00:00:00Welcome back ladies and gentlemen, my name is Connor here with my father Kevin and today we have a special guest
00:00:08Wallows you guys want to introduce yourselves one by one. Yeah, I'm Dylan
00:00:14I'm Cole and I'm Braden. Yeah, I looked right at not the camera when I said I just like that
00:00:23It's deer in the headlights. Yeah, whoa, we could shut those off and make it cool
00:00:30Yeah, like candles and make it a little nice. Yeah. Yeah
00:00:34First and foremost, how you guys doing?
00:00:38Doing good day one of the tour is over day one is over. How are you feeling cool? Sorry. I feel bad. You don't know Mike
00:00:45I feel great. I feel great. This is day two. Yes
00:00:49Like it officially felt like tour last night in this morning because we moved into the bus yesterday
00:00:55Mmm, we were like in a hotel like plane hotel before and then we had our first night on the bus
00:01:00And that's the realization of oh, I'm on tour. Yeah, waking up in a parking lot
00:01:05Morning one morning one of tour like day two, but first morning is a real thing and how was the show last night?
00:01:13It was amazing. Was it yeah? Yeah, it was it was uh, it was surreal all day
00:01:19I just felt like I was gonna be going back to my
00:01:23Apartment and like going to sleep and like it just felt like
00:01:26It didn't feel like we were just kind of
00:01:28Standing around before the show and it was hard to believe that we're going on like tour
00:01:32Yeah, I'll just say like it's it's once you get in the groove you realize like you're away because sometimes it's hard for me to like
00:01:37Get adjusted to things quickly. So like I'm in that zone. I'm like, wait, what's going on? Like my my inner compass is kind of like, yeah
00:01:46Walking around. I'm like, wait, what do I do I just met it? Do I meditate? Do I sit in a corner? Do I talk? I'm like
00:01:52What's going on? But the show exceeded all our expectations? Oh, it was it all
00:01:57Everyone seemed to have a great time and we had a great time and you have any time to explore Portland at all
00:02:03Or what did you just get there and go right to the venue? I got a smoothie
00:02:09Which is Portland is not known for smoothies
00:02:12And they should be
00:02:16Really good didn't get to explore we we've gotten to explore Portland more in the past
00:02:19I feel like ironically maybe it's because we were in hotels before well not the last couple times
00:02:24Maybe just once we've explored Portland a bit. I like Portland. It's a cool city. Yeah, it's um, but we just kind of this time
00:02:31I just kind of like relaxed my way into the beginning of two or just like went to bed early and
00:02:37Just wanted to like feel as then as possible for me
00:02:39Yeah, but it was cool
00:02:41Like we've we've done like a num we've done a lot of production rehearsals now at this point for the tour
00:02:44So doing the same thing we've done like a number of times recently
00:02:48but like just with an audience I like had to keep convincing myself that we were actually doing it in front of an audience now because
00:02:55We're sort of we're revealing like what the basic set list is and the lights and there's no more secrets anymore
00:03:01Yeah, even though they're like we'll do something new
00:03:04sort of at every show and but um
00:03:06Yeah, I was really that like they said it it did exceed our expectations
00:03:10I feel it felt like big and cool and so like it's gonna be good to where I think yeah
00:03:15As a newbie for me, it's like I didn't know I know you guys are touring now
00:03:18I didn't know how many tours or how many tours were there prior you guys been on?
00:03:24That's a good question. Let me do some math in my
00:03:28How many have we done like a tour for every album?
00:03:32Yeah, so like the 2018 there's one in 2018 one in 2019
00:03:36I mean as a tour like an album cycle or is a tour like North America Europe
00:03:41You get in the crackling. Oh, yeah, yeah, I think that's just a headphone crackling though. Oh, I was like I kind of love it
00:03:51Feels like a campfire
00:03:53I thought you'd start going
00:03:55Yeah
00:03:572018
00:03:592019
00:04:01Yeah, no, I mean we've been on what like three tours or like more than that
00:04:05It's you know I'm saying like a tour per album sort of yeah
00:04:08But then it's always broken up into like smaller chunks, right?
00:04:13so
00:04:15Oh, yeah, cuz there was a tour for the spring EP technically
00:04:17And then three albums. Yeah, so yeah, the fourth door. Wow. Yeah. Yeah, and that's Europe included
00:04:24Yeah, so like yeah, okay, sorry when I say tour, it's like yeah different runs
00:04:30So that you know yeah, this is I mean in terms of a North American tour in general
00:04:35Probably like our eighth or something overall Wow
00:04:37How many times we hit it cuz like we're gonna hit North America again more next year and yeah territories and something like well
00:04:43You know what when you come back we'll have another mic. Yeah
00:04:45I promise I promise
00:04:47used to it
00:04:49That's great
00:04:50No, I think so we've toured a lot but like four cycles like we just started a this tour will go like throughout next year
00:04:58So that's in this whole tour will be even though we end this run in mid-september like this will be done and yeah
00:05:04Like it kind of like a year and a half. So that's when you go to to Europe
00:05:08Make it a Europe in a couple months. Yeah, that's pretty quick. Yeah, and then Australia
00:05:12And then we do a lot more next like a lot of festivals next year
00:05:15And so I'm actually gonna go to the show you have in London because really yeah, I'll be there in October
00:05:23Oh, so I'll get to experience what a Canadian crowd is like and what a you know
00:05:30The UK crowd is like for a wall of show so I'm excited for that look
00:05:34I love Canadian crowds but like UK does give they go places a run for them. They are crazy. Yeah, I've been to a
00:05:42UK shows just as a fan and
00:05:45Yeah, the crowds there the fans are just I don't know what's in their systems, but they are
00:05:51Insane in the best way possible. It's awesome. Like their festival crowds too
00:05:56Like we played Redding and Leeds a couple did you yeah, and wow we played it like
00:06:02two o'clock in the afternoon
00:06:05Did not have any expectations of crowd or like energy and it was kind of by far and away the best well
00:06:12One of the best festival crowds we've had because then we had South America, which was also crazy
00:06:15I was just gonna say you know what do like in Canada Montreal is known for
00:06:19Being the crowd. Oh, yeah, it's it's it's huge like a Metallica came here to record a show
00:06:25Like for a live video and they they shot the whole thing over two days here. They didn't use any of the footage
00:06:30They use everything from everything from Montreal. Oh Montreal is like the most European Canadian city
00:06:36Yeah
00:06:37So it was like they used all of it and I'm like I went to the two shows like if it was like a free ticket type of thing
00:06:42Oh, and they told you to okay go now go crazy, and it was like the master of puppets or whatever it and then
00:06:47People are just nodding their heads not in their heads smoking a joint
00:06:52That's what I was gonna ask you did you when you guys came over the board did you smell weed?
00:06:57Was it a point? No, no, I mean funnily enough
00:07:02Going back to Portland. Yes, this is a funny story. I don't really smoke weed. I don't know if you guys I don't know
00:07:08Whatever. I don't really smoke weed, but I could like count on my hands the amount of times I have but
00:07:15Last time we were in Portland was the last time I was high
00:07:17Yeah, and it was an accident in a way and the hotel we were staying at literally feels like you're already high because it's like it's like
00:07:25hypnotized tiles it's like
00:07:27crazy
00:07:28Wallpaper is a crazy it's like in like there's like antler chairs and I'm just like crazy and I remember getting out of the elevator
00:07:35Because I like took like one hit of something. I was like I'm not gonna get high. It's all good
00:07:39And yeah, I was just like it was like 30% THC
00:07:42No, no, I did jumping jacks
00:07:44I was like you're not hybrid and you're good and oh god
00:07:47What a night and then we went back to the hotel and I was like I feel like I'm high again because this place is so trippy and already so
00:07:54Yeah, be responsible. Yeah, no, no, I made one mistake of there was I have some really light stuff for my condition right?
