More Beautiful For Having Been Broken"
FBI agent Mackenzie "Max" De Ridder is going through the most difficult period of her life. The loss of her mother, who was the closest person to her, deeply wounds her, leaving a void that she cannot fill. Grief consumes Mackenzie, her behavior becomes unstable, and eventually she is suspended from her job. Feeling lost, she goes to the small town of Maryville, where she spent time with her mother as a child, dreaming of star adventures.
There she meets Freddy - an unusual boy with a rare disease Fanconi. Confined to a wheelchair, he lives a full life, radiating wisdom, calm and zest for life. His strength of spirit and serenity penetrate Mackenzie's armor, forcing her to reconsider her own fears and pain. A special bond develops between them, which later extends to his mother, a strong and determined woman who has gone through her own trials.
Gradually, Mackenzie is drawn into the life of the town, discovering its difficult human relationships, secrets and complex family ties. Old images, untold stories and hidden emotions surface, forcing everyone to reconsider their past and future. But among all this, the biggest surprise is Freddy himself - a little teacher who, with his light, helps Mackenzie and his mother find true love, healing and a new meaning in life.
In this story of pain and loss, of acceptance and hope, each hero goes his own way, breaking and putting himself back together piece by piece to become even more beautiful.
