00:00Haley Joe Osmond from Sixth Sense.
00:03And some other stuff.
00:04And other stuff.
00:05That's the thing that he became famous for, yeah.
00:07Kind of pulled a Mel Gibson.
00:09A little bit.
00:09Kind of pulled a Mel Gibson.
00:11Because he was pretty mouthy with arresting officers in Mammoth Lakes, California.
00:16We broke the story that he was arrested there last week after a drunken, apparently, incident on the mountain was disruptive.
00:27And so they asked him to leave.
00:31Ski patrol took him down to the bottom of the mountain.
00:32And now the cops take him into custody for public intoxication as well as substance possession.
00:40So we'll get to that in a moment.
00:42But here is the moment that gets kind of Mel Gibson-y.
00:47Because he used some language.
00:49Well, he used a Jewish slur while he was in custody in the back of the car.
00:55Oddly, he also used another word that's inconsistent with the first slur.
01:02Totally inconsistent.
01:03But here's what happened as they were taking him into custody.
01:06You're going to see the officers also finding the drugs that they believe may be cocaine.
01:11They're still testing the substance.
01:13But that's what it looks like.
01:15Police department.
01:16You're being detained.
01:18There we go.
01:19What's your name, brother?
01:23What's your name?
01:24So he went to the bar, ordered one drink, and was so intoxicated.
01:28Everyone be careful.
01:29There's something in there.
01:30Yeah, he could, uh, he spilled his drink and leave it close.
01:34And then he got cut off.
01:36Hold it in your glove.
01:38There you go.
01:39Help me.
01:41Help me.
01:41I've been kidnapped.
01:44I'm a Nazi.
01:48I was DCT.
01:51And you are.
01:57Well, there's the slur.
01:59Yeah, you're a bleeping K-word is what we would.
02:01Yeah.
02:02So, look, I want to just say this out of the gate here.
02:05I mean, this is the video that the police released.
02:08He's had a really rough time.
02:10I'm not making excuses or anything like that for using the word, but he has had a really
02:15rough time.
02:15His house burned down in Altadena.
02:17He's just, you know, having enormous problems with insurance companies.
02:22And he's saying he's really kind of at a low point.
02:25Yeah.
02:25Yeah.
02:26So we got a statement from Haley where he essentially said just that, that he was absolutely horrified
02:31by his behavior in this video.
02:33He actually would have spoken out sooner, but he was blacked out.
02:36So he didn't even remember saying those terrible things.
02:39And essentially apologizing.
02:41I mean, this was, obviously this is a snippet and it's not excusing what he said by any
02:45means of about an hour and a half of body cam where for the most part, he, I mean, you
02:50could obviously tell he was extremely intoxicated, but he was pretty chill with the cops.
02:55He actually got into that with the cops saying that, you know, he's going through a lot right
02:59now.
02:59He's essentially homeless.
03:01And yeah, I mean, regardless, all around pretty sad situation.
03:06Yeah, I mean, he did say that he said, look, I'm not asking for forgiveness, but I promise
03:11I will atone for this mistake.
03:13And he apologized to Jewish people and for the offensive language.
03:16And I know he is in a bad place.
03:19Um, I just think some people, when they hear the story, they see it, that you're in a bad
03:25place, which we all living here in LA know there are thousands of people who are going
03:30through this.
03:32The part that doesn't add up is he is still on a ski trip, right?
03:36Right.
03:37So that's the part that doesn't add up.
03:39It's like, you're so down and out, but you still went skiing.
03:43I mean, you know, I feel really bad for everybody, him included, that just not only lost everything,
03:49but I'm telling you, I have heard so many stories dealing with these insurance companies,
03:54trying to get anything is what you will, you will go insane.
03:59You will literally go insane trying to deal with these insurance companies.
04:03Well, yeah, to that point, Harvey, he actually, apparently I was told that he had a replacement
04:07house that he was going to move into.
04:10And essentially somehow it got blocked because of an insurance claim.
04:13So they were preventing him from even getting a new home.
04:15People are going crazy in this city.
04:17I know you guys want to talk, and I get it.
04:19That is an issue.
04:21I just want to get back to what was said and what was done there.
04:23I understand.
04:24And I'm not saying that we have to like cancel Haley Joel Osment because of this.
04:29I'm just thinking about the difference now that police wear body cam.
04:32And think about when Mel Gibson's arrest happened, police were not wearing body cams.
04:38That wasn't, it's just, it's such a.
04:41But we confirm that.
04:42No, no, of course.
04:43And I'm saying how much quicker the story comes out because we do have police wearing these cameras.
04:49Do you think it was any different though, Charles?
04:51I'm not like, obviously awful thing to say, but like he said the Nazi thing too.
04:56And it was like, it was basically like the guy was blacked out, making no sense at all.
04:59It was clearly blacked out because it doesn't make any sense whatsoever.
05:02And I know the whole thing too about that when you're drunk and you say things, it means that's what you really believe.
05:07And I know the whole thing.
05:08I'm Jewish and I get it.
05:10And look, it was really bad.
05:12He shouldn't have done it and everything else.
05:14All I'm saying is there is an overlay here of this just rotten world where you just don't know how to escape from it.
05:24If you're one of these fire victims, it's just.
05:27Hi, Vanessa from New Jersey.
05:30Normally I would have said, you know, what are you doing?
05:33This is career suicide, but it's pretty hard to kill career that's already dead.
05:38And, you know, I'm going to take a different view from you guys.
05:41I feel that we need to hold his feet to the fire on this.
05:44There have been a rash of celebrities that have engaged in bad acts and racist rants, and we always give them a pass.
05:50It's stress-induced racism.
05:51I don't buy it, and I think we need to really hold him accountable.
05:54So we're going to take somebody who used a terrible word and just eliminate them.
05:59But Harvey, her point is.
06:01I mean, but that's kind of what you're saying.
06:02Not eliminate him, but hold him accountable.
06:05And again, I mean, his career is already in the hole.
06:08I don't think there's much further to fall, so.
06:10Right.
06:10Your point is he can redeem himself, but don't just say you're going to.
06:14Let's see the actions.
06:15Yeah.
06:16Which, there's nothing wrong with that.
06:18It's like, at a point, he's got other things to do.
06:22He's got bigger fish to fry right now to get out of this mess in this city.
06:28I'm telling you, it is just.
06:29And again, I'm Jewish, so I just, I got skin in the game.
06:34I think her point is.
06:35Or foreskin in the game.
06:39Or lack thereof.
