00:00We need to get Chapel Rhone in the ring,
00:01is what we need to do.
00:02She wore like a lucha mask one time,
00:04she had some wrestling gear on, like she looked good.
00:06We gotta get her in the ring.
00:11Hello everybody, this is CM Punk
00:12and I'm here to discuss the 10 essential items
00:15that I cannot live without.
00:22Can I live without my wedding ring?
00:24You would think yes,
00:25but the honest answer is absolutely not.
00:28No, there's obviously, my wedding band
00:30represents a union between myself and my wife.
00:33The only time my ring would be off is when I was training.
00:36So if my ring was off, that meant my mouthpiece was in.
00:38If my mouthpiece was in, that meant my ring was off.
00:40I would take my ring off,
00:42I would put it in the mouthpiece case,
00:44so I always knew where it was, so I never lost it.
00:46There's been situations where people would be like,
00:48well I'll hold on to it, and then I just can't.
00:51The feeling I get thinking that
00:53I can't trust this person with this,
00:56100% solidifies the fact that I cannot live without this.
00:59I mean, we can piggyback off that.
01:00This bracelet, you can see it's got my dog, Larry,
01:04and my wife, initials on it, Chicago Stars.
01:08This was gifted to me by a fan,
01:10a lovely young lady named Victoria.
01:12When I leave my wife and my dog,
01:16I always bring this with me,
01:18because it helps me mentally stay connected to them.
01:22We, as entertainers, can't do what we are able to do
01:28without the fans.
01:29And it's just, I was kind of moved by it,
01:32that somebody would take the time to recognize our jobs
01:37in the grand scheme of things is cool,
01:40but it's still rough being away from family and stuff.
01:43So we do sacrifice to entertain the fans.
01:45And I just, I thought it was a sweet gesture.
01:47This is going to be a big theme
01:49in the 10 things that I cannot live without,
01:51is my wife and my dog.
01:53So I'm a big, big fan of my wife and my dog.
02:00This is my best friend.
02:01I brought this.
02:02He's on a little cute bubble card,
02:04because he actually has his own action figure,
02:06but I'm going to open it.
02:08It's kind of like an unboxing, if you will.
02:12This little man, look at him.
02:14Look how beautiful he is.
02:16It says on the back here that he weighs 3,000 pounds.
02:19And I can attest to the 100% validity of that,
02:23because I have to pick him up
02:24and put him in the bed most nights.
02:25He crash landed on earth.
02:27He's been frozen in the arctic ice
02:28for over 100,000 years.
02:30If you're a fan of John Carpenter's The Thing,
02:33you understand the reference.
02:34We rescued Larry from the largest no-kill shelter
02:38in the Chicagoland area, PAWS.
02:40So this special little guy is my best friend.
02:43He goes everywhere with me,
02:44unless I have to get there via plane.
02:47He does not like to fly, unless it's private.
02:49Larry is also named after Larry Talbot
02:52from the Universal Monster movie, The Wolfman.
02:55Obviously, he has a striking likeness to Larry Talbot.
02:58He's a beautiful little man.
03:02This is the best there is, the best there was,
03:04and the best there ever will be.
03:06Legendary Hall of Fame Canadian wrestler, Bret Hart.
03:10He travels in my fanny pack with me,
03:12because I often will find myself in situations
03:15where I ask myself,
03:17well, what would Harley Race do?
03:19What would Bret Hart do?
03:20So this is just kind of like a little totem
03:22of my old school roots.
03:24This is, Bret's a mentor of mine.
03:27I can text him right now and ask him what he thinks of,
03:30you know, what's going on in the world of politics
03:33or hockey or pro wrestling,
03:35and I feel fortunate that I'm able to do that.
03:38I carry a mouthpiece with me in case I can train jiu-jitsu
03:47or any other kind of discipline of MMA while I'm on the road.
03:50Doesn't happen a lot, but I do wear my mouthpiece every day,
03:54because I am a terrible grinder.
03:57I grind my teeth when I sleep.
03:59I sleep with this thing, and it's a ghastly sight.
04:02The reoccurring theme of a lot of these,
04:03it says Ape and Larry on those with the Chicago flag,
04:06which is the three loves of my life,
04:08my wife, my dog, and my city.
04:10Also, just a little bonus, earplugs.
04:14This is like my sleep kit.
04:15I don't think I can attempt to get a good night's sleep
04:18if I don't have earplugs in my mouth guard in,
04:20because I feel like I'll shatter what teeth I have left
04:23by grinding in my sleep.
04:29Chicago Blackhawks.
04:30Red's my favorite color.
04:31Blackhawks, obviously, my favorite hockey team.
04:33Original Six NHL team.
04:35This is just another anchor to my city of Chicago.
04:39People like to represent where they're from,
04:41sports teams and all that other stuff.
04:43Now, this is my team.
04:44So when I get a little bit homesick,
04:46you know, I'm always the guy that's just
04:48constantly repping Chicago.
04:50And I try to hide as much as I can when I'm in public,
04:53so a hat is kind of necessary.
04:55Yes, the obnoxious red hat that everyone's gonna see
04:58and go, oh, yeah, I hate that CM Punk.
05:00But if my hair doesn't look as pretty
05:02as it does right now, I'm normally wearing a hat.
05:05I used to famously wear a Cubs hat everywhere I went.
05:09And then people started wearing that Cubs hat
05:11and dressing like me, and it kind of freaked me out.
05:13So I switched over to the Red Blackhawks hat.
05:15Reminds me of home.
