00:00On September 9th, 2016, following a 911 call that abruptly cut off just as a woman was
00:06screaming for help, two deputies from Royce City, Texas head to a rural road where they
00:11find a hysterical woman desperately trying to get aid.
00:14The following report is based on official police records, and some of the footage has
00:18never been seen before until now.
00:24What's going on?
00:25My husband, he went to go help me.
00:27My chief is stuck in the head, around the corner, and he's been shot in the head, please.
00:34He's around the corner.
00:36Come here, come here, come here.
00:38The guy took me, I don't have it, he's on my phone, I don't have anything.
00:42Come here, have a seat, have a seat, have a seat.
00:45Stay here, stay here.
00:47Please, please.
00:50No, please, go around, he's there further, please, go.
00:54Are you anxious?
00:55No, please.
00:57Please, please, please, go, please, go, please, go, please, go, please, go, please, go, please.
01:03She said he's down here, shot in the head.
01:06Please, go, please, go, please, go, please, go, please, go, please, go, you said, our jeep
01:11is stuck down there.
01:14Please, go, please.
01:15The deputy rushes to investigate the situation, updating his partner as he makes his way down
01:21the road.
01:21The woman, on the other hand, is left secured in the vehicle.
01:25Please tell me something.
01:27Please.
01:28Come on.
01:30Come on.
01:31Come on, bring him up here.
01:33Please, bring him up here.
01:34Please, bring him up here.
01:35Soon, more officials begin to arrive, including an ambulance.
01:39Please, go back there, please, go back there.
01:40Please, please, please, please, please, go get him.
01:42Please, go get him, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, no, is he okay?
01:55I, I, I just, I have blood on my hands.
01:58I have blood on my hands and I ran.
02:00That's all I did.
02:00I don't have my phone.
02:01I don't have anything.
02:03Please let him be okay.
02:05I can't, I can't do this on my own.
02:09As the woman continues to panic in the back of the police vehicle, the deputy fills the
02:14arriving officials in on the situation.
02:17How dare?
02:17He's sitting in a pillow row in a real nice cheap vehicle running, head double.
02:23Okay.
02:25Looks like he's got a lot of shotgun up at the side of his head.
02:30I'm close contact with him, look at me, no guard.
02:33There's no gun.
02:35Yes, sir.
02:36Yes.
02:37I don't know if you guys want to look at it.
02:39I don't know if you've seen her yet.
02:41Well, I'm, I'm going to want to talk to her, so.
02:43The ambulance is brought back up the road, notably without the woman's husband inside.
02:48Where are they going?
02:50Where, where are they going?
02:52Where, where are they going?
02:55She's then brought to the ambulance to be checked out and is soon joined by Officer Meek,
02:59who will begin the arduous process of detangling the complicated story of what actually happened
03:04on that dark, rural road.
03:06So your lungs are clear up there.
03:08It's not asthma, okay?
03:09Hello.
03:10You're 100% over here on the monitor.
03:12You're looking for that.
03:13You want a little bit of oxygen to help you out?
03:17I want to, I want to take some, take some, take some, take some.
03:22Well, I got to get some information from you real quick, okay?
03:25Listen to me real quick.
03:26Let these guys do what they need to do, but you listen to me, all right?
03:28Just one second.
03:29What I need you to do is in through your nose, out through your mouth, slow your breathing
03:32down, concentrate on that.
03:34So when you listen to him, when he's talking to you, the whole time, I want you to think
03:39slow in through the nose, out through the mouth.
03:41I'm going to give you a little oxygen.
03:42Calm yourself down.
03:43It's going to, uh.
03:45I know.
03:45After some deep breaths, the woman reveals that her name is Chasey Poynter.
03:50After being read her Miranda rights, she agrees to speak.
03:53Tell us what, what, what happened?
03:56I was driving from, from Quinlan.
03:59Just from Quinlan.
04:00What were you driving?
04:01My Jeep.
04:02Okay.
04:03And my, I was getting, was getting me, my husband at the box.
04:08And when he texted me, he, I told him, I was three miles away.
04:12Yeah, slow down.
04:16Slow down.
04:18When he texted me, I came around the car and I went off the road.
04:22And I called him to let him know what happened.
04:25When I was on the phone with him, he said, I don't think I can make it down the road.
04:29So we walked, we walked up here and we walked back, back to my Jeep.
04:34So the gray truck right here, who's that?
04:36That's his truck.
04:37That's his truck.
04:38He came out here to help me.
04:39And he, he backed the Jeep up and I was sitting right at the back, the back of it.
04:45And, and I went to go get, and I, I just, I heard, I heard a shot.
04:51And the Jeep started rolling and I didn't see anything.
04:54And I saw, I saw a shadow.
04:55That's all I saw.
04:56And when I walked up to him, I yelled his name and I just felt something on me.
05:01I ran.
05:02I didn't know what else to do.
05:03And I dropped my phone.
05:04There's a big, there's a big, there's a, I don't, I don't know where my phone is.
05:09Okay.
05:10That's all right.
05:11Calm down.
05:13Breathe slow.
05:14I'm sure.
05:17So was anyone else out there with you?
05:19No, I was out there by myself.
05:20I didn't tell him.
05:21No.
05:22Was it your husband?
05:23What's his name?
05:24Robert.
05:25Robert Pointer.
05:26Robert Pointer?
05:26Yeah.
05:27He's a firefighter.
05:28I didn't mean to come down this road.
05:30I was good on the other road.
05:32Uh-huh.
05:33And I missed it.
05:35So I came, I just took the next thing and I was looking at my map.
05:38It's the only thing.
05:44You were looking at the map and what?
05:50You were looking at the map and what?
05:54That's my husband's what?
05:55Just, just breathe for me, okay?
05:56That's my husband's what?
05:58Just, just breathe for me.
06:00That's my husband's what?
06:01Do you have the mud on you because y'all were trying to get the jeep unstuck?
06:04No, I fell when I was running up here.
06:06Okay.
06:07While the EMTs check out Chasey, Officer Meek takes a few photos for evidence.
06:12During this process, she realizes something else is amiss.
06:16Hold your hands together just like that palm straight now.
06:18There you go.
06:20My, my, my wedding ring is gone.
06:23Okay, hold on just a second.
06:24Chasey's rambling story will eventually become clearer, but it will also change frequently,
06:31leaving investigators with a complicated task of working out the truth.
06:35After being cleared by paramedics, Chasey exits the ambulance and is escorted back to the police vehicle.
