00:00The way wars are fought have changed because of AI.
00:06And when it comes to weapons, no superpower wants to be left behind.
00:10So we find ourselves in the grip of this new kind of arms race,
00:14predominantly between the US and China.
00:18They have totally different ideologies and different forms of government.
00:22So, Roman, does it matter which country actually wins this AI arms race?
00:30And what does victory look like?
00:33So short term, it's very important to have military dominance,
00:36to have more advanced AI's because that's the country
00:39which is going to win all the local conflicts or war.
00:42Long term, if I'm right and we are creating uncontrolled superintelligence,
00:47it doesn't matter who creates it.
00:49It's not controlled by definition.
00:50So whatever you are, the good guys doing it or the bad guys,
00:54if you're not actually dictating what the system is going to do,
00:57the outcome is the same.
00:58So it shifts.
00:59Right now, short term, we definitely need to protect our capabilities,
01:04our placement in a global community.
01:06But long term, if you just race to the bottom,
01:09it's going to have negative impact for all of humanity.
