
00:34Like we, I wouldn't go there and walk around.
00:36I remember I first moved here.
00:37Like it was just all about like, wow, let's go.
00:40Like, I'm just going to drive down Las Vegas Boulevard.
00:43Wow.
00:43Look at the lights.
00:44This is exciting.
00:45Yeah.
00:45And then like within six months, I'm like, okay, never taking that road again.
00:49Right.
00:49Frank Sinatra is our friend.
00:51Exactly.
00:52Uh, we're, we're talking about, uh, the places you've moved from and why Vegas is better than that place.
00:57It's 702-597-1027.
01:00Do you hear her?
01:01I just choked on my coffee.
01:02You are.
01:02Okay.
01:03If whether she's choking or she's sneezing.
01:05Oh my God.
01:05Today's hard.
01:06That's one of the things about Vegas that like supposedly everyone thinks is going to be better,
01:10but it's actually kind of worse.
01:11The allergies.
01:12Yeah.
01:12So bad.
01:13I never had them so bad in, um, in New York and which is weird.
01:17So obviously it's like dust or something, right?
01:19Yeah.
01:20Who knows?
01:20We come from the same kind of part of the, the, the world.
01:23So things that are better about Las Vegas than say Boston or New York, you don't have
01:29to shovel.
01:31You don't even need to shovel.
01:32When you moved here, did you, did you have the scraper in your back, uh, the back of your
01:35car?
01:36Um, oh, for sure.
01:37My parents did.
01:38Um, and what's so funny is because I bought my car here.
01:41So it was like already like a desert car.
01:43But, um, uh, when it did snow here and nobody has anything and you just use whatever it you
01:49have in your car, like nobody has CDs anymore.
01:52So yes, whatever that was in my car, I'm like, well, can I use a water bottle trying to scrub
01:56it off?
01:57But I drove all the way out here and I had an ice scraper in the back and I'm just ready
02:00for the moment.
02:01I know.
02:01I've thought about like buying a Jeep or something and buying a plow.
02:06Just to like help?
02:08No, not to help, to bank.
02:10Like, like, what was it?
02:122008, 2009, there was a big snowstorm here.
02:14It was 2008.
02:15And no one had a plow.
02:18Yeah.
02:18Like, wow.
02:19Imagine if you're the only guy with a plow, you're making big.
02:21And then it happened again in, uh, uh, 2019, right?
02:26Eh, well, maybe towards your area in Mountain's Edge, there was a dusting.
02:30Oh, no, it was, it was sticking here at the station.
02:33Like, a lot.
02:34Like, we were all outside playing in the snow, like making snowmen and stuff.
02:37Oh, that's amazing.
02:38So crazy.
02:39Uh, yeah, what, what else is better here?
02:41Sushi.
02:42See, we don't even, being from New York, and when you think Amy's from New York, you're
02:48You think of the Bronx, Manhattan.
02:48I'm from upstate New York.
02:50So sushi, not a thing where I'm from.
02:53Like, they're very basic things where I'm from.
02:56I remember the day they built a Walmart in my town, and it was a big deal, and I'm not
03:00lying.
03:01They were taking suggestions.
03:02People were walking around like, what can we, like, what would you like here that, that
03:06isn't already here?
03:07So, uh, we, we didn't have anything like that.
03:10We had one movie theater with two theaters inside.
03:13I'm laughing and crying at the same time because I, uh, that, that was a mountain's edge like
03:17a few years ago when we got a Walmart.
03:19We were, oh, the world, I mean, we got an Albertsons.
03:21There was like a parade.
03:22Yeah.
03:23We got a grocery store, everybody.
03:24We can buy groceries.
03:26Um, we had a lot of people reach out to us.
03:28Uh, let's hear the Bay Area, says Tanya.
03:30Uh, Vegas is better because, well, the Bay Area.
03:33No, okay.
03:34Well, California is so expensive.
03:37It's, well, it's stupid, and that's why everyone's moving here, although even Vegas is getting
03:40kind of expensive.
03:41Thank you, California.
03:42Yeah.
03:42Uh, Melissa's saying, I moved here from California.
03:44I have the most amazing friends.
03:45Don't get me wrong.
03:46My friends back home are amazing too, but the best thing so far is my friends.
03:50That's very cool.
03:51Yeah.
03:52That's awesome.
03:53Yeah, we were saying because, uh, Lady Gaga is going to, uh, come back for a residency
03:57here, and Adele will be here from November to May or something like that, and so, like,
04:01we could have two, like, amazing female artists have a residency here at the same time on the
04:07Strip.
04:08It's just literally insane.
04:09Always something to do.
04:09It doesn't happen anywhere else.
04:12Like, this doesn't happen anywhere else.
04:13Rachel's saying, I always say you don't need to shovel sunshine.
04:16She comes from the Boston area, so yeah, there we go.
04:18So, you know, weather in general, nothing happens here.
04:20You could move anywhere else in the world and never have, no, okay, the visitors are
04:25a good thing and a bad thing, because let's call it what it is.
04:28They all want to either go on the Strip or stay with you, and it's like, just, I've got
04:32a life.
04:33Yeah.
04:34Yeah, I know.
04:34But, if you, like, wherever you're from, they will always, even though, like, the acquaintances
04:39will end up visiting you here.
04:41But, if you lived in Cincinnati, if you lived in, even Orlando, unless they have a family
04:46that they're bringing to Disney, you're not getting those visitors.
04:49This is the only place in the world that's like that.
04:52And it is like the movies, you know?
04:54Like, when you're on this trip, I was just, I forget what I was doing down there.
04:57My husband and I, we had to return something at a store down on the Strip, and we were driving
05:01down Las Vegas Boulevard, turning on Trap, and I'm like, this is so cool.
05:05Literally, it was like two weeks ago.
05:06I'm like, this is so cool to live here.
05:08And we almost are kind of, like, touristy, because we're never down there.
05:11Yeah, yeah.
05:12So, when we do go, like, wow, look at that Walgreens.
05:14It's huge.
05:15You know what I mean?
05:16I've never seen neon at a Walgreens before.
05:18This is just fancy.
05:19Yeah.
05:20Oh, man.
05:21I remember.
05:21You've got to love Vegas.
05:22Vegas is just, it's been so good.
05:24The Fry's Electronics, back when they had it, like, wow, it's a big slot machine I'm walking
05:28through.
05:28Man, this is special.
