X1.9 Solar Flare - Hyperactive Sunspot Eruption Seen By Spacecraft

Sunspot AR3184 erupted with an X1.9-class solar flare. NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) captured the fireworks. The sunspot has been very active since it rotated into SDO's view.