06:40Chasey claims that after she heard a shot and saw her husband slumped over in the driver's seat of her jeep, she ran and tripped, falling in a mud puddle.
06:58She believes this is where her wedding ring, shoes, and phone were.
07:02It's also why she abruptly hung up when calling 911.
07:06She claims that she couldn't find the phone after she fell.
07:09Chasey then gives the investigator some background information about her marriage to Robert, who is 18 years her senior.
07:16We, we, we've been, we've been having problems, and he's, he's contacted an attorney to get a divorce, and I was, I was okay with that.
07:30We've been married six years, almost seven years, and I, he, he said that he wasn't going to throw my stuff out anymore.
07:41He just wanted me to come home, and I told him that was fine.
07:43He said he didn't want to get divorced, and I told him I didn't want any two either.
07:48I love him.
07:49He's a pain in the ass, but I love him.
07:51The officer asks where she'd been coming from before her jeep got stuck in the ditch, and she called Robert to help her move it.
07:58Chasey says she'd been at a friend's house, but there's more to this story than she admits at first.
08:03Whose house was that?
08:05Michael Garcia.
08:06Garza.
08:06Michael Garza.
08:07Michael Garza?
08:08Yeah.
08:08Okay.
08:09How long you known him?
08:11For, for, I don't know.
08:13I don't know, four, four or five months.
08:15Four or five months?
08:16Yeah.
08:16Is he like a boyfriend or just friend, or?
08:19He was letting me, he told me that I could take his house, because he, he's not ever there, and I.
08:26How old is he?
08:27How old's Michael Garza?
08:29I don't, he's in his thirties.
08:31In his thirties?
08:31Yeah.
08:32I, uh, I don't know a whole lot about him.
08:34This claim about Michael Garza is just the tip of the iceberg, as investigators will soon realize.
08:40As the crime scene is locked down, Chasey is transported to the police station to give her statement about the horrific events of the night.
08:48Okay?
08:48Yeah, my fear.
08:50I hurt to be a bear sight.
08:56Let me get this door.
09:05There you go.
09:07Perfect.
09:07Check.
09:08Just after 2 a.m., Chasey is brought into an interrogation room, and it's here that the real work of uncovering the twisted truth begins.
09:16I don't see what I hear in this great chair form.
09:27I understand that, uh, Officer Meek read you the Miranda rights and everything out there in the field.
09:33Is that correct?
09:33Yeah.
09:34Okay.
09:34And, I've never, I've never, I've never been in a situation before, so I don't know if it's necessary to get in a train or not.
09:43Okay.
09:44Well, you're not under arrest.
09:45Okay.
09:45Okay.
09:46Uh, you're not free to leave because we're still trying to figure out what all happened.
09:50Right.
09:50But you're not under arrest.
09:51Okay.
09:52Chasey is left alone for a few minutes, and she seems to finally take a look at the mud and blood covering her arms.
09:58When the detective returns, Chasey begins to tell him about the problem she was having with Robert.
10:03She claims it first came to a head about two and a half years ago.
10:07What did those issues kind of consist of?
10:09Um, he became, um, he became real, uh, violent towards me.
10:13Okay.
10:13There was a couple of times that he, um, he, um, he broke one of my fellows in half.
10:19Um, he would go through the phone bill and just call a bunch of numbers.
10:23I have a business on the side where I make cakes and he would call everybody that was on the phone bill to see who they were.
10:31As it turns out, Robert had actually filed for divorce previously, two and a half years ago.
10:36The couple decided to split up, and Chasey moved out of the house to live with her mom.
10:41The problem was, the divorce paper stipulated that she couldn't take her daughter with her.
10:46This was one of the reasons the couple decided to reconcile, because Chasey didn't want to leave her daughter.
10:52According to Chasey, after getting back together, their relationship had been fine until recently, when Robert filed for divorce again.
10:59The couple's six-year-old daughter had actually come up earlier that night when Chasey was talking to Officer Meek in the back of the police vehicle.
11:06The last couple days, we've been fighting.
11:08Okay.
11:09What do y'all fight over?
11:10Anything.
11:11Anything.
11:12He could be my daughter.
11:13He's trying to take my daughter away from me, and he keeps telling me he knows the loopholes.
11:17She's the only kid I could ever have.
11:20She's everything you mean.
11:21Right.
11:22My daughter's my wife.
11:24Why would your husband be trying to take your daughter from you, though?
11:26Like, what reason did he give you?
11:27He knows that that's what's going to hurt me the most, and he knows that's what's going to make me sick.
11:31Despite claiming that her daughter was her world, Chasey had no idea where her daughter was when she made that statement.
11:38She'd left her with some of Michael Garza's friends, who were currently trying to find her in order to return her daughter.
11:44Earlier that evening, the friends had actually driven to Chasey and Robert's house, but found it empty.
11:49As they were returning home, they saw the commotion of emergency lights around the crime scene and decided to stop and speak to police.
11:58Chasey's daughter is in the back of their vehicle as they discuss Michael Garza and Chasey with Officer Meek.
12:03Yeah, they were supposed to be going on a date.
12:05I was watching the daughter.
12:06Is that why you kept her?
12:07Yeah, that's why I have her.
12:08Okay.
12:08And she was like, because she tried to get me to drop her off at somebody's house down the street, and I was like, I'm not doing that.
12:14No, that's good.
12:14You did good.
12:15Police soon contacted Chasey's mom and stepdad to come and pick up their granddaughter.
12:19Hello.
12:20Jay Harper.
12:21Officer Meek, we got your granddaughter up here in the suburban here.
12:27This was the babysitter.
12:29Hey, let's step up here out of the road.
12:30All right.
12:31Here's the, they were babysitting your granddaughter today.
12:34Okay.
12:34Because your daughter, your daughter had them babysit their daughter so she could go spend the evening with a boyfriend.
12:44And that's what we got right now.
12:47But, so, your granddaughter's fine.
12:49We just need somebody to take custody of the granddaughter because your daughter's actually being detained right now for our investigation.
12:56I can't tell you anything else about the investigation.
12:59All I can tell you is she is being detained at this time.
13:00Can you tell us if she's physically okay?
13:02Yes, sir.
13:03Yep.
13:03Has there been an accident?
13:05No, I can't tell you anything else.
13:06All I can tell you is she is, she's perfectly fine breathing and everything, talking to us and everything, but she's being detained at this time for our investigation.
13:15It's her spouse, Robert.
13:16I can't give you any other information about her.
