This is the moment a passerby rescued a newborn calf that was stranded in the middle of a fast-moving stream.

The man, who has not been named, was hiking through Xiangyang, Hubei, China, on February 19 when he came across the calf.

A video shows the young tan calf teetering on some rocks amid the rushing water as the passerby carefully makes his way across to reach it.

After nearly slipping on the wet rocks, the man successfully carries the calf to safety on the riverbank.

Fortunately, the calf was completely unharmed and was soon reunited with its mother, who was found further up the trail.
