00:00In a news conference Wednesday, Birmingham Police Chief Scott Thurmond provides details
00:07in the homicide investigation of Mahogany Jackson.
00:11We have determined that Mahogany was a victim of sexual assault with murder and kidnapping.
00:17Jackson's mother received urgent messages from her asking her to call the cops, saying
00:21she'd been kidnapped.
00:23Sunday morning, Mahogany Jackson was reported missing.
00:27She had no idea she was walking into a nightmare.
00:30Mahogany Jackson thought she was among friends, people she had known, people she had trusted.
00:38But trust, it's a dangerous thing when placed in the wrong hands.
00:43That night, February 24th, 2024, would begin like any other.
00:50She had no reason to suspect that the very people she laughed with, confided in, and saw
00:55as friends were about to become her executioners.
00:59What started as a gathering turned into a prison.
01:02The smiles she once saw turned into twisted grins.
01:06The voices that had been familiar became cruel, taunting whispers.
01:10And by the time she realised the danger, it was too late.
01:15They stripped her of her dignity, her safety, and in the end, her life.
01:20They recorded her screams.
01:22They ignored her pleas.
01:24And when they had done the unthinkable, they silenced her forever.
01:29She managed to send a desperate text, a final cry for help.
01:33Mama, I'm being held hostage.
01:36Please call the police.
01:38But by the time help came, Mahogany was gone.
01:42And the people responsible.
01:44They thought they had erased her voice.
01:47But today, we make sure they didn't.
01:51This is one of the most disturbing cases I have ever covered.
01:55Mahogany Jackson's story isn't just another crime report.
01:58It's a chilling reminder that the people closest to us aren't always who they seem to be.
02:04As you watch this video, I want you to ask yourself.
02:08How do we truly know who we can trust?
02:11At what point did Mahogany realise she was in danger?
02:15And most importantly, what could have been done to prevent this?
02:20This story needs to be heard, not just because it's tragic, but because it holds an important
02:25lesson about trust, betrayal, and justice.

02:51Now, let's get into the details of what really happened to Mahogany Jackson.
02:57Mahogany Jackson was just twenty years old, a young woman with her entire life ahead of
03:02her, a daughter, a friend, and someone who deserved so much more than what happened to
03:07her that night.
03:08But what exactly led to that moment?
03:12How did she go from being a carefree young woman to a victim of unimaginable cruelty?
03:18Let's go back to the beginning.
03:21A young, vibrant, and full of life.
03:25She had dreams, ambitions, and a personality that drew people in.
03:30She wasn't a troublemaker.
03:31She wasn't reckless.
03:33She was simply navigating adulthood, trusting the people around her, and figuring out her
03:38path.
03:40To those who knew her, Mahogany was warm, friendly, and easy to talk to.
03:46She had a family who loved her, a mother who cared deeply, and a future waiting for her.
03:52But none of that mattered to the people who betrayed her.
03:56They weren't strangers.
03:57They were people she knew.
04:00People she had been around before.
04:02And that night, they were waiting.
04:06Mahogany had no idea she was walking into a trap.
04:10She didn't know that by the time she realized the danger, it would be too late.
04:15Mahogany's mother knew the dangers of the world.
04:18She raised her daughter with love and caution, always making sure she was safe.
04:23But how do you protect someone from the people they trust?
04:28That night, Mahogany wasn't in an unfamiliar place.
04:32She wasn't lost in a dangerous neighborhood or surrounded by strangers.
04:37She was with people she had been around before, people who had gained her trust.
04:42That's what made this so chilling.
04:44There was no dramatic warning.
04:46No sign that this was the last time she would ever be seen alive.
04:51She was just another young woman meeting up with people she knew.
04:56Until everything changed.
04:58Mahogany Jackson was not a reckless person.
05:01She wasn't someone who made a habit of putting herself in dangerous situations.
05:06But danger doesn't always come from the unknown.
05:10On the night of February 24th, 2024, Mahogany found herself in the company of people she
05:17considered friends, or at the very least, familiar faces.
05:22It is still unclear whether she willingly met up with them, was lured into a trap, or ended
05:27up at the wrong place at the wrong time.
05:31What is certain is that at some point during that night, the situation turned sinister.
05:37The location where she was held captive has not been publicly disclosed, but authorities
05:42confirmed that Mahogany was trapped in a place where she was outnumbered, overpowered,
05:48and completely at their mercy.
05:51Reports confirm that there were eight individuals involved.
05:54Each one played a role in her captivity, and what came next.
06:00Once she realized she wasn't free to leave, it was too late.
06:04She was surrounded.
06:05She was trapped.
06:07And they had no intention of letting her go.
06:11What Mahogany endured that night was beyond inhumane.
06:15Authorities have confirmed that she was repeatedly assaulted, tortured, and brutalized for hours.
06:22Every moment was recorded.
06:25These weren't random acts of violence.
06:27This was calculated cruelty.
06:29There was no mercy, no hesitation.
06:32They humiliated her.
06:34They stripped away her dignity.
06:36They turned her suffering into entertainment, capturing it on video like it was some kind of
06:41sick game.
06:43It wasn't enough that she was in pain.
06:46They wanted her to beg.
06:48At some point during her captivity, Mahogany was able to send a message to the one person
06:54she trusted most, her mother.
06:57Mama, I'm being held hostage.
07:00Please call the police.
07:02Those few words were her last lifeline.
07:05She didn't plead for help from her captors.
07:07She knew it wouldn't work.
07:09Instead, she reached for the only hope she had left.
07:14Her mother wasted no time.
07:16She called the police immediately, but Mahogany's captors had already realized what she had done.
07:22When her captors discovered that Mahogany had sent a text, they knew time was running
07:27out.
07:28The police would come looking for her.