00:08:01Mm-hmm arthritis super low THC high CBD. There's something cracking. That's right. Yeah
00:08:06There we go. Oh, this might might get there. Yeah, sorry. Just headphones. Oh, um
00:08:10So I went on the porch one day after we finished filming Connor was out
00:08:14I went to the cupboard. I pulled this half a joint out and I'm like my my body was killing me. Yep
00:08:19Puffed it like crazy. I'm sitting there listening to some music and then I was like
00:08:23Holy shit, I'm not here and then it was a major panic attack. Oh, yeah, and then like D realization
00:08:30I didn't know where I was maybe you didn't ask for help though
00:08:33No, we were all home and my sister gets one text and it was like can I get some water and then I was
00:08:42She's like yeah, sure. Where are you and then?
00:08:45He's like I'm in the closet and he was in the bedroom closet upstairs
00:08:51Sunglasses on curled up in a ball listening to meditation music
00:08:55No way. Yeah underneath my wife's clothes like I was behind them and I was like I I just have to
00:09:01It was like no. I'm not doing this again. Wow. That's hilarious. That's a really good story
00:09:06No, so I if if if I'm gonna have a puff of my stuff
00:09:08I keep it in my own jar and in you know away from his anybody else's stuff, right? Yeah
00:09:15That's your new like red alert text. Yeah, you text. Can I get a glass of water? Yeah
00:09:18Yeah, the only way they calm me down which was crazy is they put headphones on me with modern family
00:09:24Oh, wow and said close your eyes
00:09:26They put an eye patch on and I watch modern family. I feel like you just got to distract yourself. Yeah
00:09:30Yeah, cuz I was weird, but yeah, no, I'm not like you should try the Texas Chainsaw Massacre next time
00:09:40Okay, that brings me to the video I loved watching the making of the video the other night and
00:09:45And it was super super cool like so could I ask that house by itself?
00:09:51Looked haunted. Where was the house and did some killings actually happen?
00:09:57No, it looked freaky. Yeah, no, it is the bad dream video, right? Yes. Yeah the bad dream video
00:10:01Yeah, where that was filmed just some place in just a just a random house in Hollywood. Wow. Yeah, just like deep Hollywood kind of weird
00:10:081950s
00:10:10Yeah, it's kind of like creaky old weird like it's like a place you rent online to film stuff. So it's like gutted. Yeah
00:10:18Yeah, that was fun. No, it was fun watching it in the process, right?
00:10:21It's a weird house though. Like it's a very I
00:10:25was there and I was like
00:10:27My girlfriend came to visit and I was like you have to look at this house
00:10:31It's kind of weird because the entrance feels like it's the entrance to a mansion
00:10:35You know like the spiral staircase. He's like marble floors and you go in all the other bedrooms are just like wooden
00:10:41It's really strange and it's just in the middle of a very busy Hollywood area
00:10:46But then we also did some of the video
00:10:49I like a really nice sort of mid-century home and in
00:10:53Is it Tarzana or something? No, it was like some of the valley kind of
00:10:57Yeah
00:10:59Now it's a really beautiful house, but we did like we shot sort of three different videos at the same time which we've never done before
00:11:05We did bad dream obviously and then we did this video for you show me where my days went. That's yeah
00:11:10Yeah, and you're talking lately for us
00:11:16We love you guys. Yeah, you're welcome next week
00:11:19We did that in the backyard of the mid-century house
00:11:21And then we did a thing where we jumped in the pool of that house for another video
00:11:24So it's just two days of like three videos at once and yeah, like but then we had all our friends coming in to do the shots for bad
00:11:30Dream and stuff like that
00:11:31Um, the bad dream is like my favorite video we've made so oh, I love it
00:11:36There's one of my favorites. Yes, it's a creepiness about it. Thanks. Yeah, like it's creepy and who okay? Can I ask? I gotta ask who's the creep?
00:11:44How did you get the creep his name is Steven? Yeah, yeah, Steven's mean then
00:11:48Uh, shout out Steven shout out to Steven. Yeah, so easy to work with and yeah
00:11:54So just down like he was like the more you put me in the video the better just like down to like just grind it out
00:12:02The so my girlfriend Nina directed the video did she yeah, yeah, wow the producers that she worked with
00:12:10Worked on a Joji video. Yeah from a Joji as a youtuber whom yes. Yes. Yeah nectar nectar is a I think so
00:12:17Yeah, yeah, yeah, but you can see Steven the same dude
00:12:23In a Joji video where they're like on the beach and it's also just so like weird and funny and cool
00:12:29Yeah, so yeah that that video I forget what the song is, but um, it's really good
00:12:34Yeah
00:12:34We had a mask for him originally to wear did you the killer and yeah, I realized his face is too iconic by itself
00:12:40Like not even like in a bat we're just like dude. You look awesome. Yeah, and you have a great look so happy that we made that choice
00:12:47Yeah, he was like I'd rather not have the basket. Yeah, let's just go helps him for his career exactly
00:12:52Yeah, yeah, who's the guy behind the mask? Who knows right? Yeah, no one knows
00:12:57It was the first shot mirror watching yeah
00:12:59We were watching rehearsal and we were like he's wearing the mask like I think it was better without the mask
00:13:03Yeah, and it was a good call. Yeah, no
00:13:06So those other two are they gonna be released or have they been released?
00:13:08They have they have a dream is the last one of those to come out one of them was sort of like more of a visualizer
00:13:13Yeah, and a thing is slow motion out of a pool and whatever. Yeah
00:13:17And then the other was also one take thing, but it was where we destroy this set that we built in the backyard of this house
00:13:23And oh, yeah, yeah
00:13:26Pretty like simple but it Connor keeps me on a tight leash. So this I've only listened to model. Oh cool
00:13:32Yeah, actually, you know what I get my question
00:13:34I guess I'll have to go to is I watched the today's show performance, right? Okay, so cool. So I so I was spoiled by one song, right?
00:13:41But how was that like because I've what I grew up watching the today's show and those performances outside and then being there in New York and
00:13:48Just your guys's interaction with the the audience and then you hand in the microphone over to them and that stuff like that was
00:13:54Was it morning show?
00:13:56Yeah, today's show. Yeah, that's right. Yeah. How was that was that it was surreal? Yeah, because like I
00:14:03Remember, I think you guys probably too, but I remember like growing up and
00:14:07Watching it before school like eating like that's
00:14:10Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, like it's it's so it's in Canada. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Oh cool. Yeah. We have to bootleg it, but it's
00:14:19There's 13 antennas on the roof
00:14:23Felt like it's it's hard sometimes to have like a big moment and have it actually feel
00:14:28Real like soak it in and feel like a real big moment. Yeah, we were there doing it
00:14:32I was like this feels pretty legit. This is crazy
00:14:35Like being in the middle of Rockefeller and like that is thousand fans there and it's five in the morning and you're but it was it's that early?