13:20That's kind of uncomfortable, officer.
13:22I understand that.
13:23Desperate for answers, they begin quizzing Michael's friends about the situation.
13:27I don't know anything about what's going on except I was asking about her on the daughter's daughter of the honeydews.
13:33What's my daughter's son?
13:35Like, like you daughter's son?
13:37I don't know who my daughter's son.
13:40What do we do from here?
13:41Just go home and then whenever everything's figured out, then we'll make phone calls or she'll be able to make phone calls or whatever else here in a few minutes.
13:49But right now, it's an active investigation, so I can't tell you anything else.
13:53Chasey's mom and stepdad will eventually speak to her, but for now, they take her six-year-old daughter home with them.
14:00Back in her interrogation, Chasey explains that because there were problems in her relationship with Robert again, she'd started talking to Michael Garza, who she met on Facebook.
14:09This is only a partial truth.
14:11I met Michael Garcia through Facebook.
14:14Michael Garcia?
14:15Garza, sorry.
14:16Okay.
14:16I don't know why I would say that.
14:18We were just friends.
14:21That's it.
14:21But Robert, Robert knows that I was seeing somebody he doesn't know who.
14:27While she's now claiming that her and Michael Garza were mostly just friends, she said something very different about them hanging out earlier this evening while she was at the crime scene.
14:36Did y'all, like, have a date?
14:39Was it date night?
14:40No.
14:40We, we just hung out.
14:42We, we had sex, obviously.
14:44Okay.
14:45Well, not obviously.
14:46I'm, I'm asking.
14:47I need you to tell me, okay?
14:48Yes.
14:48So y'all had sex.
14:50Yes.
14:50And how long were you over there?
14:53Two hours.
14:53Two hours.
14:54Have y'all ever had sex prior to this?
14:56Yes.
14:57What's before?
14:57Where at?
14:58Um, in his truck.
15:00In his truck?
15:00Yes.
15:01And so now y'all had relations, sexual relations, twice, tonight being the second time, right?
15:06Yes.
15:06Yes.
15:06And your husband wasn't aware of any of this?
15:09Okay.
15:09In interrogation, Chasey shares an anecdote about what sparked one of her and Robert's
15:14recent fights.
15:15And he kept asking me, um, who came to the house?
15:19And I kept telling him I didn't know who came to the house.
15:22I, um, I received a text message probably about two weeks ago from the number, um, and I didn't
15:29know who it was and I told Robert about it.
15:33I sent my screenshots and so it kind of sparked a little argument and he kept telling me that
15:40if I didn't tell him who it was, that he was going to kick me out.
15:44While Chasey doesn't reveal the significance of this seemingly offhand story, it will later
15:50become crucial to understanding what was really going on.
15:53He's had a past, um, he has hit me over the years, not like, like constantly, but there's
16:03been occasions whether he gets mad at his ex-wife and I get it taken out on me, but I
16:09never, I never pressed charges because I didn't want him to lose his job.
16:13Okay.
16:14And his job is really important to him.
16:16Though Chasey mentions Robert's ex-wife, Amy, she doesn't go into detail about the turbulence
16:21between the two of them.
16:22Robert and Amy had been married for 20 years, but divorced when she discovered he was cheating
16:27on her with Chasey.
16:29Back in her interrogation, Chasey explains that she and Robert had been fighting for
16:33a few days, including the night before Robert was shot.
16:37I got home and Robert just kept calling me names.
16:40Okay.
16:40Um, he kept telling me that I was a bitch and, um, he just felt like I was a bitch and
16:49all these other things.
16:50And I, I told him, I said, I'm, you're being a bitch right now.
16:53I said, I'm not going to sit here and listen to it.
16:55I said, I'm just going to go.
16:57I said, I don't care if I have to go get a hotel room or if I have to go to my mom's.
17:00I said, but I'm not going to listen to it.
17:01And he, I started putting my scrubs in my bag and he told me that if I left, not to
17:06come back.
17:07Despite this, Chasey had returned to the house later that night.
17:10And by Friday morning, the day Robert was shot, their turbulent relationship took another
17:15turn just as she was leaving for work.
17:17But as I was walking out, he said, I hope you know that I still love you and I still want
17:22you here.
17:23So I asked him if we could talk today.
17:25While Chasey says that she and Robert had planned to talk about how they would stay
17:29together, she told other people something quite different.
17:33Michael's friends who'd been taking care of Chasey's daughter the night Robert was shot
17:36later spoke with police and what they shared opposed Chasey's claim.
17:41And she told him that she was going to go meet up with her husband because he finally
17:46said that he would sign divorce papers.
17:48While Chasey fully admits to spending time with Michael Garza before meeting up with her
17:52husband.
17:53When asked about who she was texting and calling while at Michael's house, she leaves
17:57out crucial details about a third man, one which complicates this story even further.
18:03So you never, you never spoke to anybody, you never called anybody, you never texted anybody
18:06I was texting my friend Brad.
18:09He asked how it was going and, or he, I think I said, oh, it's going.
18:16And what is your relationship with Brad?
18:18We're just friends.
18:19Okay.
18:19And how long have you known Brad?
18:20Um, probably since I was 17.
18:25No, I was younger than that.
18:26Okay.
18:27He was a friend of my dad's.
18:28Okay.
18:29Have you ever been intimate with Brad?
18:31Okay.
18:31So you've never had sex with Brad in any way?
18:33Okay.
18:34Brad eventually came in to speak with police and what he revealed flipped everything
18:38Chasey just claimed on its head.
18:41The two had started talking on Facebook around May, 2016, about five months earlier.
18:46This means that her relationship with Brad overlapped with the one she had with Michael.
18:51Unlike what she told Michael though, Chasey had claimed to Brad that she'd been divorced
18:55since 2014.
18:56I was with Chasey, um, at least six days a week, probably seven.
19:03Now, when you say with Chasey, was it just a hangout or was that for sex or?
19:08Well, it was, uh, uh, a lot of it was for sex.
19:11It's clear that Chasey is leaving out a lot about her relationship with Brad, begging the
19:16question, what else is she not being honest about?
19:20Brad will eventually reveal even more of Chasey's secrets, including a twisted plan for the night
19:25Robert was shot.
19:27He's also not the only person to come forward about her illicit love life.
19:31For now though, the detective speaking with Chasey asks her to go over Robert's shooting
19:35again.
19:36She repeats the same story she already told officers at the scene.
19:40This detective, however, isn't buying it.
