Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, President Trump was asked what he would need to see from both Russia and Ukraine to continue negotiations.
Transcript
00:00Mr. President, what do you need to see from both sides in order to keep negotiations going?
00:06What do you want to see from Russia and Ukraine?
00:09I have to see. My whole life has been one big negotiation, and I know when people are playing us,
00:14and I know when they're not, and I have to see an enthusiasm to want to end it.
00:19And I think I see that enthusiasm. I think I see it from both sides.
00:24Do you think Russia's playing?
00:25But you're going to know soon.
00:26Do you think Russia's playing?
00:28No, don't explain me. I'm trying to help.
00:32You know, this was Biden's war. By the way, by me getting involved, you know, they'll say,
00:36oh, it's Trump. This is not Trump's war. This is Biden's war. This is a war that should have never happened.
00:41Okay? Think of it.
00:43Those cities are crushed and crashed, and all those beautiful steeples, the most beautiful in the world,
00:48actually considered the most beautiful in the world, most of them are now smashed to smithereens,
00:54as they say, lying on the ground in a million pieces. Those towns are crushed, the whole place.
00:59It's so horrible. And millions of people are dead, far more than you think. That's one thing you're
01:06going to get out of this war. You're going to find out that your estimates are far lower than,
01:10it's far worse than people think. Nobody's playing anybody. We are going to see if we can get it done.
01:16I think we have a really good chance of getting it done. And it's coming to a head right now.
01:20If you do decide to move on or take a pass, Mr. President, would you then continue to support
01:30Ukraine? Well, I'm not going to say that because I think we're going to get it done.
