Creamline bounces back

Determined to bounce back from its PVL All-Filipino Conference finals heartbreak last week, Creamline swept Al Naser, 29-27, 25-20, 25-19, to kickstart their campaign at the AVC Women's Champions League at the PhilSports Arena on Sunday, April 20.

Returning import Erica Staunton and Alyssa Valdez joined hands as they delivered 17 and 10 points, respectively, in the win that put the Cool Smashers at the top of Pool A.

Their efforts made life a little easier for their new imports Nastiya Kolomoyets and Ana Kudryashova who didn't have to go full swing in their debut, scoring nine and eight points, respectively.

Ilisandra Pully paced the Al Naser of Jordan with a match-high 19 points.

01:18It's an honor to be able to represent the Philippines and also connect to my roots and my culture so I'm just happy to be able to have this opportunity.
01:27How are you embracing the big challenge of stepping up for Dreamline against the international team?
01:32Yeah, I think I'm just trying to do my best. You know, take it game by game, point by point. So I'm super happy and grateful for the challenge.
01:43How did you react to getting the call out today for female babies after not playing with that match?
01:49I'm definitely happy to have this opportunity. You know, every practice I've just been trying to work hard to make the athletes better and make practices competitive for them. So I'm just really grateful and happy that I'm able to be on the court this time for the ABC.

02:30Lovely, lovely, the inspiration and motivation to find the game. And just so nice to pick always for the Philippines.
02:36They play like there's no tomorrow all the time because these chances, opportunities also are given to us all the time. So we're going to grab it and try to represent the country well in this event.
