Elephant takes shelter in North Bengal University Campus in Siliguri | No casualties reported

Siliguri (West Bengal), April 19, 2025 (ANI): An adult male elephant entered the North Bengal University (NBU) campus near Siliguri this morning. Police, as well as Kurseong Forest Division officials, are at the spot. No casualties have been reported in this incident. Assistant Divisional Forest Officer (ADFO), Rahul Deb Mukherjee says, "The elephant has entered the campus. There is a lot of forest and wetland inside the campus. There is also a lot of water. The elephant is sitting here and there is no report of any damage or casualties. We plan to take it out of the university campus this evening and make it enter the nearby forest of Bagdogra Range."