19:44I'm having a hard time with the fact that somebody with you being five feet away would
19:50shoot your husband and then just not even would let you into the vehicle, not mess with
19:57you at all.
19:57No, look, that's what I'm telling you.
19:59When I was, when I was trying to get away, there was someone standing right there and they
20:02were coming up to me, but I just kept on running.
20:06Okay.
20:07How close were they standing to the vehicle?
20:09I don't know when I'm...
20:12Okay.
20:12You're, you're, you're, you're saying that there's somebody there and obviously they're
20:16close enough to shoot your husband.
20:17I didn't see anybody standing there.
20:20Earlier though, when talking to officer Meek, Chasey had claimed that she actually did see
20:24someone.
20:25There was a man.
20:26There was a man.
20:27There was a man?
20:28Yes.
20:29Yes.
20:29Did you see what the man was wearing?
20:31No, he's, he's dark.
20:33No.
20:33My, my headlights were shining.
20:35It was, he was wearing dark clothes.
20:38He wasn't, he wasn't your, he wasn't as tall as you.
20:41I know, just...
20:41Here, here's, here's the problem with this, okay?
20:44From what you're saying, the blood splatter on your arm, uh, the, the description that you're
20:49giving, it doesn't add up.
20:50I didn't shoot my husband.
20:52I'm not saying you did.
20:53I'm just saying that you might be more involved in what you're letting off.
20:57I, I don't know how...
20:58You keep talking about how you, you, you want to protect your daughter, you'll be with your
21:01daughter.
21:02Playing this role is not going to help you.
21:04I, I'm not playing any role, that's the thing.
21:06Look, your, your story does not add up with the evidence that's there.
21:10Okay, but I feel like I'm being backed in the corner and I haven't done anything.
21:12I'm not saying you have.
21:13I'm just saying your story doesn't add up.
21:16There needs to be more information and you're not providing it.
21:18I, I don't know what it's...
21:19The streak, the streak right there in your arm is a blood splatter, okay?
21:22You see how it splatters up your arm?
21:24Yes.
21:24That's not, that is not from...
21:26I was not, I was not next to him.
21:28I was not next to him.
21:29When I touched him, I had blood running down my arm and then I fell into a mud puddle.
21:34That's obvious.
21:35I'm not denying that.
21:36We found your phone in the water.
21:38We, I believe that that, that happened.
21:40I don't know what I...
21:41I'm not denying that.
21:42Here's my thing.
21:43You're saying that somebody just randomly killed your husband out in the middle of the field,
21:47okay, who then allows you to just get into this vehicle, stop the vehicle, touch your
21:53husband, allow you to run past this guy and never bother you.
21:59I don't, I don't buy it.
22:00I don't buy it.
22:01It seems that investigators had their suspicions about Chasey from the first moment they saw
22:06Robert's body, as the responding deputy's dash cam audio reveals.
22:11That's why I secured her.
22:12I got my doors locked and everything.
22:14Somebody can get her out.
22:15Chasey also didn't help diminish any suspicion when Officer Meek came to speak with her while
22:20she was sitting in the back of a police vehicle at the crime scene.
22:24Hey, Ms. Pointer.
22:25I got some forms here.
22:27I'd like you to read and fill out, if you will, okay?
22:30Basically, what they are is they're just consent to searches.
22:32So basically saying that we're allowed to look at your phone and look in your purse and
22:35look at your residence and that kind of stuff, okay?
22:39Okay.
22:39All right?
22:40Do I need an attorney or anything?
22:43I mean, am I in trouble?
22:44I've read you your rights and you understood your rights, correct?
22:47Yeah.
22:48Okay.
22:48If you would like to speak to an attorney, that's totally up to you.
22:51Okay.
22:52I don't know.
22:54I've never...
22:55I've never...
22:55I don't know.
22:58It's fine.
22:58Listen to me.
22:59Would you like me to read you your rights again?
23:00No.
23:00I heard you first.
23:01Okay.
23:02I don't know.
23:03I've never been in trouble before.
23:05No.
23:05And I'm not saying you're in trouble.
23:07I know.
23:08Make no mistake.
23:09I don't know.
23:09We're doing an investigation right now because we're trying to find out what happened.
23:12That's all we're doing, okay?
23:13That's fine.
23:14So you tell me.
23:15Are you willing to fill my paperwork out or no?
23:18Yes or no?
23:18It's up to you.
23:19That's fine.
23:20I don't...
23:20I don't know.
23:21I don't know if...
23:22I don't know if it's...
23:24I'm fine with it.
23:25Okay.
23:25I don't have anything to hide.
23:26Okay.
23:26After a bit more hesitation, Chasey signed the consent form.
23:30However, despite her claim, she had a lot to hide, though she denied it while in interrogation.
23:35I don't know what else you want to tell you.
23:37I'm telling you the truth.
23:38I don't know who pulled the trigger.
23:41See, I think you do, and that's the problem.
23:43No, I don't.
23:46I don't know what else you want me to tell you.
23:48I want you to tell me the truth.
23:49I'm telling you the truth.
23:50I don't know who pulled the trigger.
23:52I don't know anything.
23:54Look, the way your husband was killed, somebody was right next to him.
23:57I wasn't right next to him.
23:59You were within five feet of where he died.
24:01I wasn't right next to him.
24:02Your own admission of where you were standing, you were within five feet of this man being
24:07murdered, and you're saying you didn't see anything, you didn't see anybody standing there.
24:11No.
24:12I don't buy it.
24:13I think you're full of crap.
24:14I want you to tell me the truth.
24:16I want you to tell me who pulled the trigger.
24:17I don't know.
24:17I wouldn't believe you if you said you didn't pull the trigger.
24:19I didn't.
24:20I would, but I want to know who did, and I do not believe you that you do not know.
24:24I don't know.
24:25I don't know.
24:25I think you're full of crap.
24:27I don't know who pulled the trigger.
24:29I really don't know.
24:30I don't know.
24:33I don't.
24:34I did not kill my husband.
24:36I don't know who killed my husband.
24:38I don't know.
24:39I don't want him dead.
24:41I don't.
24:43I wanted our family to be normal again.
24:47That's all I wanted.
24:49I don't.
24:51I don't know who pulled the trigger.
24:53I really don't.
24:55I don't believe you.
24:57It's that simple.
24:58The detective then begins to develop a theory, asking Chasey if she ever vented to Michael
25:03Garza about her problems with Robert.
25:06She admits that she did.
