00:30Abu Dhabi's commitment to creating a cultural and artistic legacy.
00:35We believe that culture is the building blocks of any forward-thinking society.
00:39We believe it is principle for our youth.
00:42Hence, these investments that we're doing in culture,
00:44whether it's in museums or educational programs or exhibits and etc.,
00:50they're predominantly done really as an educating force.
00:54Because we believe understanding somebody else's culture,
00:57your culture, your history, others' history,
01:00puts you in a position to really look at this world from a global perspective.
01:04One of the cultural highlights here is the Abu Dhabi collection.
01:07Now, that is going to be added to with a very exciting announcement,
01:12and that is the Abu Dhabi Masterpieces Collection.
01:15Can you tell me about the relevance of this
01:17and why it's so exciting to be bringing this to Abu Dhabi?
01:20So, it's imperative for us that collections are shared with the world.
01:23And this was the principle thinking of collecting.
01:28You know, when we looked at creating collections that give you a glimpse of the history of art throughout the world,
01:36throughout different regions,
01:37it's imperative for us that we collect things that we can host in our museums
01:41that can be showcased for the vast audience,
01:44where the vast audience can come, see something either for the first time,
01:48see something side by side by the same artist,
01:51see something within the same collective,
01:53and give them a perspective that they have never seen.
01:55Why is it important for culture to drive and support social change,
02:01and, in particular as well, education?
02:04That's really important.
02:05When I visit the museums here in Abu Dhabi,
02:08and see youth consume what they've just seen
02:12in a way that is so imaginative and so beautiful to see,
02:16you see that shimmer in their eyes.
02:18You see the creative juices running through their brain,
02:21seeing things and saying,
02:22now I can create.
02:24And, you know, we here in Abu Dhabi believe in the power of creation.
02:27And the fact of the matter is,
02:29focusing these institutions as educational institutions,
02:33focusing that these institutions have a direct link to school curriculars,
02:38whether through art history, through art programs,
02:41through different lessons throughout the day,
02:44you're always infused with the power of art.
02:46Mohamed, thank you so much for joining us on the agenda on Euronews today.
02:50Pleasure, as always, to talk to you.
02:51Always a pleasure talking to you.
02:52Thank you so much.
02:57Thank you.