00:14:42We got there like four three. Yeah, I woke up at like three in the morning to get ready to go
00:14:46It was it was good morning, you know
00:14:48Wow
00:14:49And we just played the night before like an album release show at Bowery ballroom
00:14:53So like man, how do you guys do it? I got like 30 minutes hour of sleep and then we played but it went well
00:14:57Like when you and it's it was our first time doing something on live television because yeah
00:15:01It's always pre-recorded and that's yes, like SNL or that and so which we haven't done SNL yet, but you will though. Thanks
00:15:09Yeah, it was so that was nerve-wracking
00:15:12But once we did it it just felt it went well and then like our brain and I our moms were there you might have seen and they're like
00:15:19That is incredible. It was cool. What a cool moment. Hey, here's my questions. Okay. Okay. Yeah, he's got him in his head
00:15:25Let's hear it. I'm 75 so I'm excited. Okay. I'm gonna actually read this one. Okay
00:15:30I know it's only day tour of the tour guys
00:15:33But as you move along is there certain tracks that you feel you will give a little bit of arrangement change to increase the length the tempo and mess around with
00:15:41There's there certain ones that you said, you know, you're gonna play around with do you ever
00:15:46Have like psychic visions
00:15:48You do you ever like predict the future because that happened. Yeah, we did that. Did you yeah, we did we
00:15:54Wait, you said yes, I'm really interested in that. No. Yeah, we we actually did
00:16:01Extend the arrangements and do different versions of the songs for the first time like ever on this tour. So yes, we are gonna do that
00:16:08That's fantastic model songs. Not really right. No, but some of the older some of the older stuff because you know
00:16:13Sometimes when you play it, you know for the hundredth time. Yeah, you can you start to
00:16:18Realize like okay, maybe something should change here just because like we've been doing it the same
00:16:23So yeah, there's definitely some sort of new arrangements and also we have like like more lights than ever
00:16:28So like the lights are kind of influencing how we arrange that's interesting. It is very interesting. It's it's
00:16:34So yeah, yes, that's that is a great. Yeah, no, I always wonder you know
00:16:39I went to John Cougar Mellencamp, right? He's been playing
00:16:43You know for millions of years. My wife's a huge fan. We go to the show
00:16:50He's gonna kill me
00:16:52But he like pink houses he changes it so much now
00:16:57Like he's he's done it so long that it's like it's it's actually boring for him, right?
00:17:02He's been doing it 30 years or something so and Jack and Diane he changes it up so so much
00:17:06But you know with the new with a new album like model if you get to a point like halfway through the tour
00:17:11You're like, you know what you're gonna extend the the middle of section, you know, I mean and
00:17:16You know me just extend the middle of the section and do you know just have that creativity
00:17:19Yeah, change something up like I could see at some point we're in the tour where you go, you know what I want to
00:17:24Add this or that you know, I mean, yeah
00:17:27Yeah, I feel like this time like yeah, we might have that instinct at some point
00:17:33But because of the the way that everything has to come together production wise
00:17:37Yeah, like we don't have as much freedom to like make those changes on the fly
00:17:43Because we're playing to a click and like there's some tracks and oh, okay
00:17:46Yeah, yeah the lights like everything is yeah, I'm coded out in advance
00:17:49Like whenever the lights are in sync with hits, it's all like pre-planned. Yeah, so we'd have to like bring a lighting
00:17:56But we'd have to do like a lot more big overhaul if we were to make an arrangement change
00:18:01Now yeah, so we kind of had to like use our psychic visions
00:18:06So like pre-plan this whole show. Oh, that's oh, that's a good point
00:18:10I didn't think about the lighting and all that that's structure, right? Yeah production merciless. We were like giving a ton of
00:18:16the production rehearsals are like when you're playing a show and like a big like sort of warehouse space and you can like
00:18:21Play the show as if that you were doing it to make sure that it all looks good
00:18:24And you know what you're doing but like we'd sit we come in early and give
00:18:27hours of notes on like little light details and whatnot and then the people that are programming the lights were there to like
00:18:32Two or five in the morning every night just like making the notes on them
00:18:35So it's like wow, we really put a lot of effort and work into this show like more than ever. Mm-hmm and
00:18:41Yeah, and like it's the first time that we're playing to like all
00:18:44Click and the lights are programmed to like the lights are programmed to art click so yeah
00:18:50That's it's it's really interesting
00:18:51But it's it doesn't make the show feel like more bulletproof in a way really like like it feels like yeah
00:18:56It's like pretty locked in yeah as a drummer. I was just gonna ask you. Yeah. Yeah, sometimes I forget that that's what's happening
00:19:03Yeah, like it almost feels as though like the drums like I'm in control of it in a way
00:19:09Yeah, like you hit and then the life you're like, oh
00:19:13Yeah, like it's like really yeah, it feels like really fun to like yeah
00:19:18Like wow everything's like in sync somehow
00:19:20Yeah, but does that take away a little bit from your freedom of your fills and stuff like that?
00:19:24It definitely I think playing to a click yeah becomes a bit I mean I still have so much fun. Yeah. Yeah, it takes the
00:19:32Mystery away. Yeah, because like yeah, I can still do like some different fills and stuff. Yeah
00:19:37Ultimately like my job on stage is to not like fuck it up basically
00:19:41Yeah, I do that then the whole show if the whole show was like off by a
00:19:45Yeah
00:19:46It would be a disaster
00:19:48It would be horrible
00:19:49So I'm like I'm pretty like I was watching video from last night and like during a lot of the songs where I'm really focused
00:19:55Like my mouth is just okay
00:19:57Like I do like consciously think about like what what's happening now spoiler there is
00:20:03There is one song we don't play to click. Yeah, don't and that's one that I drum. Okay. Oh
00:20:10Well, this is not a very good drummer and I can't play to a click
00:20:14I'm gonna try to play to a click and I just fall off. It's hard to think man. It's hard. So that one we just
00:20:18Play really fast and just free ball that one
00:20:20But then and then our lighting guy is like actually doing the lights manually man. Yeah. Yeah, and he's doing stuff manually and every song
00:20:29I don't really know how it works, but like say yeah, it's all kind of a miss really serious
00:20:33Yeah, you hear what timecode is? Yeah. Yeah, it's like when you hear timecode
00:20:38It's just like the craziest yes alarming sounds screech. So yeah, like whatever the how would you explain whatever the
00:20:45Is that for them for the click?
00:20:47For the lights to match the click. Oh, wow
00:20:50Like I guess cuz lights like lights don't understand
00:20:54Audio or like MIDI. Yeah, I always thought it would be like MIDI changes or some MIDI logs to you know
00:21:00Yeah, like the way lights work. It has to be like FPS
00:21:05So I think it's like 24 frames. So yeah, like timecode I'm not gonna explain this totally
00:21:11You have to like instead of being on a BPM. It's like you have to pick the right
00:21:18Frame as though it's like a movie because it the lights understand like what a camera would understand. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, that makes sense
00:21:25So when you hear just that
00:21:27Data or whatever that would be it's like it's just like
00:21:30Yeah, yeah robot you're hearing that no
00:21:35She's that'd be crazy. That'd be I that'd be awesome
00:21:38Yeah, no, but when you hear it for a second like oh, that's the time code and it's like so disturbing sounding. It's like
00:21:44That's crazy. One of my one of my questions here. I don't know if you have another question. You can go for you
00:21:48I'm just I'm just going through I'm just throwing away here
00:21:52This was I'm coming back to that the headphone point
00:21:56But at what point in the writing process do you guys decide who's going to be doing lead vocals? So what's that process? That's for me?
00:22:04it's
00:22:04it's really interesting because
00:22:06Does somebody come up with the song originally and say I'm singing this or do you go that?
