00:00Mr. Albrecht, you're recognized for five minutes.
00:01Thank you, Mr. Chairman.
00:02I rise in strong support of H.R. 276, the Gulf of America Act of 2025.
00:08The Gulf of America is one of the greatest crown jewels of the United States.
00:13Not only is the Gulf home to an ecosystem that supports diverse marine life and migratory species,
00:18it's also an incredible economic resource for the United States,
00:23ranging from tourism, recreation, commercial fishing, energy production,
00:27including renewable oil and gas production, shipping and trade, and so much more.
00:34The Gulf of America plays a significant role in the cultural identity of the United States
00:38and is enjoyed by countless Americans.
00:41And not only those who call the Gulf Coast home, but countless Americans across our great nation,
00:47including my home state of Minnesota.
00:49I believe renaming the Gulf to the Gulf of America is a great testament to this nation.
00:54And I am proud to support this legislation to codify President's January 20th executive order.
