00:00We know the hard work and sacrifice they go through serving our community and keeping us safe.
00:06Let's honor another first responder on 99.5 QYK.
00:12We've got Jeanette on the phone today. She is honoring her son-in-law, Brian.
00:15Good morning, Jeanette. How are you doing?
00:17Good, thank you.
00:18Well, I think it's pretty cool that you're honoring your son-in-law.
00:21First, tell us a little bit about Brian.
00:22I love him. Yeah, he's a great guy.
00:24He's a good dad, a devoted husband, a family man, actively involved with the grandkids, coaching different sports for my grandson, and just overall good guy.
00:36I love that.
00:37All right, so let's talk about his service.
00:39He works for the Manatee County Sheriff's Office, that's right?
00:42He does.
00:42And what does he do for them?
00:43He works for a special unit for the Sheriff's Department.
00:46He's been with them for 15 years.
00:47Okay.
00:48And he loves his job, really loves it, dedicated.
00:51Now, I know he's your son-in-law, but do you know if he's talked about going into this field since he was a little kid?
00:57Has this always been a calling? Is this a family thing?
01:00I think it was something he decided in high school that he wanted to do, and his grandfather, who he was very close with, made that happen with financing him through the academy.
01:10Okay.
01:10So he went in, I think, about 19 or 20, so he was pretty young.
01:14You know, Jeanette, it's cool because I'm reading this letter that you wrote about Brian, and it sounds like this was a real calling for him when it comes to being a first responder, like it is for a lot of first responders.
01:24And it sounds like his dedication is very deep-rooted.
01:27I think he lives his life that way, and I think it spills over to his job.
01:31I think that they're, I feel that they're fortunate to have him because I see his level of commitment, ton of overtime, you know, several different divisions in which he can cross over when needed.
01:43And just really loves what he does, and I think this will be his career until he retires.
01:48Well, I really think it's cool that you called us to honor your son-in-law.
01:52You're lucky to have him as a son-in-law.
01:53He's lucky to have you as a mother-in-law, and obviously your daughter's very lucky to have him as a husband.
01:58Jeanette, we'd like to do this for Brian.
02:00We have $200 in Visa gift cards thanks to our friends at Crown Buick GMC and the DeMesman & Dover Law Firm.
02:07It's just a way for us to say thank you, and hopefully Brian and the family can get out and do something fun, have a meal together, or whatever.
02:15But we appreciate him and you so much.
02:17That is so awesome for recognizing him.
02:19I really appreciate that a lot.
02:21Well, it is our pleasure, and we're so thankful for his service and dedication to our community.
02:25And I want to put you on hold so we can get all your info and get those gift cards to you, okay?
02:29What a blessing.
02:30Thank you so much.