00:22:10Hey, maybe that's for one of you got, you know someone else. Yeah, I mean I'd say
00:22:1490% of the time the person who
00:22:18Comes up with the melody will sing the song. Okay, I would say yeah
00:22:21There's a few examples in our catalog where don't and I both sing lead and usually that has to do with the fact that maybe I
00:22:29Started a melody and then he came up with one. I'm like, well, I don't want to let go of the thing. I started so maybe we just mix them together
00:22:35That's very McCartney and Lennon. Yeah. Yeah, we try to I mean, yeah, that's that's always a huge kind of influence for us as well
00:22:44and
00:22:45There's I mean, I think the main example of a song that like was like given to another person to sing was probably only ecstasy
00:22:53like I remember like not given but like I just basically had the the verse and the chorus for the last song on model and
00:23:01and then Dylan just like
00:23:03Had these other amazing lyrics that he came up with and I'm just like it doesn't feel right if I sing those
00:23:08Words because they're just so true to you
00:23:11Mm-hmm and then he had other melodies that he brought to the table and we debated for a second if we should both sing a verse or
00:23:18Something but it just didn't feel natural on the other hand the song a warning on model
00:23:22We both saying a whole passive lead each so I sang the whole song he's saying the whole song and we told our producer John
00:23:29We're like you pick who sings what because we both want to sing on that song. Yeah, and then that that happened pretty well
00:23:34But usually it's just pretty demo actually kind of didn't want to sing about song. Well, I would die. Oh, yeah, true. Oh, no, I died. Sorry. Oh
00:23:43Sorry to hear the door
00:23:46No, I
00:23:48You know
00:23:50It's a terrible
00:23:52Yeah, we just we just hear you through a frequency like you're you're like
00:23:59Fix I'm gone, but it's okay. Okay. Thank you. No, I actually kind of didn't want to sing a warning
00:24:04I remember hoping that John would be like yeah Brayden sounds better for some reason so you said we both want to
00:24:08I kind of didn't want to I don't know. I was like I wanted to try it
00:24:11He was like you both sound great. I was like, all right. Yeah, I love that song
00:24:14I was just like I don't need to sing this song. Yeah, but I like that you guys made that decision to say
00:24:18You know what you wrote the lyrics on this there's you know
00:24:21I mean it you should be singing and that's like that's a good thing like
00:24:24Within the band, right? Yeah, I'll also write lyrics at each other sing sometimes too. Oh, yeah, for sure
00:24:30You know, we help we all like it's the kind of thing
00:24:32We'll finish lyrics and we'll bring it to the at least for this album
00:24:34We bring it to the room with our producer John and us and we like read the lyrics and be like does this all make sense?
00:24:38and we break it down or change lines together and stuff like that, which is a pretty
00:24:43Frequent experience on this one. Cool. I got a question for you if you don't mind is you play drums? Yes, I've seen you play keys
00:24:51Conor showed me many Beatles covers
00:24:54What don't you play? Oh, my trombone cannot to play the trombone okay trumpet not play tron. Nope. Nope. Okay
00:25:02I just I mean I can barely play keys. I think like when we record yeah
00:25:07I'll often play the synths or the pianos just because like I I like can muscle through
00:25:14It in a way like like you're honestly a great keys player. I'm not
00:25:19Sound good. Yeah, but yeah, like I'm not I've just I'm fully self-taught MIDI keyboard warrior guy
00:25:27Yeah, I have no yeah
00:25:30It's tough for me. Yeah
00:25:32Yeah, I just think it's a guitar player too. Yeah, it's crazy triple threat
00:25:38Quadruple threat. Yeah, yeah, I'm gonna go back to mine. Yeah, sorry. Yeah, mine are all Beatles related. Oh, dude
00:25:47I'm excited
00:25:49Let's go
00:25:51This is one thing I really want to ask because I'm always curious because oh actually I had this question to take that question
00:25:57Well, no, let's just take it here
00:25:59Okay, let's hear it
00:26:02This isn't your writing. I had it written a little different you can but he reads a lot of books. I'm
00:26:08Playboy
00:26:11Do you all have musical not y'all sorry I said it like I didn't write no I know I said it very country
00:26:18Just say do you all have musical household? No, do you all have musical house?
00:26:23Did you all did you all have musical households growing up? So and my question was kind of like, you know, what are some early?
00:26:31Memories of music in your households because you showed me a lot of music growing up here's here
00:26:37Yeah
00:26:37That's why when people on the channel say can you turn the tables the dad needs to show Connors to music? Oh, yeah
00:26:42I'm always well, I can he knows Elton John pink. Oh, right
00:26:45We get comments all the time people like ours and can you show can the dad show Connor Sgt. Pepper or
00:26:53Thriller, yeah, no, I'm like dude like, you know
00:26:57But we've thought about faking it one day as a yeah, yeah, yeah, where I just freak out. Yeah, like comfortably numb. He's like yeah
00:27:03I just like crazy that's funny
00:27:06That's funny
00:27:07But anything for you guys like that was yeah, what are some like early?
00:27:11Memories you have like just with in your households with music? Yeah, I mean my dad's amazing guitar player
00:27:17And was in a lot of like local bands in Ohio where I'm from where I grew up
00:27:22Amazing guitar player and I remember one of the first things I thought of was him playing at this place called the mocha house
00:27:27Like a coffee shop when I was like three years old and yeah
00:27:31I mean, I would go to so many so many of his gigs and he's also a huge Beatles fan like that's like his thing and he showed me
00:27:40the Beatles one album and sergeant pepper when I was like nine and it just like it definitely made me want to start playing music
00:27:46That's great. Um, which was amazing
00:27:48And my dad also was amazing guitar player growing up kind of the same story as Brad and I was in Indiana
00:27:53My dad was playing a bunch of bands and he would like we'd be having dinner like my mom and dad and I and
00:27:58He'd have on these records. He'd be playing all like classic rock stuff and then and he would quiz me on it
00:28:03So like I remember I'd be listening to abbey road at like three and four
00:28:06I know every all the words every song in abbey road. It's like the first album. I remember really like
00:28:11Understanding and like seeking my teeth into and um, he'd be asking me like now who sings this one? I'd be like George Harrison
00:28:18Yeah, like and that's actually the first album that I bought myself
00:28:22I remember when I like bought a CD I bought abbey road for the first time and I was like cool. I bought abbey road
00:28:27Um, and cold with yeah, I mean, how did you start? Yeah, I my family no musical no musical
00:28:36uh, not a musical household at all, but um
00:28:39I I think for me playing music was my parents just wanted me to like do something. Yeah, and so
00:28:45Uh, my sister and I were swimmers. Oh, wow
00:28:48I woke up and I was like, I really don't want to swim anymore
00:28:51Yeah, um, and so I was obsessed with guitar hero and rock band and so yeah, that is the reason that I decided to play drums
00:28:59Um, wow
00:29:00Guitar hero and rock band. That's sick. Yeah, my mom said like oh, yeah
00:29:03Just whatever keeps you out of trouble and that was for me playing playing the drums. Did you start with a kit?
00:29:08Uh, with with a drum kit. Yeah. Yeah. Well, yeah
00:29:12I don't know if you've ever played rock band. I've played rock band. Yeah
00:29:14Yeah, the 360. Yeah, the drums are more or less like like real drums. Yeah
00:29:19So if you can go expert mode in in rock band, you're you're basically just playing actual
00:29:24Drum music. Yeah, so it translates really easily
00:29:28Do you still go back and play some rock band here and there? No, I wish
00:29:31You should have that on the bus
00:29:34Yes, guitar three. Yeah, so cool
00:29:37Beatles rock band didn't we we once had a like sleepover at Braden's house where we played the almost the entirety of beatles rock band
00:29:44In a single night
00:29:46From the cavern to the rooftop
00:29:52Oh fantastic
00:29:54What else you got on your list? I've got so many
00:29:56It's so wow go for it. Yeah, I'm loving I'm loving these. Okay
00:30:01Gentlemen, yes, is there a city or a venue you're most looking forward to playing on this tour and it went straight to
00:30:09I'm just gonna say where I'll let you guys up. This is no bullshit. Top three for me is vancouver. I'm very excited. Wow, seriously
00:30:14super excited like I
00:30:16I think just because I spent a lot of time here my girlfriend's from here. Yeah, I we all love vancouver in general
00:30:21But like I've now spent like extra time here and totally not related to work and it's like my favorite city
00:30:27It's like a top three city for me in the world. So naturally, I'm just excited to be here again and know a lot
00:30:32I have people on a guest list here. I'm excited. It'll be great. Oh, this is that's fantastic
00:30:36I just wanted to I mean, it's kind of changing the subject a little bit
00:30:40But I was just curious about like how you came across
00:30:44Watching was it you that that found the channel Dylan or was it?