25:08He knows he's hit me before because he saw the bruises on my arm, and that was probably
25:12a week or two ago.
25:13I've got bruises on the back of my legs.
25:15I've got random bruises from Robert.
25:20It could just be him grabbing me.
25:22He's done this to me for seven years.
25:25There's been times that he will get upset, and he'll grab me by the hair, and he'll slam
25:29my head up against the window.
25:31It's...
25:32I don't know why.
25:33I know I can be a pill to deal with, and I know that.
25:37Michael wasn't the only man Chasey made these kinds of allegations to.
25:41She also made similar claims to Brad, the other man she was seeing.
25:46She told me that he would drag her around.
25:48I asked her over and over and over.
25:49I said, why don't you go to the police, Chasey?
25:51And she would tell me that he would kill her.
25:55Along with this, Chasey had also told Brad about an incident with Robert, one that casts
26:00a different light on the current situation.
26:02I think he told her before she pointed a gun at him.
26:07Maybe if she pointed a gun at him at that time.
26:10I think she said he told her that there's something about they'll carry her out in a
26:18body bag.
26:19And Chasey told me that she told him, no, they'll carry you out in a body bag.
26:24While she hasn't admitted to it, Chasey has been keeping another secret.
26:28She wasn't just cheating on Robert with Michael and Brad, but also a third man named Sean.
26:34Just like the others, she told him about her alleged issues with Robert.
26:38Chasey had met Sean at a firefighter event before they started talking on Facebook.
26:43He eventually came forward and spoke with police, claiming that he and Chasey had been
26:47seeing each other for around seven months, from September 2015 to July 2016.
26:53This time period overlapped with her relationships with both Brad and Michael.
26:58She told me on a couple of occasions that she, or that he, you know, would put hands on
27:05her or, you know, threaten her.
27:09I mean, you know, threaten to divorce her and take her kid and everything, you know, stuff
27:14like that.
27:15But, I mean, she basically painted him to be a monster.
27:19Well, she had said that a day or so before he had grabbed her and was physical with her
27:29and there wouldn't be anything, you know, no finger marks on the arm, nothing around the
27:35throat, you know, nothing.
27:37Just like with Brad, Chasey had made a concerning comment to Sean.
27:41There were times that she would say, you know, she wish he died in the fire, stuff like that,
27:48and, you know, I just kind of blew it off.
27:51In her interrogation, the detective continues to try and pry the truth from Chasey.
27:55So, let me ask you this.
27:57So, was this something set up that Mikey had done to get him out of the way so y'all could
28:03be together?
28:04No.
28:04Was this something that he had done to, I guess, retaliate, to protect you, I guess, Robert?
28:10That I don't know.
28:11That I really don't know.
28:12At one point, I told him, I said, I don't have any way out.
28:18I'm just going to throw my hands up and just stay with him.
28:21I told him this a couple days ago.
28:24I told him, you know, I've been with him for almost seven years.
28:28What's the rest of the time until he gets older?
28:31And he said, you shouldn't have to live like that.
28:35He would tell me he was going to come over and basically just beat him up, is what he was
28:39telling me.
28:39Like he was.
28:40Yes, and I kept telling him, there's no need for that.
28:43It's fine.
28:44I can handle on my own.
28:45And I kept telling him, I don't want you involved.
28:48That's what I told him.
28:49Okay.
28:50So, here's what I think happened.
28:52I think Mikey's involved in this.
28:55Okay?
28:56And I'd even go so far as to say that, you know, you probably didn't have any knowledge
29:01of his actions.
29:03Okay?
29:04I would hope to God.
29:06I would hope to God that he wouldn't have done that.
29:10I mean, he knew, he knew that Robert and I were having problems.
29:14He knew that I wanted to try to work things out.
29:16And just like tonight.
29:18Well, so that's part of the problem.
29:20You say you wanted to work things out.
29:22You had sex with him tonight, even though you wanted to work things out.
29:25You probably told him you loved him.
29:27He has already told you within three months that he loved you, which is pretty quick.
29:31Yes.
29:32I'd say that, you know, obsession.
29:38You know, he's already said that he would do violent things for you.
29:42I believe that you saw Mikey do this.
29:44You panicked.
29:45And that's the way you went, which is why you are unscathed in this.
29:48Somebody that just cold-blooded murders somebody, okay, does not let another witness just leave.
29:54I didn't see anybody.
29:56But if I had to guess from things that he said to me before, I would say it was him.
30:00That's not good enough.
30:02That is not good enough.
30:03He has made comments to me about family and friends.
30:08That's not good enough.
30:09You're five feet away.
30:10Five feet.
30:11You're this table-length distance away.
30:13Somebody taking a shotgun.
30:15He's pushing it right up against your husband's head.
30:17Boom.
30:18No.
30:19Boom.
30:20And you're telling me you see nothing?
30:22You see nothing.
30:23There was nobody standing next to him.
30:25Nobody standing next to him.
30:27There was nobody standing next to him.
30:29Following this confrontation, Chasey's story changes dramatically.
30:34Don't lie to me.
30:35You're going to take a fall for this.
30:36You're never going to see your daughter again, okay?
30:39All because you're trying to protect somebody else.
30:41He did it.
30:43You saw him?
30:44I didn't see him.
30:46Then how do you know he did it?
30:48I did.
30:52He had a box of gloves sitting on his kitchen table.
30:55A box of rubber gloves.
30:57He had a camo shirt sitting there next to it.
31:01He had a camo gun.
31:06I don't know what it was.
31:07I don't know anything.
31:09There was a trash bag sitting next to it.
31:11She now adds another element, notably something she hasn't mentioned until now.
31:16And he had told me that his son was part of the Mexican Mafia.
31:20Who did?
31:21Michael.
31:22Okay.
31:23And that he can make people disappear.
31:27So Mikey told you that he can make people disappear?
31:29Yeah.
31:31And what did you say to that?
31:32I told him that that's not what I wanted.
31:34Somewhat unsurprisingly, this new version contradicts something Chasey said earlier about Michael
31:40while sitting in the back of a police cruiser at the crime scene.
31:43Do you ever make any type of threats towards your husband or anything like that?
31:47No.
31:47Nothing.
31:48Now, though, Chasey is painting a very different picture of Michael.
31:51And I kept telling him that I felt like if I got too far into this and I did something
31:59to piss him off, that I was going to be the one to disappear.
32:03And I even said that to him tonight because he kept saying, I don't want him hitting you.
