00:00Excuse me ladies. Can I get your credit card number? Okay, thanks. Excuse me. Can I get your credit card number?
00:06Can I get you a credit card number? What? Oh, well, I want to send you some money. Okay, can I get your credit card number?
00:13No, why not?
00:15Okay, can I just see your credit card number, please?
00:19Credit card number? No.
00:21Now if you think that only a crazy person would hand out their personal information their credit card number or their
00:28Logging into their bank account to a random stranger on the street
00:32Well, people do exactly that. I mean, they don't give it to someone on the street
00:37But they do it on the internet and a lot of people do it. We're the honest guides based in Prague, Czech Republic
00:45And when people try to sell something here on the internet, this is the most common scam that attacks
00:52Exactly them. Let me show you what I'm talking about
00:55Yesterday morning, I created a listing for some old speakers that I wanted to sell on Facebook marketplace
01:02And some other websites here in the country
01:04Instantly, I was getting replies from people which I was pleasantly surprised by
01:10But what do you know? All of them were scammers
01:14But we'll get to that
01:15Now all the people were asking me if the speakers are still available
01:19And I replied, yes, they're sitting in my room and they're still for sale
01:23Now this is the reply I got
01:26Perfect. Can you deliver through DPD? I live in this small town and I will pay for postage
01:32And I will also give you money up front on your bank account. Is that all right?
01:37If you don't know how this works, I can send you a screenshot of how to do it or I can just send you a link
01:43Now this sounds really easy and promising, right?
01:46I mean somebody's gonna come to my house a delivery boy. I'll give him the speakers
01:49He'll give me the money. This sounds really simple. Let's head out to the link they sent me
01:54The links they send out really leads to officially looking websites
01:58By the way, they not only do it with DPD, but also FedEx and many other local shipping services
02:04Further on the website will eventually ask you for your card number or for login information
02:10To your bank account. Now at this point, you should get a huge red exclamation mark above your head
02:18Why the hell if somebody wants to send me money, should I give him my credit card information
02:23Or my bank account login? No, I wouldn't do that. That is not logical in any way
02:30Now even though it looks like you're on your bank's official website, you're not
02:35Always check the URL bar of your browser. Does this look like a legit address of a bank?
02:42I don't think so. Now unfortunately, there are people that will hand out their information
02:47I mean, that's why we're doing this video
02:48And if you're watching this thinking that would never happen to me
02:52I'm like I've been on the internet
02:53This can only happen to someone who just opened the internet for the first time in their life
02:58No, this happens to everyone doesn't matter the age the education or the sex
03:04It happens globally in all the countries
03:07I mean just yesterday we asked our viewers and they shared these stories with us
03:12I posted a listing to sell something and within a month
03:15I got an email asking me to fill out some information
03:19They wanted my name and my credit card number to send me money
03:23Which is what I did
03:24Later on I got some notifications from my bank to approve some payments and I did that
03:31I didn't lost much money, but looking at it back
03:34I can't believe I was that stupid
03:37And another person describes exactly the same situation saying he lost 385 euros
03:43Which was all the money he had in his bank account
03:46Meaning if he had more he would lose more
03:49Our viewers asked us not to share their names which we wouldn't do anyhow
03:54But one of them said look I don't want to be ashamed in front of my friends and colleagues
03:59And I don't think you should be ashamed
04:01You're a victim of a crime and you shouldn't feel bad about it
04:05The criminals should feel bad about it
04:08And we'll make them feel bad I promise
04:10Wait till the end of the video
04:12Now in this video we mostly focus on the listings scam
04:15But there's many different varieties of how people try to get your information
04:21Not only they send out texts
04:22Sometimes they will even call you
04:24And on your phone the caller ID may even show as if your bank is actually calling you
04:31Sometimes they will even impersonate the police
04:34Telling you that your credit card information was stolen
04:38And that you have to give them your credit card information
04:41So they can block it
04:42Once again never ever do that
04:44It doesn't make any sense
04:45Your bank doesn't need your credit card information to block it
04:49They will put you under pressure to act fast
04:52Because otherwise you can lose money
04:54Don't let them do that
04:55If you act fast you may lose money
04:59Not only they have sophisticated systems they use
05:02But they also follow the current trends
05:05Now if there's a talk in the media
05:07About the government giving some allowance for housing
05:10They will follow that
05:11Just today my very good friend actually showed me a message
05:15That said it was from the government
05:17And that he should follow the link in the message to get his allowance
05:21Now if you look closely at the website address
05:24You can spot that it is not legit
05:28Now let's go back to the listing scam
05:30As I said it's very popular
05:32And actually I asked our viewers in our country on our Instagram
05:36If they've ever faced this one
05:38And I told them to send screenshots
05:40If they have any to our email address
05:42And within a couple minutes I was in a complete shock
05:46Our viewers filled our mailbox with screenshots
05:49And most of them were identical
05:51Hundreds and hundreds of messages
05:54Luckily most of them figured out that it was a scam
05:57And they simply told the scammers to bugger off
06:01Now I'm super happy that our viewers sent it to our mailbox
06:04But I think that we can fight these tricks and scams
06:07By not only sending it to an email address
06:09But also posting it on our social media
06:12With a tiny note
06:13This is a scam
06:15Do not fall for it
06:16Because if all the people will know what scams look like
06:20They will simply avoid them
06:22And if you did receive a scam message
06:25And you fell for the scam
06:27Don't feel ashamed
06:29Simply contact your bank
06:30Contact the police
06:31They're here to help you
06:33And you are the victim
06:36Now you know that the two of us love to catch scammers
06:39Ideally literally to catch them and grab them
06:42It's hard to do this with the scammers online
06:45Because they're usually hiding in a different country
06:47In some dark room
06:48And you can't get our hands on them
06:51But I was actually lucky
06:52To have a pretty serious conversation
06:55With one of the scammers
06:56And here is what he told me
06:58The scammer first started to tell me
07:01How much money he earns every day
07:03Now when I didn't believe him
07:05He actually sent me screenshots from telegram groups
07:08Where these scammers work together
07:10821 euros
07:11Commission or cut for the scammer
07:14492 euros
07:16322 euros
07:18536 euros
07:206,370 euros
07:2340,000 euros
07:26Cut for the scammer
07:2820,000 euros
07:31Now if you think
07:32And I thought that
07:33That the scammer is just making these numbers up
07:35To look cool that he scammed people for that much money
07:39Unfortunately when we talk to the banks
07:41Here in our country and to the police
07:42They actually confirmed that
07:44The average amount that people get scammed for online
07:48Is around 6,600 euros
07:51Now obviously I was super curious
07:54To get more information from this guy
07:56Therefore I asked him
07:57If I can join this telegram group
07:59And get all this information
08:02And he asked me if I'm from the Czech Republic
08:06Which I replied to honestly
08:07And I said yes I am
08:10Then it would cost you your freedom
08:12Even if you can manage to make some money
08:14The police will find you
08:16You can't live in a country that you scam
08:20You sneaky little bastard
08:21You don't shit where you eat
08:23I know
08:24Since he wouldn't let me in the group
08:25I kept asking how their work works
08:28And if they're more organized
08:30What's the team?