00:30:49Yeah, I mean, hi, did I tell you guys about or do you guys seen it to you told you showed me? Okay. Yeah
00:30:53I've seen videos you would found it as well brain and I are
00:30:57YouTube searchers. Yeah, yeah, we yes, I guess we both kind of found you guys
00:31:02Yeah, yeah
00:31:03I was curious about how you found like do you remember what video it was or like was there a specific band that you like
00:31:09It popped up in your feed and yeah, I wish I remember the first one would it be those guys back there?
00:31:14It I know it might have been might have been is this it you react?
00:31:18Oh, yeah. Yeah, we did that. We did that. Yeah, I've been that one because it was like I look like I really like
00:31:24Watching people react to things particularly things that I'm very familiar with so like
00:31:30Watching you show him
00:31:32Yes, I'm like is this it? I was probably something like that or it was like a
00:31:37New album that had just come out at that time must have been like I mean you guys been doing it for a couple years, right?
00:31:41Yeah, yeah three almost no just over three years. Oh, wow, that's nuts. Yeah, I think it must have been I told
00:31:47It was gonna last a month. Wow. Yeah, I did I said it's it's a month. It's done
00:31:52It could have been a rap album of some kind too. Like did you guys do mr. Morale? Yes. Yeah, yeah
00:31:57It might have been like mr. Morale. Yeah
00:32:00But and then I just like I was like this is great
00:32:03And it's got in this deep dive and I just love watching you guys. It's just so fun because I was just curious like, you know
00:32:09About you watching us react to your own album. I feel like that's such a that's an odd thing, you know surreal
00:32:16But uh, like I don't know like yeah explain that feeling like not just us
00:32:22I mean, I think there's a couple other reactions out there. I've seen people do it
00:32:26For model, I don't know about the the previous records, but like is that something you seek out?
00:32:32You want to like see what how people feel I've never seeked it out before like I think I
00:32:38Really watch your guys videos all the time
00:32:40And so I was like I always watch it like I'm so cool one day
00:32:43I want to watch them react to wallows. I want to I want to watch you show Kevin
00:32:48Wallows and um, and then one day. I just like I think I was like
00:32:53I could just dm and be like have you guys listen to wallows?
00:32:57Um, I was just sitting there. I was like, let me just try and then I was like, yeah, I would love to listen
00:33:01I was like awesome. Um, but no, I uh
00:33:05It was really I mean, I love watching reactions to things so like watching
00:33:11You I I like watching any reaction I can to people listening to our music because I just love reaction music
00:33:16Yeah, so no me too. Um, so what you guys like do a 30-minute video of reacting the model was uh
00:33:22I'll get that hold on
00:33:23We can take that up and post. Oh, that was the dog out the window. She's trying
00:33:34Those australian doodles. Yeah
00:33:37Sorry, you're saying no, I think I think we were all like there was some really exciting moments where we were in the car
00:33:42I think it was you you had said some really like high praise things were like wow, that's crazy
00:33:47I think you said something you were like
00:33:49I feel like I'm we're lucky that there's music like this being made now or something. Yeah, no, sure
00:33:55That's such a crazy compliment. Yeah, actually like when I watch you react to
00:34:00So many albums that I love I'm like, that's crazy. You just said that about our album. That's really it's really cool
00:34:03It feels like it's a really validating thing to watch you guys react to our album honestly
00:34:07But you know what that's I really meant that from my heart because like I grew up an 80s guy
00:34:11Right, I grew up with 80s production
00:34:13I love there's so many 80s bands and I'm not saying you guys are 80s, but just
00:34:18The the way you guys
00:34:20Worked all together having different vocalists there's I don't know the track cole. I was listening to it this morning
00:34:27You're the drum your your your beat on that kit was unreal. I'll have to look go back. I wouldn't mind
00:34:34Which I
00:34:38Probably would have been yeah, yeah, yeah, I remember you guys were like this beat is crazy. Yes, yes, yes
00:34:44And I'm like, it's just so cool to hear and you guys were and that I died
00:34:47I dove deeper into you guys looking like in the studio and stuff like that and the way you know
00:34:52Your little Instagram post where you yeah, where you're where you're testing out things you're doing this and you're checked out this run this
00:34:58I love that
00:34:59thing because I was in a band many bands over the years and it's that it's that
00:35:03Thing that happens between you know, everybody right, which is the magic which in which you guys are doing now, which is
00:35:09Like it's super cool, right? So I'm
00:35:12Will not cry tonight at the show. I think I get very emotional at shows
00:35:17Really I very I really get crazy like we cried at Danny, but both of us cried at Danny Brown. Oh, yeah
00:35:23Yeah, I hope you I hope to make you shed a tear tonight. Yeah. Yeah, that's new goal
00:35:27I am I feel like what it also is is we geek out over like music stuff all the time
00:35:33And I like have like I love getting excited by things and listen to them and like showing them to the guys
00:35:37Like this is so cool. We've always been that way. So I think like that's why I like reaction videos a lot and so
00:35:43Watching you guys do that to our music and you guys having like excited reaction
00:35:47Even if I'm watching you just kind of like because I noticed sometimes like when you're into something
00:35:51You'll kind of like chuckle or smirk and like I noticed that and you were doing that some of our moments
00:35:54I was like he likes this one. Yeah, like that's how I am
00:35:57I listen to something like that really affects me. I kind of love moves. Yeah, this is so good
00:36:02I have to like laugh
00:36:04And so it's just it's really cool to see that translate for other people because that's how I am when I listen to music too
00:36:09and yeah, um to give that reaction to people is uh
00:36:12It's crazy and I feel like I if I could have like
00:36:15Everyone react like film their reactions to our music. I'd probably watch all of it
00:36:19It's just fun fun to see even if it's like negative. I'm like I love to watch. Yeah, I don't know
00:36:23I also like kind of to keep like the finger on the pulse of things of what people like and yeah
00:36:27Oh, well that kind of leads me to what I wanted to ask as well, uh was
00:36:32For all three of you guys, uh, what's your album of the year so far?
00:36:37Model
00:36:40What's your what's your second favorite album of the year other than model?
00:36:44That's a great question. I'm trying to think of like there's I feel like there's been so much music
00:36:48Have you been like following up with or like, you know trying to stay up to date with new stuff?
00:36:52I usually am pretty on top of it and this year has like just gotten away from me
00:36:57I feel like there is a lot this year of so much. Yeah. Yeah, I mean
00:37:01I I finally listened to brat and I'm like, oh man, it's just great. It's great. Yeah, so it's really genuinely great. That is up there
00:37:08I think I
00:37:09Don't know. I mean, I don't want to take your answer brain, but it might be similar answer, but I
00:37:13Well, I do think one that still stands really high for me just as really impressive and that I love
00:37:18And is addicting is only gob is above us vampire weekend. Like I really did you see our poster when you walked in?
00:37:25Oh, actually no
00:37:27Uh, but I did watch your guys reaction to that one. Yeah, that was
00:37:30Oh, oh, yeah, mine is only gob was above us. So yeah, yeah, yeah, I feel that was mine as well
00:37:34There are others Brad is up there. I do love that yard act album a lot. Yeah, I'm out this phenomenal. Yeah, it's really great
00:37:41I have to look at my list. I have a crazy way that I like keep track of albums. What's that way?