32:08Now, I think you're just trying to get me to shut up and you're saying something that
32:11you think I want to hear.
32:12I don't, I don't know if he did it, though.
32:16Okay.
32:17But from what he had sitting on the table and the comments that he kept making, that's
32:23what I was going for.
32:24He, I told him, I said, I was going to go to dinner with Robert and he kept saying, well,
32:30if I find out where you're at, I'm going to show up.
32:32And he said, if he, he said, if I see him kiss you, he said, I'm going to cut his looks
32:37off.
32:37When did he say that?
32:39This was tonight.
32:40Getting Michael's side of the story, though, was about to prove harder than expected.
32:45Later on, the same day as Chasey's interview, investigators decide to raid Michael's house
32:50with Texas Rangers and Rockwall SWAT after hearing that he'd returned there sometime after
32:55Robert's death.
32:56Despite the effort, there's no sign of Michael inside the residence or in his truck.
33:13Here's some more camo and black clothing.
33:16Why would you have a camera system and it facing the wall?
33:22Oh.
33:25Unless you had someone here you didn't want people to see.
33:29Yeah.
33:29The hunt for Michael will continue.
33:32So for now, investigators make do with Chasey's version of events.
33:36After a quick trip to the bathroom, the detective continues questioning Chasey, and it seems
33:41like the break gave her time to think, because when they start up again, she has an entirely
33:46new series of events to share, now claiming that she actually did see Michael standing at
33:51the side of the G.
33:52When I took off running, when I took off running, he pushed me.
34:00Mike, he pushed you?
34:01He pushed me down, and that's when I dropped my phone.
34:05And my phone was right in front of me, and the screen was lit up.
34:09I don't know if y'all can, I don't know how y'all can do it.
34:13If y'all can, the call was ended.
34:16He picked up my phone, he ended the call, and he threw it down in front of me.
34:21And I was, I was on my hands and knees in the mud, and I couldn't find it.
34:26Though she'd been claiming up until now that she dropped her phone in the mud puddle, causing
34:31the 911 call to end, when authorities first arrived, Chasey slipped up.
34:36The guy took, I don't have it, he's on my phone.
34:39Does this slip-up indicate that she's now finally telling the truth about what happened
34:43to her phone, and Michael took it from her, or is this all still an elaborate lie?
34:49I didn't want him dead.
34:50There was, um...
34:52But you just didn't want him, you didn't want to be with him anymore?
34:55No, I wanted to.
34:56I wanted us to work things out.
34:58Despite this claim, Chasey had slipped up again while at the crime scene.
35:02So your husband knew Mr. Garza?
35:04No, no.
35:05And that's, that's why, that's why we've been having problems.
35:11I didn't want to be married anymore.
35:13Chasey's text messages also reveal another side to her story.
35:17When texting Sean, the third man she was seeing, about hers and Robert's relationship, Chasey
35:22wrote, I only have one way out of this and it's not going to happen anytime soon.
35:27And I hate him so much, more than I've ever hated anything in my life.
35:32If that wasn't clear enough, she also told him that I would be better off with him gone,
35:37benefits, and can't lose custody.
35:39Chasey's lies continue to pile up and there are still many more to be exposed.
35:44After hearing her latest story, the detective leaves Chasey alone again.
35:48I can't get his face off my head.
35:52Here's what I want you to do, okay?
35:54Mm-hmm.
35:56I want you to write out everything that happened tonight, okay?
36:00Everything that's pertinent information.
36:02Okay.
36:02I want you to take your time.
36:07I want you to write it out.
36:08And remember, if you lie on here, it's against the law, okay?
36:14Chargers can come to you if you lie, okay?
36:17Just know this is also your opportunity that after we talk to Mike and he tries to throw
36:22you under the bus, because I guarantee he will, this is your one opportunity to get all
36:26the truth out there.
36:27After filling out five pages for her statement, the officer reviews it and then confronts Chase
36:32with what he's discovered while he was out of the room, catching her in yet another lie.
36:37The area where she said her vehicle had become stuck didn't have any trees big enough for
36:42it to be trapped.
36:43A four-wheel Jeep, four-wheel drive Jeep like that would not get stuck where you're saying
36:47it got stuck.
36:48No, and I wasn't telling him it was stuck.
36:51I told him that I went off the road, and that's what I called to tell him.
36:55This is another direct contradiction to what Chasey said at the scene.
36:59Where was it stuck?
37:00In the front, in the rear, the side?
37:01It was in the front.
37:02Okay.
37:03There was a branch, and I couldn't get it to back up over it, and it was hung, and there
37:08was tree branches on the end of it.
37:09Was it across the road, or was it on the side of the road?
37:11No, it's in the ditch.
37:12I went off into the ditch.
37:13Okay.
37:13I always see.
37:15Do you have it seemed upset?
37:16Do you have it?
37:19I don't know.
37:19It's almost been like just a blank slate.
37:21Like, almost like you prepared for this.
37:23Hearing this and perhaps realizing that she isn't going to be able to sell this story,
37:28Chasey once again adjusts the details, now saying that when Robert threatened to kick
37:32her out of the house, she asked Michael what they could do, and she claims he said he would
37:37have someone kill him, or he would do it.
37:40The last thing he told me was, if I do this, you're going to be right there, and you're
37:43going to watch it.
37:44And I told him.
37:46I told him I didn't want to.
37:48First, he told me that he wanted me to meet him in Dallas to talk.
37:53According to Chasey's latest version, Michael had planned to burn Robert's truck and the
38:09clothes he was wearing in order to cover up the evidence.
38:12However, that didn't happen, and so they went with a new plan.
38:16Chasey admits that she drove down the rural road, went into the ditch, and called Robert
38:20to come to the spot where Michael told her to stop.
38:23Now that she finally seems to be closer to the truth, Chasey goes over the shooting
38:27once again.
38:28Robert had pulled the jeep out.
38:32It hurt.
38:34It hurt.
38:36He didn't even have a tongue in the grass.
38:39He shot.
38:40Oh my God.
38:42He shot.
38:45I told him to stop.
38:49Are you screaming at Michael to stop?
38:51Yes.
38:51I wanted to come to know what it's like to be bullied all the time.
39:04How worthless I am.
39:10I have a bad mom.
39:12I'm not a bad mom.
39:13Even though it seems like Chasey has finally begun to divulge the truth, there's another
39:18element that she has withheld from all versions of her story.
39:22When Brad came to speak with detectives, he revealed that around the time of the shooting,
39:26he was actually in contact with Chasey.