08:32Around 700 people work here
08:34Some work in Poland
08:35Some in Hungary
08:36England
08:36Germany
08:37Bulgaria
08:37And many other countries
08:40The daily income of our team
08:42Is around 220,000 euros
08:45Now the scammer confirmed
08:47That he usually works on the websites
08:49Where people try to sell something
08:50Like Facebook Marketplace
08:52Or in Poland it's OLX
08:54And also Vinted
08:55Very now popular in Europe
08:57How long do you think you can do this?
08:59What do you mean?
09:00People are more and more careful
09:02How long do you want to do this?
09:05As long as there's internet
09:06Everything will work
09:08The scammers are always five steps ahead
09:12That's why we call our victims the mammoth
09:15If you don't scam you don't live
09:17It's hard to translate
09:19But in our countries that is what we say
09:21Have you ever yourself been a mammoth?
09:24No
09:24It seems to me that it's a matter of mentality
09:27In Ukraine, in Russia, every day
09:30You expect a trick from someone
09:32You don't trust almost anyone
09:35And in Europe, people are too trusting
09:38You just need to push a little
09:40And that's it
09:41Mammoths become cuddly
09:44After this, I asked the guy one last question
09:48Isn't it better to live in a society
09:50Where people trust each other?
09:52And he just left the chat
09:56Now these people, these scammers
09:58Come from societies where it may be normal
10:00Not to trust anyone
10:02But I don't want to live in that
10:03I just want people to be cautious
10:05And be careful when they hand out
10:07Their personal information
10:09That leads to their account
10:11And to their money
10:12Look, I may be a mammoth
10:14But that guy is just a rad
10:16Hiding out in some dark room
10:18Where he's typing on his little keyboard
10:20Trying to scam people in our countries
10:22And guess what?
10:23It's not gonna work out
10:24You're not five steps ahead
10:26We're six steps ahead
10:28I mean, you didn't know
10:29You're gonna be a star of a YouTube video, did you?
10:32The online scams are changing every day
10:35If you thought up till now
10:37That the scams in the emails
10:39Are the only thing that can hit you
10:40Like the
10:41You inherited seven million dollars
10:43From a Nigerian prince
10:45Written in a very broken English
10:47No, these people are steps, steps ahead
10:51So please be cautious
10:53You know that our specialty
10:55Is to catch scammers on the street in our city
10:57But since this scam in our country and in Europe
11:01Is now so widespread
11:02We have to address it
11:04And we're not the only YouTubers that do it
11:06I mean, there's Scammers Payback that does it perfectly
11:09Pleasant Green and many, many others
11:12In a way, and we've been at the beginning of this
11:14It is kind of a trend for people to catch scammers
11:18So I hope the trend will only be on the uprise
11:21And once maybe we will get rid of scammers in our societies
11:25Oh, I'm being so naive
11:27People will kill me in the comments
11:30That was a message from us
11:31Where the honest guides
11:32Homza and Janek here from the Czech Republic
11:34If you want to see more scammers on the streets of Prague
11:37Or if you're planning to come to Prague
11:39And want some tips
11:40Our channel is full of that
11:41Thank you so much for watching
11:43Now as always in our videos
11:45I teach a Czech word at the end
11:47This time it's going to be a very easy one
11:49How to say a mammoth
11:51In Czech it's MAMUT
11:53MAMUT is mammoth
11:54But also I'm going to teach you how to say a rat
11:56Which the scammer is
11:58And rat is CRYSA
12:00CRYSA is a rat
12:03And CRYSA will always lose to MAMUT
12:07Do you, uh, hi how's it going man
12:10Can I see, can I see your credit card number?
12:12Oh, I don't have a credit card actually
12:15Okay, well can I get your password for your bank account?
12:19Actually I don't have an account here
12:21Would you give it to me though?
12:22Yeah
12:23No man!
12:25You should never give me your bank account
12:27Never ever, even if you know me
12:29But I know you
12:30Yeah, but you still shouldn't do that