00:37:51This is how I keep track of this all like whenever I see an album announcement all like
00:37:55My notes are crazy
00:37:57I'll write them down like the artist and then dash like release dates
00:38:01I know when they're coming out and then I make sure I listen to all them and
00:38:04Or check them out at least and I'll color put a color dot next then based on if I like didn't like it
00:38:11Sort of liked it or like really liked it loved it. Mm-hmm
00:38:14Red signifies
00:38:16Didn't really like this yellow. It's like it's fine
00:38:19Probably won't listen to it again
00:38:20Purple is like I really like this and so I like keep track
00:38:23Oh, wow, and I like check them out. Oh, yeah, like all these and this I keep track of things
00:38:28This is not from just this year is it this is from justice here
00:38:32I've all these ones coming out. I haven't heard yet. Like, you know, let's see. What's the next this next Friday is uh
00:38:38September I can't see I can't figure out when the garbage guys show up
00:38:43No, this next Friday is August
00:38:45What day is it August so it's August 16th August 9th, so we got King Gizzard coming up. Oh, we got like this 75th album, right? Yeah
00:38:56I'm really excited for Sabrina Carpenter. Oh, yeah, I can't wait spirit of the beehive August 23rd
00:39:01Have you guys heard spirit of the beehive? No, I have no really cool band. I think you really like love your cover of Sabrina
00:39:06I watch that last. Oh, let's go 225. Yeah, that was sweet. I I checked that out, too
00:39:11It was awesome. I was up all night. That's awesome watching lots of stuff, right? She um
00:39:16We got her approval. She like oh, did really? Yeah, I did so
00:39:19Fantastic you uh, would you mind sending me a screenshot of some of those albums? Yeah, I feel like I'm like
00:39:27Falling behind on you know new releases like people send us stuff all the time
00:39:31But they're also sending us stuff from like previous years because they're like oh you got to listen to this album
00:39:37Because you know so many albums coming out every year. Yeah, uh, so trying to keep up to date, you know
00:39:42Like for me well actually you go first. What's your album of the year right now?
00:39:47Oh, man, you know what? I have to say what I've been listening to the most in the last while painting and doing stuff. I've listened to uh
00:39:53Chapel Rhone. Oh, yeah, that's not this year though. That's last year. Oh, it's last year, but it feels like it's for me
00:39:59Yeah, yeah, yeah, so good. Yeah, no, I've listened to it
00:40:02I think it's it's it's pop writing
00:40:04Dan just did amazing job on that album. I mean it's hooky, but it's also it's super hooky
00:40:10But it's also the nuances that make it different
00:40:14In certain phrasing of vocals that make it not so like a structured complete pop song, you know, I mean like
00:40:21Yeah, there's different nuances in there and the way they pull down on certain things and it's um, it's a special album
00:40:27So I'm just that's for me because it's new. We just listen to it. It's an honorary
00:40:312024 release. Yes, it is. Yeah, it's really exciting. That's how I feel about like sabrina right now as well
00:40:35Like totally different. Yeah, I liked her her, you know, first record uh emails. I shouldn't send yeah
00:40:41Yeah, and uh, i'm so glad that she's getting like some recognition with this new goal with the
00:40:47With espresso really kind of blew up and then uh, the second single is phenomenal as well
00:40:53Like I thought this is a great pop song and then please please came out
00:40:56I was like, this is my favorite song of the year
00:40:59Now I can't wait like i'm really i'm always a sucker for if if to me like a perfect
00:41:04Pop album like a major event pop album can come out and it can be like a 10 out of 10 to me. That's like
00:41:10I i'm a sucker for an amazing pop album
00:41:13And like I feel like the last one that really hooked me like was sweetener by ariana grande in 2019. Oh, yeah
00:41:192018 or 20 i think 2019
00:41:21That album like i remember being this is incredible
00:41:24Like i've been waiting since then to have like another just like major event pop album to come out
00:41:27Yes, like it's perfect and i love slim pickings a new demo or or not demo acoustic performance
00:41:33Yeah, they have a new song i heard that yeah, so good really good amazing who's that?
00:41:36Uh, Sabrina Carpenter
00:41:39Teased it like oh wow jack antonoff and then like there was already like some one-liners. I was like this is i love it
00:41:44It's really cool. Yeah, I noticed a couple
00:41:47A fellow's name i searched him up, but he's he's he's got credits on a couple of your songs there
00:41:52He's a songwriter and he's done a lot of stuff. He actually did something with juice world
00:41:57Um on one of the tracks is it blake slacken. I think so yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
00:42:01Uh, he's a great friend of ours. Oh, really? Yeah, we have other songs
00:42:07We've started with him that we never really quite finished but like calling after me is one that we started with him
00:42:11Yeah, um
00:42:13and
00:42:14Yeah, he's he's definitely like uh, he's he's kind of high up there. I'm like the pop like scene now with like a lot of artists
00:42:20so I as as a writer myself like
00:42:23I've always like I always want to have that um
00:42:26That co-writer right that person because I always so I
00:42:29I'm horrible with self-doubt, right? I sit there and start doing something like that sucks
00:42:33But having someone else with the three you guys writing. What does that other person the fourth person the fourth person bring?
00:42:39What do they bring like a little bit of?
00:42:41Just a different structure that you know, what do they bring to them to the table really depends? That's a good question. I mean up until
00:42:49Tell me that it's over. I think we had basically no co-writers except for remi wolf on these days and and um julian
00:42:55as well as on these days and then um
00:42:58Claro on are you bored yet? Yeah, but other than that?
00:43:00We just wrote all those songs together and we still write songs just by ourselves, but usually the co-writer thing happens when we
00:43:09Have a day set to go try to to make a song in like a studio or something. Oh, okay
00:43:13Yeah, so I mean I think the most the most like um
00:43:18uh, what's the word like
00:43:21The the songwriting kind of partnership that blossomed the most between another person was named mercero
00:43:26We get along so well with him. He's like a modern day wizard of music and yeah, he just brings
00:43:33more uh
00:43:34interesting chord
00:43:36Structures that maybe we've never really tried to use before you know kind of weave these amazing ideas and arrangements into the songs
00:43:43We bring to the table
00:43:45Because i'm kind of like it's kind of a weird thing, but I I don't I would never want to like work on a song
00:43:50We didn't start ourselves
00:43:52So like we've been to songwriting things where like there's like a producer guy that's like hey
00:43:55I have this beat or this idea if you want to work off it and i'm just like
00:43:59I just it doesn't seem we need to start we need to start
00:44:02So usually we'll start something and then
00:44:05We just kind of progress that with the other person. That's usually where they oh, that's okay
00:44:09That's and that's usually only yeah when we have like oh
00:44:11We're going in with nate to try to record something from scratch like we're going to make something out
00:44:16That's usually where that happens
00:44:17But then other than that we're just at cole's place writing writing songs you just reminded me by mentioning her name uh
00:44:24Claro's new album, uh, that's definitely up there for me. Uh, I don't know if you guys you probably listened to it. I'm so we did
00:44:30Yeah, it's great. Yeah, I think it's really good. It's uh, it's been like the top five for me of this year
00:44:35I didn't say mine
00:44:37Yeah, which yeah, what's yours? Oh, yeah, what's yours? I might it's an obvious answer
00:44:41It's got to be brat. I just I yeah, yeah, he's been a charlie fan since he was like eight
00:44:52No, I've been following charlie's career since
00:44:562018 maybe same yeah around that time so like uh like before her self-titled record
00:45:02um
00:45:03I was following her you know when she was doing the mixtapes uh and stuff so
00:45:07Just to see where she is now like makes me so happy and how much praise the record is getting amazing
00:45:13Yeah, it's amazing anyone deserves like
00:45:16This amount of attention this late in her career. It's her like she's been doing she's been so great for so long
00:45:21So i'm like rooting for her mainstream success
00:45:23Yeah, and it's it's really awesome
00:45:24And I always like for in terms of brat like I have
00:45:28That piano outro of mean girls like stuck in my head cold. Yeah, my favorite part of the album
00:45:33Dude it's so good. Yeah, no, there's some charlie on our pre-show playlist. Oh, do you really? Oh, yeah?