39:29Whenever you asked that I talked to Chasey about 10 o'clock at night, it was now obvious of the murder.
39:36She told me she was at the hospital.
39:38Chasey made the call to 911 at 1048 p.m., meaning that Chasey was on the phone with Brad just before the shooting.
39:45To explain the time she was spending with Robert or one of the other men she was seeing,
39:50Chasey had told Brad that her grandfather was sick and was visiting him in the hospital.
39:55She even told him that he'd passed away that evening.
39:58I even got messages showing she was on her way to my house.
40:01Like, one area where all this went down.
40:03But I thought she was leaving the hospital.
40:05Brad now suspects that Chasey had planned for him to be her alibi for the time of Robert's shooting,
40:10as she was supposed to stay the night with him.
40:12For now, the detective makes do with the current story he has from Chasey.
40:16I'm going to do this again.
40:19Okay?
40:21Write out everything that happened in this time.
40:24Everything that you told me.
40:26Okay?
40:28When I was talking about the emotions, this is one of the emotions that I think you're truly being sincere about.
40:33You made me feel like...
40:36all the time.
40:39But when he wasn't being a person, he pushed me to be a better person.
40:47Chasey is left alone to once again write up a new statement.
40:57During his interview, Brad posited a theory that Chasey may have had ulterior motives
41:01when telling him about Robert allegedly hurting her.
41:04Why would she show me this gun?
41:05Why would she be telling me that he was abusive and this and that?
41:08I mean, either he was or she was trying to get me to say, I'll help you.
41:15You know?
41:16Brad would eventually share one more shocking story.
41:20The day after Chasey's interview, investigators are still looking for Michael
41:23and decide to speak with his mother and brother.
41:26We've got to make contact with him, okay?
41:29And the longer it goes, the more the hunt intensifies, if you will.
41:33You understand what I'm saying?
41:34We have every intention of that boy presenting himself to the police station.
41:37I know.
41:38But listen to me.
41:39I'd like it to occur tonight.
41:41Like, within the next few hours, if y'all could get it to do it, we can promise his safety as long as he acts right.
41:46No harm will come to him.
41:48I can promise you that.
41:49The more the more after is for him to go in there.
41:52And then, I don't know.
41:54I don't know much.
41:55I don't know, like, the whole picture or the story.
41:58I know I didn't raise a boy that is evil like that.
42:03Though Michael's family was sure he would turn himself in, he didn't.
42:06And so investigators continued their search for him.
42:09Chasey was left alone once she finished writing up her newest statement.
42:13But she will soon be joined by someone who throws a wrench in her allegations about Robert.
42:18Until then, it seems that Chasey has finally realized her lies have come crashing down around her.
42:24I'm so sorry.
42:27I'm so sorry.
42:31I'm so sorry.
42:33Chasey is eventually joined by her mother and her stepdad.
42:41You're not hurt physically.
42:44Can you tell us?
42:48It's the truth.
42:49And it's being recorded.
42:53Robert and I have been having problems.
43:00Robert and I have been having problems again.
43:03And he's going to kick me out.
43:07And then he's going to take from me again.
43:10I talked to Robert yesterday.
43:12I don't.
43:14No.
43:15But he's still pushing me around.
43:18He's not pushing you around, Chasey.
43:19Mama, you don't live there.
43:22You're not going to yell at me, Chasey?
43:24I'm not.
43:24Chasey's own mother isn't the only one who has reservations about her claim that Robert hurt her.
43:30Chasey and Robert's neighbor later spoke with police, and she claimed to have spent a lot of time with the couple.
43:35I look at this and I look at, you know, how she says that he was beating her and she just wanted him to be hurt.
43:41And I'm like, no, there's no way.
43:44There's no way.
43:45And all the times that we sat there, never once did she ever say anything to me about, you know, he's abusive or he did this.
43:53He never saw any bruises, never, I mean, they seemed to be this happy couple.
43:58She never shied away if he lifted his arm or anything like that.
44:01Robert's ex-wife Amy also has her doubts about Chasey's allegations.
44:06Did you ever see him get physically abusive with her?
44:10No.
44:11He stood there.
44:12Anytime we saw that she would lose it, he just stood there and took it, you know, because he was a big man.
44:19So, I mean, it didn't seem, it didn't really faze him, you know.
44:22Was he ever physically abusive to you?
44:24No.
44:25Okay, never.
44:26If he got upset about something, he was more inclined to be quiet about, you know, and then bring it up later, at a later time.
44:33But no, he never was abusive, never, never, I don't even remember him ever yelling or anything like that.
44:39Robert's daughter, Nicole, also shared a story about a fight she witnessed between Chasey and Robert, casting further uncertainty on Chasey's claims.
44:47They got into an argument, Dad and Chasey did, and she threw herself into a wall and said, you know, was trying to act like he was the one hurting her.
44:56Like, I visually watched her throw herself into the wall and then start yelling about, Robert, stop it.
45:04And he was like, what are you talking about? And it was very confusing.
45:07Back in the interrogation room, Chasey attempts to plead with her mother and stepdad.
45:11I didn't want him to kill her. I just wanted him to scare him.
45:25Oh, no, no, no.
45:29You just wanted Michael Garza to scare Robert.
45:32Stop it. You're hurting me.
45:35Charlie, do you want to go out?
45:44Officer, can we get my wife out, please?
45:50I yelled at him and I told him not to.
45:53I did it. I told him not to.
45:55And I know, don't get up. He did it.
45:58I told him not to.
45:59After Chasey's mom leaves the room, her stepdad attempts to get Chasey to see the big picture.
46:05I need you to calm down so you don't physically get a heart attack or a stroke, okay?
46:13What's done is done.
46:15Now we've got to try and work our way through the details and see what to do next, okay?
46:21There's nothing I or your mother can do for you right now, okay?
46:25Please, please.
46:26We will. We know we will. You don't have to worry about that.
46:30I don't.
46:31We don't. We haven't told her anything.
46:34After taking some time to calm herself down, Chasey's mother returns.
46:38We're trying to get her to eat some shit.
46:40You need to take care of yourself, Chasey.
46:42This is all I need.
46:49Boy, y'all need to do that right now.
46:53Hello?
46:53Listen to me.
47:06You have got to tell the truth, you're all just the only thing.
47:08I'm dead, I'm dead, I'm dead.
47:11I'm so scared that's going on.
47:13I'm dead.
47:13It's the only thing that's going to save you.
