Food Editor Taylor Ann Spencer shows us how to properly store eggs
Transcript
00:00The best way to store your eggs is upside down.
00:02Did you ever notice that little air pocket that's at the bottom of the eggs?
00:06That's called the air cell, and it is super important for maintaining the freshness and quality of your egg.
00:13If you store the eggs with the air pocket at the bottom, the weight of the egg smashes down on that air pocket,
00:21which destroys its integrity over time.
00:24When you store the egg flipped over, the air cell is at the top,
00:29so it will maintain its integrity and keep the egg fresh.
00:33Once you flip them all over, you can put them back within their original packaging,
00:37put them on an interior shelf in the fridge, and you should be good to go.