00:45:39Oh, so we would do can you spoil which we got club classics we got mean girls and
00:45:45Oh, there's another
00:45:47Huh?
00:45:48No
00:45:49Fuck what else I put on there. There's another one in there
00:45:53There's another one well
00:45:54Well, we'll we'll always girl so confusing with lord. Oh, that's I love that remix. It's gotta
00:45:58It's gotta be the remix. Yeah, it's one of my favorite songs of the year is you know
00:46:01I love it. It's awesome. Connor. I think I I shit the bed because I listened to it before like no
00:46:07No, we listen to it. We listen to it together, but we like when we listen to it on the album, right?
00:46:11We listen to the original on the album, but then we did the uh, we listen to the remix together
00:46:15Yeah, but that was like wow that was something else. So it's it's amazing
00:46:20It was it was crazy because I had my first introduction to lord like how long like two weeks before that three weeks
00:46:26Uh, no, we did that to test the audio. That's right to film melodrama reaction. Yes, that's right
00:46:35Yeah, yeah put up on YouTube yet. I've been behind on editing. Yeah, we did a melodrama reaction amazing record
00:46:41uh, but from lord and uh, yeah, we tested the audio to make sure the levels were good with uh, that one yeah, and
00:46:49uh, it kind of gave you an introduction to lord before we jumped into the yeah, that was a fantastic um
00:46:55I tell you I just just like we can cut this out or whatever, but I have absolutely been blessed that he
00:47:00Brought me back to the love of music because I was in the corporate world
00:47:05I could care less and we we walked around the lake and he goes why aren't you picking up your guitar?
00:47:10Why aren't you playing your drums? I had a Gresh kit sitting in a pile and I just was like after that
00:47:15It's like I literally love music and I feel now that I'm on the pulse of
00:47:21Like I'm not my age. I feel so up to date up to date, you know
00:47:25I mean, which is I think if you lose that you're not listening to new music and you really do stick into the 70s and the 80s and you go
00:47:32Everything else is garbage
00:47:34Yeah, it's it's a bad place to be you got to keep you keep going after 30 when you have
00:47:39Children and your life changes and you got the mortgage and stuff like that. It's easy to fall off
00:47:44Stop cat it really is you just start you're too busy to listen to new music
00:47:47But when you you know he asked me to say you know check this out like it's really you know
00:47:52Yeah, thank you again. Yeah, it's and it's odd to like seeing like
00:47:57He'll like pull up to the house and he'll be like listening to like future dirty Sprite, too
00:48:04Yeah, that's awesome, and I but yeah, I know I was that same way song and I was rich sex rich sex. Yeah
00:48:12I got this old Honda pilot at Safeway and listen to rich sex. I'm like I got the windows open like
00:48:18People when I got you windows like you were gonna think of awesome
00:48:21So I want to be like oh, yeah, no no don't what are you gonna say what I'm like when I'm your age
00:48:25That's how I want to be like I
00:48:27I I I have sort of a pee when people like there's no good music anymore. I'm like, oh, you're so there's so much
00:48:33You know what I find there's too much
00:48:36There's two guys a lot. There's a there is like people
00:48:38I'll go on and there'll be messages of people sending albums and I'll listen
00:48:41I'll be like especially international stuff to international stuff. They'll send something and I'll be like there's
00:48:461500 followers, you know, how good could this be? You know, I mean like you hit it and you go fuck. It's killer. Yeah, like it's it's fantastic
00:48:54There's so much good stuff out there
00:48:56Yeah, I don't want to be like I don't want to be like 30 years from now. I'd be like no, there's nothing better than Brad
00:49:02Have an open mind. Yeah to what's out there. Yeah, I I just wanted to
00:49:09Talk a little Beatles with you guys go. Okay, that's right. Yeah, well, I will because I was talking to Dylan
00:49:15Through Instagram, and I think you told me that you're were you on a plane or on a bus and you're
00:49:20I
00:49:27Love it. Oh, well, thank you
00:49:31Um, and you were rearranging the white album
00:49:35That's a regular thing that you I like to read like sometimes I'll talk to like I've done this for years
00:49:39But I'm like imagine though if this were like this and I just like we'd come up with like a different like we've I remember one time
00:49:45Brady and I also made like a a John white album and a Paul white album or something like that
00:49:50Yeah, yeah, which one's better kind of thing
00:49:54Yeah, I don't even know if I let you finish the question really, but well, it wasn't almost a question
00:49:58I just wanted to kind of just jump on that subject because I do the same thing
00:50:03Especially with the white album. This is definitely a hot take but the white album is my favorite Beatles record
00:50:08Same I think we all kind of agree on oh my favorite as well. Maybe it's not it's not a hot take in this room. Yes, but
00:50:15Outside of here. It's definitely a it's a hot take
00:50:19But sorry, you can't no I just said sergeant peppers for me. So you guys you can't really go I respect it
00:50:24You have to yeah
00:50:25I only just recently decided like made the decision that that was my favorite Beatles album
00:50:29Like I only I was listening to every sounds like there's nothing
00:50:33Nothing cooler or more impressive than this from this time period to me like this is insane
00:50:36Well, and I just love how fucking wacky it is and how all over the place it is
00:50:43Um, so when you were saying obviously like, you know moving stuff around and making my own white album
00:50:47I was like, yeah, I I do that all the time. I
00:50:50Sometimes I was like, you know, I'll be thinking like oh, man
00:50:52imagine if they added
00:50:54Revolution instead of revolution one and you know put hey jude instead of uh
00:51:00Because I believe that was the other the other single single
00:51:03Yeah, I think we're having this conversation because we were in london for like model promo and we were like we were at no
00:51:15We weren't at abbey road. We passed it or something. Yeah, we were at abbey road a couple years ago
00:51:19Yeah, but um, we didn't record there. You just got like a tour awesome, but um
00:51:24We were just talking about it and then I we're on the plane to new york from
00:51:28London and I would just had it in my brain a city rexical and I think I sent you what the yeah playlist was like listen to this
00:51:34It rips rips, but I think I sort of wanted to go from the approach of like what would like a modern
00:51:42Cynical approach to the white album be like like in the streaming era
00:51:46Yeah, like if someone made in 2024 and they were too they were they weren't like bold enough to put like
00:51:52Uh, like uh piggies on it or something, right?
00:51:57Like let's just say like it just like, you know, the corkier moments of that album
00:52:01Like what would it be like if you stripped all those away like 12 tracks or something?
00:52:04Yeah, it ended up being like 17 which is like yeah, so many good songs on it. Yeah, I added revolution and hey jude
00:52:11Um, I was like wow this album is incredible as well
00:52:14So there's not really a wrong way you can do the white album because I was like I feel like if 2024 a band came out with this
00:52:20For like more cynical listeners and like a you know, not as patient of people and you like turned it down to like just the the heaters
00:52:27It's pretty insane. Did you keep uh
00:52:29Back in the ussr as the intro?
