Christians across Canberra have marked Easter Sunday with prayers, hymns and even a few Easter eggs. The day that marks the rising of Christ began early with some gathering in the dark to greet the dawn.

00:44The settings may have differed, but in each place the rituals of 2,000 years of history
00:50were played out in similar fashion, and the Christian message was clear.
00:55The Christian message about Easter is that we can always have hope, because there's no
01:00situation that is beyond God, there's nothing that's too far for God to get to.
01:05Easter means to me a new life, from when Christ has died on the cross for us, and from rising
01:14again. That gives me hope.
01:16I think it's a time that brings families together, and re-use our faith.
01:21Easter means that God is still alive, Jesus is coming to save us, and he's giving a promise
01:30every day that life goes on and we have hope in him, and we will see him again in heaven.
01:37And while the story is old, one new minister in Canberra looked forward to her first chance
01:43to deliver an Easter service.
01:46It's fresh and exciting, and such a joy to open up this really old story, but a story
01:50that's still so relevant to people.
01:53And earthly matters were on the minds of others, as they delivered their message of hope.
01:59We live in uncertain times. People are facing economic uncertainties. There's a rising cost
02:04of living. There's uncertainties with the whole world trading system.
02:09Of course, there were a few of these around.

02:17But church was also fun, filled with bubbles, every time someone said hallelujah.