05:16I like to try to balance all the bullshit electronics and screens I have to deal with on a daily basis
05:26and get old school and read.
05:28It's important to read.
05:30It's not necessarily The Shining that is essential, but I always have a book on me.
05:34The Shining is actually a book I've never read before, so I'm tackling that one.
05:39I'm like 226 pages in.
05:41I can't wait to see how it ends.
05:43So far, it's great.
05:43So far, I like...
05:45Because I'm fascinated with the Kubrick movie and, you know, the Stephen King book
05:50and the sequel, Dr. Sleep.
05:51I thought Mike Flanagan did such a beautiful job kind of creating a sequel
05:57to not only the book, but the movie.
05:59So, I'm just going back and reading the source material.
06:02Horror is my genre when it comes to movies, books, everything.
06:06Like, I just...
06:07I mean, I named my dog after The Wolfman, so...
06:11Yeah, horror to me is probably my favorite genre of movie.
06:19A lot of people like to make fun of me because I still have an iPod,
06:24but the reason I have an iPod is because I have stuff on here
06:28that I just can't transfer to anything else and it's not available on Spotify
06:33or Apple Music or anything like that.
06:35If I didn't have this, a lot of the stuff would be lost to time.
06:37Headphones are obviously essential.
06:40If you see me in public and I have my headphones on,
06:42that's like a big do not talk to me sign.
06:45Do not disturb.
06:46It doesn't work.
06:47That's the only thing.
06:48I used to wear the obnoxious giant headphones because in my mind, I thought,
06:52this will deter people.
06:53This is a do not disturb sign for my person and it just absolutely does not work.
06:58To the point where I've had people come and actually take the headphones off my ear.
07:03But these work great and they fit in your pocket.
07:06If I have downtime, if I'm warming up,
07:08I will be listening to like some dochi and some chapel groan.
07:12Got to try to stay with the times.
07:15Keeps me young.
07:19Coffee is 100% a necessity.
07:21It's got to be one of the first things that is in my hand to start the day.
07:26And C4 is normally a pre-match ritual.
07:32Do I need them?
07:33Are they essential?
07:35Do I feel a whole hell of a lot better if I'm caffeinated?
07:38Yes.
07:39It makes me less grumpy.
07:40Don't want to be crabby.
07:42We work long, crazy days.
07:44Like today, my day started so early and I'm going to wind up wrestling later.
07:50So I need the caffeine to boost me through.
07:53And Spindrift is, I used to drink a lot of soda.
07:56I'm the idiot with a Pepsi tattoo, mind you.
07:58I don't drink soft drinks anymore.
08:01It's been a decade plus.
08:04But Spindrift, I'm a huge fan of.
08:05This is not a commercial.
08:06They do not pay me.
08:07I am not an ambassador.
08:08I just love this stuff.
08:09It's carbonated water.
08:11It's just water and fruit.
08:12I can't beat it.
08:16I have too many bags.
08:17When I travel, these are essential.
08:19They come with me, carrying things that I need like deodorant.
08:24This is a battery for my phone or my iPod.
08:27This is my gym bag.
08:28So what's essential about this is heart rate monitor.
08:31Because if I don't have my heart rate monitor on and record my workout,
08:35and my weird brain somehow have convinced myself that the workout didn't count.
08:41It didn't happen.
08:42Not necessarily counting macros, but a lot of the times I will keep the heart rate monitor
08:48on for duration or number of calories burned.
08:52Like if I'm shooting for a workout where I burn a thousand calories,
08:57the only way to be able to monitor that is with my heart rate monitor.
08:59The watch also helps with that.
09:03I got the watch because I wasn't able to put my heart rate monitor on when I had my torn tricep
09:09and I was in a brace.
09:10I couldn't bend my arm enough to wrap it around.
09:13So this stuff is 100% necessary.
09:16And this is bands for warming up in the gym.
09:19I got more straps for when my grip fails and I'm doing heavy shrugs or rows or whatnot.
09:25It's like my utility belt when I'm at the gym.
09:31I'm not a shoe guy.
09:33I say that as I can tell you that I probably have way too many pairs of hokas sitting
09:38at my front door in my house.
09:39Look at these beautiful things.
09:40Look at these.
09:41All black.
09:42Normally I like the colors.
09:43I got some lemonade hokas.
09:45I got some bright pink ones.
09:46But I have a pair for everyday travel.
09:50I have a pair that are strictly for walking.
09:53I have a pair that are strictly for hiking.
09:55I have a pair that's strictly for treadmill work.
09:58I have a pair that I just wear to walk to the gym when I'm at home.
10:01Hokas I found are just great everyday shoe.
10:04But also if you're a runner, they're kind of a godsend.
10:06I feel like it's like walking on a cloud.
10:08And again, I am not a brand ambassador.
10:11These are just 100% a necessity.
10:13And if you watch me on television, you'll see I've kind of dabbled in the world of like
10:17Jordans and stuff like that.
10:18But that's mostly just because I don't want to wear the same old beat up pair of shoes
10:23on TV every week.
10:24Kind of got to spice it up.
10:25So there's a little bit of a fashion edge to it.
10:27But these are the most functional, comfortable shoes that I've ever worn in my entire life.
10:32Not only do they look great, they're functional.
10:35Like this is for working out and walking through airports and running from crazy people.
10:43All right, everybody, that's CM Punk's 10 essential things that he cannot live without.
10:47I hope you enjoyed.
10:48I hope I made you laugh.
10:50Maybe I made you cry.
10:51But if I didn't, there's still time.
