00:00Congratulations. Cheryl Lee Ralph Day. Thank you.
00:06We got you a star on the wall. Baby. With them fans. Hey.
00:11I love it. How are you feeling? I feel so wonderful.
00:14It was such an outstanding day. The way people came out and lined Hollywood
00:21Boulevard in front of the star across the street, down the street. It was
00:27crazy. And to hear them shout my name, I was like, oh my God. What a blessing.
00:35Yeah. I know you said that if you don't use your voice, you use the opportunity to tell your story.
00:40Can you feel like, you know, you've told your story through your art and through your career?
00:45Oh, absolutely. And I really have to thank Quinta Brunson and Abbott Elementary for unmuting the mic.
00:52And now, my voice can be heard. And I love the fact that people are responding in such a lovely and warm way. It's a blessing.
01:02I love that. And you guys also talked about, you know, you being Jamaican and there only being a few Jamaicans that have a star on the walk of fame.
01:09You know, Bob Marley being one of them. How does that feel to represent your culture?
01:13It is wonderful. And to be right there, Bob Marley, Cheryl Leroy, thank you very much. I love it.
01:20I love it. I hear you're next to Chaka Khan. Your star is next to Chaka Khan.
01:23I'm next to Chaka Khan. I'm next to Mr. DeMille. I'm next to Octavia Spencer. And Jimi Hendrix is like a star or two down.
01:33Okay. And there I am. Those are some good names around you. Those are some wonderful names. Chaka Khan. Chaka Khan. Oh.
01:40I love it. I know you said upstairs, you know, 40-year overnight celebrity. Talk about what it means to get greater later.
01:49You know, it's that thing about being tenacious. It's that thing about staying in the game.
01:55It's about loving what you do enough that it doesn't matter what anybody says about you.
02:01It doesn't matter how many no's you hear. But guess what? You're gonna do your thing. And I'm doing mine still.