00:52:31No, no, really. I was really hard on it. I put revolution as the intro like imagine
00:52:38Oh, shit, that was the first track I put and I did that into dear prudence
00:52:42Actually, that's whoa. No, I wow. I think that's fantastic. I love back in the ussr, but I feel like it's very kind of like
00:52:48Surfy like bluesy, you know, and I'm like like I was trying to think of it from like modern
00:52:53So did you take it off the album? I took it off. I love I'm not saying this is better. It's not better. Oh, this is like
00:52:59It was just for fun. I know all right. No, we're gonna end this here
00:53:05There uh
00:53:06Yeah, that one was just for fun. I took it off
00:53:09Also took out birthday
00:53:11Yeah, that's I took off some of the ones I could just like the ones that maybe lean a little like sillier a little more like
00:53:18The time period to be fair. Yeah, I am. I'm a huge fan of back in the ussr
00:53:23Just because it's so it's so goofy and like I love it. It's like a almost a parody. It's incredible
00:53:29But yeah, I get what you mean in terms of like yeah, it wouldn't it's yeah, it's a little goofy. It wouldn't fit
00:53:34Uh revolution would probably be a good good intro there. Yeah, it was like and I don't need hey jude on the white album
00:53:41But like if it was on there, it's like damn this album is goes crazy. Yeah. Yeah, the anthem like yeah, the yellow of
00:53:48Yeah, I can um and then I like hey jude was second to last and then I had like I was like
00:53:54What would be cool to end after hey jude and I just put I will it's the last song. Oh, that's me
00:53:58That's a beautiful way to end it. Yeah, I was like it's cool. Wow. That's awesome. Yeah, I said it
00:54:01That's cool. Like I know there's no back in the ussr, but it does rip
00:54:04I'm gonna ask you guys. What are some must-haves on the road while you guys are touring?
00:54:11For me shower shoes like slides because
00:54:16They're all like these are all nice clean venues that were playing
00:54:18But like I've never stepped barefoot onto a shower floor at a venue for some reason
00:54:22I'm just like some venue showers you're like
00:54:25Like this is crazy. This has never been cleaned. Motley Crue played here
00:54:29So
00:54:32So for me, it's like I gotta have my shower shoes. I'm just weird about it
00:54:37I don't some of the I
00:54:39You can't unsee some of the venue showers you've seen
00:54:41You know, it'll ruin your whole day to go raw with the steppers into that
00:54:44Oh
00:54:46Oh man, uh, what do we do? I feel like we play a lot of a lot of various games
00:54:55On tour like tennis is something you need true. Yeah, we play tennis
00:54:59So we we fly with a tennis bag tennis court. Yeah, we need a tennis court in the bay
00:55:06But uh, yeah, we play tennis. We played
00:55:08Yesterday we did yeah one in portland. We played yesterday
00:55:11Um, so that's fun and we play katan. Do you know katan? I do more games on yeah
00:55:18Like when we we did this radio tour thing with um, it was just the three of us and then our tour manager gabe
00:55:25um, and we kept tally of every game like a win-loss record and then like a total points scored
00:55:32Yeah, it's like full-on like katan fantasy land
00:55:35Yeah, so yeah, and
00:55:37Uh for me, uh, I haven't yet, but I think a tour necessity will be my golf clubs
00:55:43So I'm bringing my golf clubs. They're not here yet
00:55:45But I'm going to be getting them in vegas and uh like there and uh
00:55:49I think that's going to be a necessity because I love like going to the driving range or something
00:55:53Just playing some golf to relax cold brew as well
00:55:57Cold brew bottled cold brew. Oh, I love cold. Yeah, same
00:56:01I mean, we have a cold plunge on this tour, and we have a cold plunge. Yes. I saw a picture
00:56:05It was at you that posted it. Yeah. Yeah, so you guys bring that with you on like we do now first time with the
00:56:10Yeah, this is the first store we got a night because I love like Wim Hof
00:56:13Do you know Wim Hof the ice man? Yeah, the ice man dude?
00:56:15I love the Wim Hof breathing and I love the cold plunge
00:56:17I have a cold plunge of my my parents house. Yeah, there's a cold plunge there, and it's awesome
00:56:22No, I'm looking for one and I found out that I could get a um a horse trough
00:56:27For like 200 bucks, right and put it in the yard. It's galvanized where they drink out of it and just fill it up
00:56:34Wow, yeah, just fill it up throw my ice in and sit down there and yeah, that's awesome
00:56:37And then we can get a horse too and then like have you do two for one? Yeah
00:56:41Drink from it while you're in it. Oh, yeah, you want to grab some
00:56:45So we have a game that we play. It's not really a game
00:56:51It's it's it's it's not really a game because I don't have the whole
00:56:55Bag yeah, but this is what's it called? I called with Danny Brown was called grab my bag
00:57:00Right, and then we stuck with it. Okay, but it's not I don't have a bag we don't even have a bag today
00:57:05So we're still gonna call it grab my bag. Okay. Okay excited for this game. Wow
00:57:09It's not really a game
00:57:12It's literally just hands you something but uh
00:57:15Grab my dom. Yeah, sorry. That's dom dom. Hey dom
00:57:20It's people it's gonna be like what what do you say well you should you should start with the uh the other stuff
00:57:27Yeah, oh
00:57:31My bad
00:57:33That was all me. I think one went under the couch. Gotcha. Gotcha
00:57:36Gotcha there. Oh
00:57:39Yes, I love the color. Wow. I love some orange orange. This is so nice already. This is beautiful. Yeah, wow
00:57:47Oh, this is so nice. Oh my god
00:57:50Okay, we'll start with these. Thanks guys. Oh, yeah
00:57:54Can I say to start real quick that look this this looks like these are gifts of some kind?
00:57:58So they are yes, um, we actually today we're looking all over
00:58:03We wanted to bring you an egg shaker because we you reacted a lot to percussion moments
00:58:08Oh, yeah, you're talking about an egg shaker. We're like we got to bring him an egg shaker. We couldn't yeah, we might yeah
00:58:14Yeah
00:58:15TBD we wanted to gift you an egg shaker. Yeah, so yes
00:58:19Yeah, yeah, uh, so what we have or no you you can do okay
00:58:23You know more okay, so this is a vancouver product you guys are on tour for a while
00:58:28And um, it's aromatherapy sponsor. We're not sponsored. No, no, no
00:58:32This is something that I thought would be really cool connor and I was like you guys are on tour for a while
00:58:35It's aromatherapy. There's there's um
00:58:38Everything in there you need just to roll on if you're sick
00:58:41If you need some energy if you need digestive health or anything like that. So you take a look at those wow
00:58:46Awesome, man
00:58:49Vancouver based called sage you know way there there. I've seen this brand. Yeah. Yeah look in there. There's a little love
00:58:54Oh
00:58:55My gosh, so you open that up and you can I'm not sure where you roll them. I roll them on my genitals, but
00:59:01My wife gets mad
00:59:04You didn't roll these ones though. No, no, no
00:59:06Oh
00:59:07This is amazing. I love aromatherapy. Yeah, it's so nice. This is this is gonna go great. Yeah, so there's a little there's I think
00:59:16Yeah, yeah
00:59:16Wow, thank you the mixture of the aromatherapy and leather smells like my grandparents pantry
00:59:21Back in Ohio
00:59:24Even just this little this little case has a good smell. Yeah, it's really really good. Oh pain
00:59:29This is really gonna be very helpful
00:59:31No, and they you know what you can bring those right through Connor with your I don't travel very much. Yeah, so we talked to the people at sage
00:59:36they said that
00:59:38You don't have to put it in your liquids bag
00:59:41Because it counts as medication I believe
00:59:43So you can just keep it in your
00:59:46Amazing if you're that is so
00:59:48That's really so cool. Wow. Oh, this is awesome guys. Thank you so much
00:59:55Absolutely
00:59:57European dates too. You guys are going all over the place through Europe. So yeah, I'm gonna rub some on tonight before bed for sure
01:00:03Art bus is gonna smell so it's gonna smell amazing for once. Wow
01:00:09So these here, I know you guys are gonna be on tour for a bit
01:00:13so I thought you guys should have some type of
01:00:16Entertainment or just something to do on the bus
01:00:20So this is some reading stuff and then we'll get into this in a second. This is amazing, but funny story
01:00:27this one here the big
01:00:30one at the bottom was actually I