07:30They couldn't let that happen.
07:32And so, they made a decision.
07:35They had already taken so much from her, but now they had to take her life.
07:42At some point in the early hours of February 25th, Mahogany Jackson was executed.
07:47She was shot in the back of the head.
07:50A final cold act of cruelty to ensure that she would never speak again.
07:56Her body was abandoned.
07:58But the horror wasn't over.
08:00Because the evidence of what they had done, it was all on video.
08:05And soon, the world would know exactly what happened to Mahogany Jackson.
08:09By the time authorities began tracking her location, she was already gone.
08:14Law enforcement discovered her body soon after.
08:17The official reports confirmed it.
08:19She had been shot execution style.
08:21But the most horrifying part?
08:24There was footage.
08:26What happened to Mahogany had been filmed.
08:29And those videos would become the key to exposing exactly who was responsible.
08:34This was no random crime.
08:36This was intentional, deliberate.
08:40And now, it was time to hold them accountable.
08:44In the investigation of Mahogany Jackson's tragic death, authorities obtained crucial video
08:50evidence through a witness who provided five videos related to the case.
08:55These videos depicted various aspects of the crime, including parts of the assault at one
09:00suspect's apartment, and additional footage from other locations.
09:05The content of these videos was instrumental in identifying and charging the individuals
09:10involved in Mahogany's kidnapping and murder.
09:13From the moment Mahogany's body was discovered, law enforcement moved quickly.
09:18This was no case of a missing person turning up deceased under mysterious circumstances.
09:23This was a targeted, brutal murder, and her killers had left behind everything police needed
09:29to identify them.
09:31The key piece of evidence?
09:33The videos.
09:35Authorities recovered footage that documented the horror Mahogany endured.
09:41These weren't shaky, hidden recordings.
09:43They were deliberate.
09:45The suspects filmed themselves, fully aware of what they were doing.
09:49But these recordings weren't just trophies for them.
09:53They became undeniable proof of guilt.
09:57Through digital forensics, investigators traced the videos back to the individuals involved.
10:03It didn't take long for law enforcement to put names to faces.
10:07Eight suspects were identified.
10:10There was no room for doubt.
10:11They were directly involved in Mahogany's suffering and execution.
10:16Once the suspects were identified, law enforcement moved swiftly to bring them in.
10:21Eight individuals were arrested.
10:24The Birmingham Police Department officially released the identities of the individuals arrested
10:28and charged in connection with her murder.
10:32Below are lists of suspects involved in the case.
10:35Giovanni Clapp, female 23, felony murder, kidnapping 1st degree, sodomy 1st degree, assault 2nd degree, with injury.
10:46Blair Green, male 25, felony murder, kidnapping 1st degree, sodomy 1st degree.
10:54Taja Lewis, female 25, felony murder, assault 2nd degree, with injury, jocked weapon.
11:03Frances Harris, male 25, capital murder, sodomy 1st degree, capital murder, kidnapping 1st degree.
11:11Senia McCall, female 23, felony murder, kidnapping 1st degree, sodomy 1st degree.
11:19Jeremiah McDowell, male 18, capital murder, sodomy 1st degree, capital murder, kidnapping 1st degree.
11:27Brandon Pope, male 24, capital murder, kidnapping 1st degree, capital murder, sodomy 1st degree.
11:38Errana Robinson, female 23, felony murder, kidnapping 1st degree.
11:45The initial charges varied.
11:47Three of them faced capital murder, kidnapping, rape, sodomy, and sexual assault charges,
11:53while the remaining five were charged with felony murder.
11:57But the gravity of the crime led to a major legal development.
12:03By September 2024, a grand jury upgraded the charges.
12:08All eight suspects were charged with capital murder.
12:12The prosecution didn't hesitate.
12:14They announced their intent to seek the death penalty for every single one of them.
12:19This was no ordinary case.
12:21Law enforcement officials called it one of the most depraved acts they had ever seen.
12:28Thanksgiving homicide at the Airport Inn Hotel, where three people were brutally murdered
12:31in the Airport Inn Hotel on Thanksgiving morning.
12:33I actually handled that case and tried it myself.
12:35That was a very brutal case.
12:38This one, unlike that one, the brutality kind of played itself out in real time,
12:43because there's a video involved.
12:46And now, the legal battle was set.
12:52Justice for Mahogany Jackson was no longer just a demand.
12:56It was in motion.
12:57As of January 31st, 2025, the eight individuals charged in connection with the murder of Mahogany Jackson
13:07are being held without bond in the Jefferson County Jail in Birmingham, Alabama.
13:13Their legal proceedings are ongoing, and no verdicts or sentences have been announced at this time.
13:18Mahogany Jackson's story is one of the most horrifying betrayals imaginable.
13:24She was surrounded by people she knew, people she likely never imagined would be capable of something so horrific.
13:33Yet when she needed mercy the most, they showed her none.
13:38They tortured her, humiliated her, and ended her life, all while recording their actions.
13:45They thought they would get away with it.
13:48But now, they face the ultimate consequence.
13:53Justice.
13:54However, even with arrests made, this case leaves us with disturbing questions.
14:01How did eight individuals come together to commit something this evil?
14:05At what point does a person lose their humanity,
14:09to the point where they can record someone's suffering without remorse?
14:12Why didn't anyone in that room stop it?
14:16Did they all enjoy the power they had over her, or were they afraid to turn against each other?
14:21What kind of justice should be served?
14:24Do you believe all of them deserve the death penalty?
14:28This wasn't just a crime.
14:30It was an act of pure cruelty.
14:33And it forces us to ask,
14:34how do we prevent something like this from happening again?
14:38This is a case that needs to be talked about.
14:40If you found this story disturbing, don't let it end here.