47:15Though she's repeated her story countless times by now when speaking with her mom,
47:19Chasey adds a new detail, this time about the location of her wedding ring.
47:24You don't have any shoes or anything?
47:27My shoes are going.
47:27He has my wedding ring.
47:29I have who?
47:30My, my, my, my wedding ring.
47:33Why?
47:33Why?
47:35He took my earrings in the wedding ring.
47:39That seems to be a pattern for her.
47:40This is another departure from what Chasey claimed earlier.
47:44My, my wedding ring is in that, that puddle.
47:46Okay.
47:47My, my wedding ring is in that puddle.
47:49There's still one more element of this twisted story.
47:53Though Chasey had concocted an intricate web of lies, everything had started to fall apart
47:57in recent weeks.
47:59Just under two weeks before Robert's death, Brad decided to go to Chasey's house when she
48:03wasn't answering her phone.
48:05He'd been to the house many times before, and Chasey told him that she lived there alone
48:09with her daughter.
48:10He claimed to have never seen any sign of Robert until that night.
48:14She answers the door in kind of a frantic way, and is pushing me down the sidewalk.
48:21Pushing me down the sidewalk.
48:22Like, opens the door, answers the door, and just kind of like, shoving him back.
48:27She said, Brad, he's here, he's here, he's here.
48:29Just get on going.
48:30I said, Chasey, Chasey, Chasey, easy.
48:32I said, don't worry about where she's, no, get going, Brad.
48:35He'll kill you or whatever.
48:37That's what she told him.
48:38Earlier in her interrogation, Chasey made an offhand comment about Robert wondering
48:42who had come to the house.
48:44It seems that the person he was inquiring about had been Brad.
48:48And he kept asking me, um, who came to the house, and I kept telling him I didn't know
48:53who came to the house.
48:54Despite Chasey's denials, it seems that Robert suspected Chasey was seeing other men.
48:59He'd even installed a security system inside the home to try and catch her.
49:03Robert's daughter actually spoke to him a few hours before his death, confirming that he'd
49:07plan to leave and take his and Chasey's daughter with him.
49:11He was complaining, kind of, about her and, um, how, I guess, the marriage had, was not
49:20really a marriage anymore.
49:21Like, she didn't sleep in the same bedroom, and, you know, it wasn't, it wasn't sunshine
49:25and rainbows.
49:27Sure.
49:27And, um, he said, he said she was kind of nuts.
49:32And then he also told me that he was supposed to meet her that night so they could try to
49:35work things out.
49:37Like, you know, because he wanted a divorce.
49:40And he was going to try and take it.
49:42In the interrogation room, Chasey's mother struggles to come to terms with what her daughter
49:46has done.
49:49I don't know.
49:50I don't know.
49:51I don't know.
49:55I don't know.
49:57It was that bad.
49:58Why couldn't you come to us?
50:01I don't know.
50:03I can't.
50:04I can't.
50:05Chasey, I love you, but I can't.
50:08I can't.
50:09He killed our robbers, Chasey.
50:11He killed our robbers.
50:13I didn't want her to do it.
50:17I just wanted him to hear when I know that he was going to do it.
50:21I don't want to hear it anymore.
50:26I love you.
50:28After her mother leaves, Chasey once again breaks down in tears.
50:31But she isn't left alone for long.
50:34Ma'am.
50:34Chasey.
50:35Come on over here.
50:39You're being placed under arrest for conspiracy to commit murder.
50:42Do you understand that?
50:43Turn around and put your hands on your back.
50:44She's going to pat you down, okay?
50:46Right quick.
50:47Let's put your hands up there.
50:47She's going to pat you down.
50:48Do you have anything on you?
50:51Do you have anything on you?
50:53I don't.
50:54In you?
50:55And they find you at the jail?
50:56You could be charged with it.
50:57Do you understand that, okay?
50:59Do you know anything?
51:00I just have a little body.
51:01That's all I have.
51:01Okay, they'll take care of that.
51:02Okay, let me see your hands.
51:04I'm going to put them down real loud, okay?
51:07You good over there?
51:08Do you have to move it?
51:09Do you have a small piece?
51:11Following Chasey's arrest, Michael Garza turned himself in two days after Robert was shot.
51:16If investigators hoped to hear his version of events, they would be sorely disappointed.
51:21How are you?
51:22How are you?
51:22How are you?
51:23I'm doing all right.
51:23My name is Michael Burke.
51:24I'm the detective of Royce City, okay?
51:27What's the end of the point?
51:28Take your handcuffs off with me.
51:29As soon as the detective gets Michael's handcuffs off, he reads him his Miranda rights.
51:34I'll tell you what.
51:35So, I'm going to give you an opportunity to speak, tell me your side of the story, okay?
51:40We've already talked to Chasey.
51:42This is your opportunity to kind of tell your side of the story, what happened, and we'll
51:47go from there.
51:49Speak a little time.
51:51Okay.
51:52Michael Garza never did share his side of the story.
51:55However, some of his friends came forward and spoke with police, sharing what he apparently
51:59told them.
52:00They said that following Robert's shooting, Michael came directly to their house and made
52:04comments about ****** up, and said that he was in big trouble.
52:08He also claimed that, quote, the ****** set me up.
52:11In his version of events, Michael told his friends that Chasey asked him to go with her
52:15to meet her husband that night.
52:17He says he brought his shotgun and drove in Chasey's Jeep together.
52:21He claimed that as they drove, Chasey said they were just going to kill the ******.
52:25Michael said that he got scared, got out of the Jeep, and ran into the woods.
52:28He claimed that when he heard a gunshot, he then ran all the way back to Quinlan.
52:33His friends were skeptical of this story, especially because he added that he saw the police lights
52:38as they responded to Chasey's 911 call, yet he'd apparently been running away at the time
52:43they would have arrived at the scene.
52:45As well, other evidence turned up.
52:47On October 17th, while harrowing a field near the back road where Robert was shot, a farmer
52:53came across something and immediately called the police.
52:56What's the shotgun?
52:58The firearm wasn't the only discovery made in that field.
53:08It's going to hurt just because it's inside out.
53:10A balaclava is also found abandoned nearby.
53:21With Chasey's confession and this evidence, Michael Garza was convicted of first-degree
53:26murder for the intentional use of a deadly weapon and sentenced to 99 years in prison.
53:32Chasey Poynter, on the other hand, was convicted of first-degree murder for intentionally causing
53:36Robert's death and sentenced to life in prison.
